Gone where the days that Bitcoin can be mine by ordinary PC. But this is how Bitcoin is design by Satoshi, as in every cycle, it is being halved and so the difficulty increases. For sure there were some that even mine it before, but it's not sustainable for a solo miner. Now, we have big companies and mining is a business. As far as being successful, even if we can't solo mine it with ordinary computers, it's obvious that it has moved forward becoming the biggest asset since Gold.

The Bitcoin blockchain remains vastly superior for ~17 years; I am not convinced it will succeed in the way you expect. I have been looking for PoW coins that can still be mined using a CPU, and here is what I have found so far : - Vertcoin(VTC)
- Ravencoin(RVN)
You can draw your own conclusions about their current level of success. What I see, they are becoming increasingly buried under PoS-based altcoins and other consensus algorithms.

It's just like the law of nature in terms of competition because there is no way a tractor can compete with a sports car especially when the technology is getting more and more sophisticated then certainly everyone wants things faster. Another analogy, when it is in network selection then now you may not be in 2G / 3G while others choose 5G. this is what will happen in the mining problem. Nowadays the sophistication of technology is increasingly felt and when you still expect ordinary PCs to get extraordinary results (for now it is clearly impossible) because from the beginning the competition is difficult when other miners use ASICs that are noticeably faster. This is why mining cannot be done by everyone who is in bitcoin because even though mining now depends on the luck of the blocks being mined (in terms of results) but from the beginning we must know there is decent capital so the quality that can be produced will also be better.

"Keep it" here could be understood as a totalitarian rule that prevents natural competition, freedom, and organic growth. These directly go contrary to the ideals of decentralization. Do you think it's fair for participants to be forced to remain in the past, prevented from using upgraded, more powerful computers, when the network is supposed to be open for everybody? But, yeah, Satoshi got your sentiment somehow. It's just that Satoshi would have to decide in favor of what's actually better for the network. We should have a gentleman's agreement to postpone the GPU arms race as long as we can for the good of the network. It's much easer to get new users up to speed if they don't have to worry about GPU drivers and compatibility. It's nice how anyone with just a CPU can compete fairly equally right now.

You sound like someone who either lacks knowledge and understanding, or someone who hates Bitcoin, because someone with even basic knowledge about how the system works would know the reason why it is not possible anymore to mine bitcoin blocks with a simple PC. The difficulty and competition is so high that you need a very high hash power to be able to mine blocks and that can only be gained with a very powerful system, because your simple PC can't generate enough power to be able to compete with others in the network. If, for example, there weren't so many miners competing to mine blocks, there wouldn't be a need for using high-end systems to mine bitcoin, because the difficulty wouldn't increase if the blocks aren't being mined very quickly, but since miners keep using better systems and higher power, the blocks get mined quickly, and the network automatically increases the difficulty because of that, and which is why you can't do anything with a PC based on where the difficulty has reached by now.

The scarce is the thing that make Bitcoin priceless and makes people chase it.
Mind you that BTC would still be scarce, even if it were still possible to mine BTC on a PC, the tradeoff is in the security of the network and not in its capped supply. A higher hashrate means greater network security and that is achieved through more computational power. If it were still possible to mine on PCs, rather than powerful ASICs, there would be an economical benefit for an attacker to gain 51% of the network's hashrate. The ordinary computer can't mine because the algorithm change and needs specific hardware to mine.
The algorithm didn't change per se. The difficulty and hashrate increased, so in order to stay competitive and profitable, you need powerful mining gears.

You probably want to compare Bitcoin to other mining projects that anyone can easily mine. But nowadays you can try to mine Bitcoin using your home computer, but with the efforts of so many miners, your computer's CPU may not be strong enough to find the block and mine it. Now many people use very powerful, high-capacity computers for Bitcoin mining. I think this is fair.

It might be too simple if you judge Bitcoin's success based solely on the fact that it can be mined by anyone. Even though that idea is pretty interesting, because who wouldn't want to mine Bitcoin from their own computer - but the thing is, it's not like that - Satoshi designed Bitcoin mining with a difficulty mechanism. So even though mining Bitcoin is limited to people who are capable of doing it, Bitcoin is still successful as a decentralized money, which is secure and can be accessed by everyone globally.

Indeed, algorithm that regulates the level of computational complexity is the one used to establish definite rhythm of coins production. Mining coins with help of simple computer will just degrade the value of this crypto currency making it look cheap and not prestigious financially. Requirements in the sphere of integrated circuit design mean investing real money into proving the validity of each new block of operations. Rarity of such coins, which are mined under great efforts, caused capital accumulation desires and price rises.

And who says Bitcoin isn't a successful currency or running its Blockchain transactions successfully so fair? When bitcoin was first launched, you can mine with your PC but the industry is more bigger now that running a mining farm with your PC won't make any sense and mining equipments are very expensive that's why it's not reasonable to do so. You can participate in the ecosystem by running a Bitcoin node or owning Bitcoin (you can do both). The industry' isn't unsuccessful if you're thinking it is but just lacking behind in adoption which will obviously come with time because the industry is still quite new and still have more years for development and adoption. If you want to start mining, you'll be competing against mage farms that runs on thousands of dollars just for maintainance and electricity consumption so imagine trying to compete with that, just isn't worth it financially.

The mining difficulty is based on how many people are trying to mine the block, back in 2009 it was possible with CPU but now even with ASICs it is like hitting a lottery when you do it as a solo miner. That means the system is working as supposed to be mainly the fair part, who brings more computational power has the more chances to mine the block. And Bitcoin is already the most successful crypto then what you mean it would be? What exactly are you looking for... Even XMR that can't be mined with ASIC still unprofitable to mine for them average joes, Proof of Work is game of computing power, even in a scenario where the system limit computational by IP, the big guy, those who runs mining farm would buy IPs, when a strict system can be gamed like that might as well go with the free market way where everyone can participate as long as they have what it takes. If Bitcoin could keep it so that everyone can mine fairly with an ordinary computer, then I think Bitcoin would definitely be a very successful blockchain. And if its throughput were a bit higher.
Throughput is linked to block size and block time isn't it? more miner doesn't mean higher throughput.

Again, with the equality stuff - someone with a better computer will mine more than someone with an older one - someone with 3 computers will mine 3 times more than someone with one - someone who can buy computers cheaply will be able to ROI faster than others - someone with cheaper energy will be able to make a profit where others would see expenses
Even if you design an algorithm where eveything is needs rcpu, ram, vram, disk space, there will still be farms for this if mining is profitable and the averge joe with a 2 yo computer will be priced out.

At the early days it was possible and easy to mine Bitcoin using a computer This wouldn't make it necessarily fair since anybody can own more than one computer with the right Resource.
Technology to mine improved and to compete better many had to follow suite. It's similar to the fact that everybody can use a sword in a war But what does it mean when others are using rocket launchers or guns. You can still try to mine Bitcoin with a computer but the likelihood of winning is lower than winning a lottery.
This won't make it necessarily fair since anybody can own more than one computer? I am lost with this reply because even right now some people own high numbers of Asic miners than others, not fair too? We were able to use computer to mine Bitcoin because the mining difficulty was zero to none, slowly it starts to increase and the same computers can't keep up any longer.

Bitcoin's mining difficulty is not a fixed thing, it fluctuates on its own depending on how many miners are working on the network. Initially due to low competition, blocks could be obtained with a regular PC CPU, but now the situation is such that even with a powerful ASIC machine, it takes luck like winning the lottery to mine alone. In fact, the Bitcoin system is designed this way and this is the real justification that the more hashpower it provides, the more likely it is to get rewards. Maybe in the future, mining competitions will continue with quantum computers. Then, mining rewards will not be available even with ASIC machines.

The hidden problem in this idea is the word fairly. Bitcoin can count work, but it cannot count people. If you try to give every person the same mining chance, the network first has to know who is one person and who is running a hundred machines behind different connections, and that requires some kind of identity check. Once you add identity, mining is no longer permissionless, which is a much bigger change than keeping the old PC algorithm would have been.
It is also worth separating access from reward. Nobody is stopped from pointing an ordinary computer at the network today, the chance of finding a block is just so small that it makes no economic sense. That is very different from being excluded. And the second part of the suggestion, higher throughput, has the same trade-off in reverse. Bigger or faster blocks raise the cost of running a full node, so fewer ordinary users would verify the chain themselves. I would rather keep the form of participation that lets a normal PC check every rule independently, even if the mining reward itself has moved to specialized hardware.

You didn't see how Bitcoin became so successful these days? Also this is what you really think on how Bitcoin will became successful? Since if that's the case happening you will probably diluting the market with many Bitcoins in the market. People will not also think about Bitcoin is valuable asset. If people can simply mine it with ordinary computer. So current set up is good and I think you have lots of misconceptions about Bitcoin. So do more research, since for sure that you will learn more about this coin and what make it so unique asset compare on other shitcoins.

The reality is that Bitcoin has moved beyond that stage. As long as mining rewards economic efficiency, specialised hardware and cheap electricity will naturally outperform ordinary computers. Even if Bitcoin increases its transaction speed, making mining fair for everyone is unlikely without changing how the network works. Regardless, I still do not like how a tiny section of miners controls the economics. Regardless, I still dislike how mining power and its economic benefits have become concentrated in the hands of a relatively small group of players.

Technically, a CPU can mine Bitcoin, but you could be running it for 10 years without finding a block. The difference between the CPU and ASIC is that the ASIC is built specifically for calculating Bitcoin mining hashrate. That means miners using ASIC computers will find a result that meets the network's difficulty target before those using the CPU. Back in the days when there was no difficulty, finding a block using a CPU was possible. I am not certain, but Satoshi mined the first block with a CPU.

Just like gold mining. It was traditionally mined using simple tools, and it was a bit easier to find. Then, because it has value, people started competing with each other to get more than others, faster than others, using more advanced tools to make the process more effective and efficient. It makes people who still do it traditionally using simple tools think twice about mining gold their way, because most of them will eventually lose against those with more advanced tools. I also think that it's difficult to achieve fair mining, because computer specifications are different from one another. Different specifications, different computer prices, different electricity consumption, different electricity costs.
