Theymos, there is currently an ongoing hack involving Ledger devices. Apparently funds are currently being drained from users who bought their device from a particular rogue reseller. Losses are ~ $90m as of this time.

There could be some users in his forum who also purchased from that reseller. So, i think you should make a thread about it in the Important Announcement board and also pin it in the News spot in the forum's homepage, in order for them to move their funds immediately.

The hack is discussed here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5596352.msg67223204#msg67223204

Done, thanks!

In my mind, an authorized reseller selling bugged devices is the nail in the coffin for Ledger. I'll be actively recommending against Ledger from now on.

Do you think that the modified Ledgers that we are talking about in this particular case are something worse than the fact that Ledger, as a hardware wallet manufacturer, has the possibility to extract the seed from the user's device and share it with third parties? For me and the majority of members who have been advocating for years the cessation of using their devices, this is a much bigger problem.

If we add to that the hundreds of thousands of personal data of their clients that have been leaked since 2020, I think you are quite late with your decision. Still, regardless of everything, I have no doubt that a lot of people will continue to use their devices.
