Nobody is paying for the discount and that's why they aren't calling it a subsidy, I don't like it, you don't like it, that much we can agree on but sometimes we really need to stop pushing our own narrative in order to make something suddenly seem like what it's not, at the moment we don't know how much of a discount they are going to give but the fact that it will only happen at NNPC pump stations already creates a problem, what about the private stations? If you want to complain then that's what you complain about.
Well said, although the discount is no longer hidden now and it’s about #66/litre which you can only claim by scanning a barcode and downloading an NNPCL app that allows you access to this. Heard it extends for about a week or so. Don’t know if this is Tinubu’s discount and don’t even care any less about it. I suppose it’s just one means for NNPCL to get people into using their app, a way to have it launched into the market and their isn’t any much difference from this and what we experience with other businesses. What I don’t like however, is how obligation government owes to the people is made to look like privilege, that’s not okay.

Such news are clear signs that the Nigerian government government doesn’t value her citizens because what will a 30 days subsidy do in this poor economy, instead of government to bring policies that will strengthen local investors and bring lasting economic stability they are busy talking about a temporary cushion of 30 days simply because the elections are closely, Nigerians already know Tinubu and this failed APC administration, no amount of eye service in form of subsidy will prevent the masses from voting him out.
Nigerians have felt hardship under previous administrations but this Tinubu own is far worse, the killings and economic hardship is alarming and i doubt that any Nigerian will want to accept this petty reliefs called subsidy from them, what Nigerians want is a complete reform and not subsidy.
Is it even all about the so called discount which I’m still trying to figure out what it means in clear terms. The minister called it a discount but I don’t think government can give or should give his citizens a discount other than the subsidy we know or maybe tax rebates or other targeted welfare programs like we saw with the National Cash Transfer Program but an outright discount is something which comes dlrectly from the seller who in this case are the NNPCL. The company is standing alone as an entity and should make such pronouncements themselves and not the minister during a gathering comprised of different politicians and that’s when and why the minister deemed it fit to make such pronouncements there so it can in a way add to their political scorecard which is the main reason why he did so but we are patently waiting for the day we will also have the opportunity to show our strength and voice, I hope by then the minister will be more than ready to intervene else they may all vacate their respective positions.

One month discount is funny to me and look at the time that the government is giving the discount. Something that the government will take back during the festival period because it's a norm that the government extorts us with hike in fuel price during Christmas celebration. What about the people living in the places that doesn't have NNPC filling station, are they part of this discount. This is a shameful move LOL.
Well said, this Government is a disgrace, why removing fuel subsidy for 30 days what is that supposed to even mean, if you want to remove fuel subsidy why don’t they do it for a long duration of time, I don’t know what they expect people who doesn’t have NNPC fuel station close by to do, how do they also benefit from this so called 30 days discount, then they’re made to suffer because they’re the once who will mostly buy from other private fuel stations, it’s just a disgrace that Nigeria have gotten to this level, now I heard private fuel stations have increased their prices to 1900 Nigerian Naira, how do they expect people to cope in this kind of situations, by increasing more hardship for the common man, however I heard this people intentionally increased the price of the private fuel stations, so they can come back in one month time to reduce it to 1400 Nigerian Naira, that is their strategy for the festive season, and also before the Presidential Election in January.

If we can survive the hard time of fuel subsidy, we do not need their fuel. Because of them I will be looking for NNPC fuel station to buy cheap fuel? I am not going to do that if I am in Nigeria. No need for the government to give us any discount that some people will only use to get money into their bucket. Who know if this is 2027 election move.
What else do you think if it is not election move? They think they can use this to fool people again, and trust me many people are going to fall for this and vote for Tinubu in the next election. If no be insult, we have been struggling for years now because fuel, and they still believe that by reducing the price by 66 naira, people will leave the other fuel station and get a fuel at NNPC, what’s the the difference between the other fuel stations that sell fuel at 1400? We don’t even get any level to this government anymore. Because of 66 naira, I’m not even sure if their liter good enough for people to do such thing. Does this government even know what we buy foodstuffs at the market? When the fuel price change, everything increases in price, and a 66 naira discount for 30 days. Honestly, Tinubu must go by 2027 if we can. This is even worse than any other government. He no even use better strategy fool people for the next election.

What else do you think if it is not election move? They think they can use this to fool people again, and trust me many people are going to fall for this and vote for Tinubu in the next election. Blame it on those that like to go social media to say something but they are not going to the polling unit to vote on the election day. The discount is just 60 naira and someone have to pay through an app. I do not think it is worth the stress. I even hard that fuel is now expensive in some states in Nigeria.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu initiated the 30 days fuel discount all because of his second tenure ambition of becoming Nigeria president, but thank God Nigerians are gradually becoming wise lately and they are seeing our politicians take us as fools, this 30 days fuel discount won't help Bola Ahmed buy the minds of the Nigerians so that they can vote for him in the upcoming presidential election. Even though NNPC fuel station is close to me I won't buy fuel there until Bola Ahmed Tinubu's 30 day fuel discount is over because I'm not a fool and I don't need his discount to survive.

This is a clueless government they don’t know what they are doing, they are confused, running from pillar to posts without direction. I was surprised when I saw the news that subsidy is back for 30 days. Is that not a mockery to his government that announced that the subsidy era was gone. Why now, what suddenly changed that the 30 day subsidy became necessary. Nigerians should wake up this is the right time to change this government.
Since 2023 to date that we started facing a lot of challenges and fortunately we are able to resist any hardship that was painted on us by our president, and the most funniest part is that they are coming back to give us relief of 30 days, this is so painful I don't think 30 days will show any thing here. Nigerians are getting along with the hardship to the extent that we have even included it as part of our daily life. It has become normal to us now and I don't see anything our president can do to bring the relief unless they bring it back fully, they are even ashamed of announcing it because they know we don't care about them anymore. No amount of any relief they can bring now to make Nigerians have trust on them. The only thing I like with our people be say, no matter how the hardship is with due time we all endures and moved on with our life. Even as I see the subsidy removal, I was just laughing that all these are political propaganda and they are looking fir wats to deceive people again in the next coming election, ever since this APC came into the power, the county economy is not in a bearable state again, people are suffering from hunger, killing of our innocents people, kidnapping and bandits. Well I don't know how many of us views these politicians but, to God who made me, these people are not after our lives, it's just now left for us to double our hustle and keeping surviving through, if not we still have a long way go if this era continues or win again in 2027 election. All the funds that was discovered after the subsidy removal, what exactly do they used it for, we are just fooling ourselves in this country. But nevertheless na still our country we go they rock am dey go like that.

I wonder where some citizens who becomes praise singer of government that we know has nothing to offer will start because this initiative is purely political for the current campaign that is ongoing for Tinubu second term, without missing words Nigeria has over 24000 fuel station all over the country some state don't even have UpTo 15 NNPLC Petro station imagine state with 24 local government all the the citizens who uses car, motorcycle will go que for another local government for Petro of discount of 66 naira, it's laughable the issue is not that once you get to the station your entitled to getting the Petro but will scan and register for the Petro who knows the purpose for the data collection, in Nigeria many things happen to gain vote directly or indirectly.

Correction sir Petrol is not 1900 , thats a false news , it actually Diesel price. Most States are selling @1370 or 1400 due to transportation cost (tanker fee cost). The new outlet that published this information has already come out to correct their mistakes, this why it's good for we Nigerians to make proper research before believing in any media propagandas that can change the narratives of an outcome. The discount is just for NNPCL , not for private gas stations. Private gas stations can sell their Petrol with a little increase from the initial price that they used in bought from the deport (dangotes, Matrix or other Petrol products importers). Our problem is just the lack of refineries and allocated share of crude oil we produced per day.
