I want to thank God almighty for helping and guiding me throughout this journey, I wrote my final exams today.

Today was my sign out and I decided to do cake for myself, I reached out to the baker and we discussed, I just wanted to pay with bitcoin and luckily he accepts crypto so I pay him with bitcoin, it was a smooth transaction.
That was my first time using bitcoin to pay for something here in Nigeria.

I have used bitcoin to buy some stuffs before, but with the abduction in France and some other countries that has been on the rise, I have thought that it could later become common in Nigeria. So I have stopped asking people to know if they can accept bitcoin or not. I just pay with naira.

Congratulations on your sign out, effort like this one should always be encouraged because if you go into the streets you will find that most children don't see the value of education again, there is this obsession with making money, it's so big that nothing else seems to matter.
It's good that you were able to use your bitcoin to purchase something, holding is good, but every once in a while there is nothing wrong with using it too, it was made to be used after all.

That can be better, but nobody knows who can be the enemy at anytime.

It is worth knowing that using coin control can be very helpful while sending your coins to someone you do not know in a way that the txid will not be used to link your other transactions or to know that you have huge amount of coin on an address or addresses.

Congratulations; it’s a good one to use bitcoin in real time as money not just a commodity or asset but however, the last time I use bitcoin to purchase something was when I got my latest gadget, the gadget vendors are bitcoin users they accept bitcoin almost every shop in the area since they are all young men and that is only place I know in Nigeria I can spend bitcoin but however I’ve not tried in other states.

It's full of stress that is the reason why when someone finally leaves the university environment after successfully finishing all his academic works it calls for a huge celebration.

But firstly this your post would have gotten more attention if maybe you posted a transaction ID or something of such nature which will make your claims original rather than just baseless because to me, your claims are baseless and why spend bitcoin to get a cake when you can spend fiat and not expose your wallet and its balance.

Please don't get my post wrong but rather treat is as a correction so you can learn from it, and it will be better if you show a form of receipt to validate your claims

Wow, that's awesome. I absolutely understand how you feel, because there is nothing better than when the person you are doing business with understands you without complaining, as not everybody would be able to accept Bitcoin. In fact, most people don't know about Bitcoin, let alone accept it as a means of payment.

But regards to your post, it is just what any ransom person will say. I believe that you would express same inquisitive if you heard this story from another person regarding the authentication of the information. A transaction prove would have given more credence to your post. I'm not in doubt that such transaction happened.

I have done a few transactions myself and although the adoption is there and the practical usage is real, I know for a lot of Nigerian businesses, it will still take time for them to adjust and adopt as well but definitely we can see progress as we have come a long way collectively.
Even in my own business I recently just started collecting crypto as payment, not like if someone had offer to pay in Crypto I won't have accepted but actually it was because this particular client wanted to pay in Crypto that's when I just said "yea, I accept crypto payments". So I know for sure, time is all it will take but adoption is definitely growing

Nigerian schooling no be for de weak, it's good you're using Bitcoin for purchases within the country, na how adoption  go take increase be dat, when we practice strict peer-to-peer transactions. Now you don establish better standard, anytime wey you contact dat vendor now, him don know say na BTC him go collect from you and you go fit refer am to any of your friends wey wan pay with BTC and the chain of adoption go dey long dey go. I can just imagine telling a cake maker that you are paying in bitcoin, most of them that are will be willing to accept it will want to charge you high because of the assumption that anyone that owns bitcoin is already a very rich person. it is good to see that even in smaller thing, we are still making use of bitcoin for carrying out such form of transaction.

Seeing more people willing to accept bitcoin for payment is a strong indicator of the extent of bitcoin adoption in the country.
