Higher taxes are NOT the solution

Tax the rich. As I saw that statement I laughed. If you tax the rich more and give free pass to the poor, the high tax if the rich will still affect the poor. The services rendered by the rich that the poor are using will now have increase in price. So you can see that the poor will still be the once to pay for the high tax, not even the rich will be bothered. The cost of their goods will just go up too as the tax the rich higher. So taxing the rich more is just not the way to go.

Taxing the rich doesn't fix the economy, you have to tax the rich and the poor to make an equilibrium. If you tax the rich and leave the poor, it will show on the value of your economy. It will be like everything will be free, they will not value and economy system without been bias. As much as you can look the poor people less, the rich people can not fund the economy with their taxes alone.

One disadvantage of taxing the rich is that you may not be able to tax most of them, they don't have cash you can tax. What he have is loan which are collateralized with their assets, until they liquidate their assets before you can tax them. That means there will be no money to make.

The problem is never about the tax rate itself but about how it is being collected and how it is being managed. Governments need taxes to generate revenues for the education sector, medical services, basic amenities and also for other public services. Government do not cut down their expenses but take down the taxes then they actually make debt worse. Meanwhile an excessive amount of taxes makes investment difficult it also discourages purchasing power and puts a lot of pressure on people who have low income. Better ways to control unnecessary spending and reduce corruption also improve transparency and design of your tax system.

Yes it is true, the question is not about the collection of taxes but how it spend for the public welfare is important. Mostly in the case of poor government they find it easy to collect the money through taxes, but the bad thing is that the imposing the taxes is not fairly distributed. Every year new list of taxes introduced that's not work positively for the public. But it create hates in the heart of poorer. 

I think government instead of relying on taxes  government should focused on that projects that can generate money for the state. Like use any unused lands, or build any firms that can generate exports only taxes are not the solution.

This is the difference how developed or undeveloped countries running their economy. Stronger economy believed on investment in productive projects that can help to progress the economy income. By this public feel relaxed because in return public get many facilities. While in under developed countries taxes usually used to pay the debt. Due to Poor management they cannot utilise the income for the further income generating projects.

Higher taxes are never the solution but like right from time, even before modern civilization, the king or chief would always tax everyone whenever they need money or maybe during war times, everybody in the land gets to drop something that can "contribute" and in this our modern day and age that same system, just modernized is what we use, rather is what the government is using and you would think it's going into projects to help the citizens but unfortunately thats how they loot money while in office, that why they can't tax their rich friends cause all of them are in it together. It takes a very selfless government to truly tax the rich and aldo ensure the tax money is used for what is was collected to be used for in the first place

And even those cases of scrutiny you can ignore. They are just a decoy case to feed some crumbs and satisfy the public while they are more actively concerned with it. I don't mean that the case is false by saying it is a decoy, but they will let some case of corruption and mismanagement actually be dealt with and someone might even go to prison. But the main reason they are doing that is not because they now want to clean up this mismanagement, it is just to appease the public and make them calm. That is the trick that is being used very often.

Also we need to make a difference between two types of mismanagement. One is a result of incompetence of those that are managing or leading, you can see this also in private companies often. This does lead to a loss of money but not in a way that enriches the manager. The other is evil and intentional, it is a targeted stealing of money and using different structures to make it happen. Sometimes they are done in the type called kickbacks. Both things are bad and we have both happening all the time, but the second one is much worse.

The government is not accountable and they abuse their power. That is why if people do not get the right benefits from the government even after paying taxes or the powerful people in the government embezzle everything with people money for their personal interests, then there is no chance that people will stop paying taxes in protest. Because if you do not pay taxes properly the government can misuse the law and stop your business activities or the work from which income comes. Or you can also be punished according to the law. So ultimately the people are hostage to such corrupt governments.

The main task of a public welfare government should be how to make people lives easier, how to keep the prices of everything under control. The government should increase its own sources of income, not just think about increasing taxes. By keeping taxes as low as possible, by increasing additional sources of income so that there is no pressure on the people and development activities continue to increase, only then will the government improve the country and change the lifestyle of the people.

If the government imposes taxes fairly on the rich and collects taxes accordingly, then the poor will not have to suffer too much harassment. Because service providers will never be able to set high prices due to the rich. Moreover, when a state's government fails to maintain economic balance, a burden called tax is deliberately imposed on the people to control that situation. However, the amount of tax for wealthy individuals is higher compared to a poor person. Because it is determined based on all movable and immovable properties.

Furthermore, many wealthy individuals in my state take large loans through banks to evade taxes. Therefore, I do not think it is possible to maintain the balance of the country's economy in this way. Thus, the government must refrain from unnecessary spending and stop looting money by showing a budget higher than the original budget of any project.

You're right, it's just for public consumption if some decoy falls into the prison just to appease the public.
They don't want to correct the system. And that's why props to the government who are taking seriously public service and governance.
I guess that the others still doesn't move from the tradition that they have seen in it and so, they only serve themselves.

Corruption is the main issue why people view taxes as something useless.  The tax we pay doesn't go back to the society instead it goes directly into their personal accounts. Thats why most of our government are able to have big companies and investments with tax payers money in the first world countries. Keeping taxes very low is good for we the citizens also  might no be really good for the government at times,  because they will need revenue to build infrastructures, pay worker salaries, security and health if they are not corrupt. It won't be good if they depend only on revenues from minerals or other unstable means of income, a fall in those revenue generators can cause massive problems. The main thing we need around these tax issue is accountability and transparency from the government.

Many governments increase taxes with the hopes of correcting their mistakes. By "mistakes", I mean reckless spending, printing money excessively, etc. In some countries, taxes are high, while wages are utterly low. The end result? People get poorer, while the government continues to grow its coffers unfairly.

Instead of taking the "high tax" approach, why can't just governments control their spending? Like in the US, avoiding adding more burden to the national debt instead of increasing taxes or adding unnecessary tariffs. Or they can just tax the rich, while giving a "free pass" to the poor (or even reduce the taxes). Although, this is very unlike to happen.

Government can not control their spending because of their selfishness and lack of understanding of what the citizens are facing, the government will borrow millions, billions and trillions of dollars without no doing anything, and all you will hear in the end is that there is not money in the country, where are those money that they borrowed? The worse part is that they are not even ashamed of themselves for increasing the tax without thinking of how it will affect the country.

Although some countries pay higher taxes but they paid it because of what the government is doing for them, some countries like mine can not relate, because the government continue borrowing money from different countries and keep complaining that their is no money in the country, they claim that their is no money but they are spending millions to make they win the next elections, that shows that taxes is not the solution to make a country better, it is the government that need to know how to manage the funds to make the country better.

When people think their money is going on something that is not benefiting public services and infrastructure, they would feel taxes are not serving a purpose... If people feel that their taxes are being used for “corruption,” then they feel there is no point in paying taxes. It remain significant, however as governments require constant income for essential services for the whole country, It is also risky to have only natural resources such as minerals as it can fluctuate in income.

Transparency and accountability is the key solution, not just reducing taxes. The governments should be transparent when it comes to collection and utilization of tax revenues and should investigate corrupt and misuse of public funds in due course. If citizens have confidence in the use of their taxes, then they are more likely to trust government and support taxes.
