It's the same question as why we uses exchanges when they require KYC from us. So it could be for convenience that gamblers are more willing to do it. Imagine you win big money and suddenly the platform ask you for a KYC?

So obviously you don't have a choice but to comply because you want to get your reward. Interest in gambling is not connected on having KYC and letting anyone ask it from you. but there are some casino who dont require KYC until you made a jackpot and will withdraw bigtime.  This is the time that a gambler will have less interest on that platform and will definitely find a new one. Didn't you hear about NO KYC casinos? because majority of gamblers don't like KYC, usually goes with verified non KYC compliant casinos.

Because at the first place there are some casino does not have KYC just to gamble on their platform. So at the first place its the players obligation to check first if the casino is a non-kyc or kyc mandate. Now because of the frustration of their problem with their account such as other gambler have a huge balance with their wallet instead of losing a money they are willing to sacrifice their KYC or identity as an exchange to the casino to prove that they are a legit player and they did not abuse the casino itself so its just a privacy exchange to your money.

Well, that's their risk to take. We all have a choice about where and what gambling site we want to use, and whether KYC is needed, we can accept it or just look for another one without it.

Look, there are still gambling sites who doesn't require KYC, although it's risky to gamble using their service. Now, that's a problem that we are willing to take because there's a chance that it can be a scam. So, at the end of the day, it's the gambler's choice whether he will do it or not.

Gambling as a matter of fact should have nothing to do with your personal information. people have different reason for why they are gambling that doesn't matter here i guess. i think the main reason why people fear the KYC is how institutions have been selling users data that are later used against them. if only our data cam be safely entrusted in the hand of the platform that are requesting for the KYC i am sure no body will be scared or even complain.

I also don’t buy that excuse some players give; they should be willing before playing either. They give in, or they abandon the money they won from that casino to go. I think this was more of a problem in the earlier days (years) of bitcoin when there were many fewer laws and regulations that encroached on people's anonymity. One of the biggest benefits of crypto was it's transparency and it was much harder to determine who owned coins. However since the price has steadily spiked there has been an influx of retail investors who are quite happy to buy and hold via exchanges. That has massively weakened the whole privacy chain in many ways as they often require KYC if you have any kind of sizable holding. Some sites are also blacklisting coins that have had any connection with certain industries (gambling sites) or sanctioned sites (,certain P2P sites or mixers). Getting back to your point though, I don't think the majority of people outside of hardcore bitcoin fanatics are really that bothered by sharing KYC these days - as long as it looks secure and is treated with the proper care.
