one year ago on October 6, 2025 Bitcoin set its all-time high of $126 198.07 as Coinmarketcap shows:
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/unfortunately, that price level did not hold for long due to a number of factors, including macroeconomic ones. notable among these were the tensions between the US and Iran which had already emerged by then and escalated into open conflict in February, as well as Trump’s "tariff madness," which disrupted global trade. long-term holders who began selling off their Bitcoin also played a role. in your opinion, what factors drove the drop in Bitcoin's price back then and when might we see a return to that all-time high?
You have mentioned quite a number of factors that truly did affected the price as at that time, in as much as Bitcoin is decentralized and has got some level of independence, it is not completely independent of the global economic, it affects it in a way or the other and that is why whenever there's economic unrest, we see some price fluctuations with Bitcoin, investors reacts to these economic situations and in turn it affects their behaviours which subsequently affects the dynamics of Bitcoin because their collective investments impacts the valuation and pricing of Bitcoin in a way.
Another factor responsible for that which we witnessed at the time was the Bitcoin cycle. As a Bitcoin enthusiast, I want to believe you understand the Bitcoin cycle and various activities that takes place at certain points in the cycle, attaining new ATH is one characteristic we have seen common with Bitcoin at the Bull part of the cycle, and it was noted that as at the time we saw that Price surge, Bitcoin was at the Bull run phase which also has been known to be one of the short phases of the cycle, most times, the Bear has lasted longer than the Bull, then followed by the Halving and then the Bull. So we are in anticipation of another Bull run wherein we get to experience another ATH probably far above the most recent.
