8 casino about to permanently close

The eight casino's that would be affected where listed in the report so you could check to see if your favorite casino(s) as the case may be was or were affected by this.
Several reasons for the permanent close up of these casino were cited.

This is going to take away the fun gamers get from those casinos and also jobs of workers of these casinos.

"Maverick Washington LLC is currently subject to a bankruptcy proceeding and, as part of that proceeding, there could be a potential change of operator and/or owner for the site," she stated. "If the site is transitioned to a new owner/operator, the above-referenced closure may not occur, or alternatively, the closure could be delayed.

It's painful people would be out of job, but the company cannot help it at this point, they would have to seek employment elsewhere.

Yeah the interpretation points at expenses of the affected casinos which operating costs seems too much unusual and likely, the competitions between foreign individuals owned and native Americans owned casinos is highly too tough for commercial casinos to contend with and gain influence that can cover their expenses and as well make profits as the casino is concerned as a business venture.

Maybe there is a regulatory favourism there in Washington which maybe biased and practicing tribalism.
So the incompetent casinos that can not withstand the expenditures have to shutdown.

I think the problem here is much bigger than just gambers having to find another casino. Eight casinos shutting down is already a serious hit to the local market, especially if around 850 employees could lose their jobs.
But for the employees, finding a new job could be much more difficult, especially when several casinos in the same area are closing at the same time.
So personally, I think what happens to those 850 employees is a much more serious part of this story than the question of where the players will go next.

I understand it's tough, but there are currently layoffs all across the world, in all industries.

In cases with casinos, their skills are still pretty much transferable to the online industry. And the main edge is the they don't need to look for a job nearby. Don't need to move either. They can get hired by an online service from any country.

For what it's worth, no job is safe these days. And for most people it's tougher at best they might need to change the city. At worst - the whole specialty.

Online gambling is killing them because they refused to up their game or maybe their management were ignorant to moving with the trend. People would always choose convenience over being physically present to gamble. A combination of both would've given people more options and not see them loose so much clients.

I am not sorry for the company, but the 850 people loosing their sources of livelihood , sounds very sad to be out of job just 2 months to the end of the year, some guys might have a very boring Christmas.

Those casino that get closed are only small land based casino. They can't catch up the competition against mega-casino who offer much more attractive games and better vibes to play for the gamblers. So this is not surprising me at all.

As i know Meverick has been so struggled since the covid era, but they can still keep up their business until now due to their debt, yet nothing changed, and they unable to boost their revenue. So closing their service is the best instead of running in the negative book.

So far the affected casinos are all land based then I very much agree with you that a major reason for their shutdown must be because of the strong competition from online casinos which can be accessed from anywhere, with online casinos you don't have to physically walk into a casino inorder to gamble. I think that eventually it is only the very big physical casinos that would survive and the reason would be because they are very well established, their major clients would be tourists and moneybags who wants to enjoy themselves, most everyday people would prefer the convenience of online casinos to gamble.

I don't worry about these shutdown casinos customers because there are other physical casinos and a lot more online casinos for them to gamble on, it is their employees who depends on what they earn to survive, I hope they find other emoluments soon and move on.

That's a different Chips casino, the one mentioned in the link is a brick and mortar casino. At first look, I also thought it was the crypto casino that we all knew here, but since they mentioned Washington casinos there's no way it's the same one.

Times are rough for these types of casino, and I wouldn't be surprised if there are more with online casinos and prediction markets becoming the trend.

When I see a big business crumble, I start asking myself how will the workers and eve the owner of the business survive till they get another means of income. It's not funny for you to lose your job because during that period, you will be lacking behind financially.

I believe it's lack of funds that is the cause of the problem in the OP. Land based casinos are more expensive to operate than online casinos.
