The writer may be making some sense but I don't think that everybody judges a good and a bad trade based on the same criteria for instance for some persons a good trade is simply a trade that yields them profits, that is simply good enough for them to consider the trade good, but for that person like the writer, a good trade does not always mean a trade that ends in profits but a trade that goes further to satisfy another requirement that he has set. Some persons may set more extreme requirements a trade must fulfil before they see it as a good trade. A good trade must end in profit in my view, when it ends in profit, that itself is a good trade before any other requirement.
You are right, everyone perspectives of a good or bad trades is different. What A sees as a good trade might be judge differently by B. My definition of a good trade is a trade that is successful which means you made profits from it. So any trade that you make profits from is consider a good trade by me. I really don't expect others to agree with my opinion on this because that's my own definition of a good trade. However, A bad trade should be the opposite of a good trade, since what i consider as a good trade is a profitable trade then a bad should be one that didn't give you any profits.

--- And at what point can we say a trade is a bad trade even after making us some good profit.
From an objective standpoint read what this trader had to say base on his experience as a trader that has being trading for years just as you. With your own true experiences share your disagreement and agreement with about his idea
There are some who feel bad for themselves because yes they made some buckos, but they didn't follow their plan, and that's fine because like what you said, your rewarding yourself from having a bad behavior or at least not following your rules, and at one point if you continue to do this kind of thing, it will be repeated more, and more, and more, until that bad behavior will turn against you. If I made profit while following my own strategy and rules, I usually don't see my trades anymore nor not feeling anything as well. Now if I made money but didn't follow my own rules, I don't feel anything as well emotion-wise but instead, I look at that trade and see why I didn't follow my own rules. I look at my mistake and then I will note it to myself and as much as possible, I will not do it again. It works most of the time, but there really are a few times where I just complete ignore it and will just move on even though I know that I didn't follow my own rules. Is it still a bad trade? Yes, IF it continues to be like that. One trade isn't enough to say it because that's maybe because the trader is just lucky. Doing it for 50-60 trades then there's already a problem that will pop up.

Traders who are giving more impression to what the trade is called than how profitable it is need to look at their priority. Why are you trading for? so that you'll get the record that you have made a good trade instead of making money? That's not bad though but you must look at what you're really trying to do when you trade. Because if you just want to have a good trade then do the demo trading and it won't cost you money if you lose and then results in a bad one but, it won't even make you money if you make a good trade out of it. Priorities.

We all know that the main purpose of trading is to make profit, every person enters here to make profit by trading. If someone says that from their point of view, profit is not the main purpose, then I think it is a completely unreasonable comment, the main purpose of trading is to increase your money, not to make profit from it. And even when a good profit is obtained from trading, trading often turns bad, especially when a person uses excessive leverage and large amounts of money in trading. There are many who plan to trade with more money to make a lot of money in a short time, such greed arises in them and I think this is a bad trading goal. From the point of view of an experienced person, trading is mainly done with the aim of making profit, moreover, everyone has been trading for years to gain skills and experience so that they can avoid losses. Basically, every person enters here with the aim of making profit from trading and they try to make themselves experienced, experienced traders always trade with their psychological condition which leads them to success.

I can say it will depends on the traders perspective sometimes there are traders who aim a particular amount and target in each trades they have but unfortunately the same as mine is I do prefer all of the trades profitable are all good trades because at the first place that's why we are committing trading we are aim to earn money through market movement, small wins still considered as a win no matter what amount is and not just less than with your capital and investment. Sometimes when people experienced a lot of profit, they get greedy and chase for more.

The Martingale strategy is highly profitable 99.99% of the time, but sooner or later a "Black Swan" event arrives and wipes you out completely. Its more of MartinFail than anything else. I dont see how you are saying it to be highly profitable because casinos will block the maximum possible bets and even though exchanges will not do that, martingale needs an infinitely large bankroll at hand to execute it with winning, the player has to sustain the losses for a long period of time before a doubled win comes in. This is tough to accept but is the reality and is why many pumped up players attempt to use martingale in trading and gambling and up losing money till its too late. I suggest keeping yourself limited to spot trading and observe the market first before starting, or do dummy trading and learn the methods to cope with movements.

Yes, of course, the trader who can continue trading with a cool head after making a profit or loss is the real trader. Making profits and losses all the time is not a sign of a good trader, but the person who can keep his mind calm after making a profit or loss and can trade without any worries in a healthy mind is the real trader.
The mindset of trading without anxiety may be a sign of a good trader, but constantly experiencing profits and losses is part of trading. I don't know, how you would consider this definition. However, the main objective of the majority of traders is to collect profits and make efforts for accurate market analysis. Since a trader adds liquidity through their actions and those who generally profit. In my opinion, that person is a true trader. When a person spends a lot of time on market analysis and is able to make correct decisions. Indirectly, they do not need to calculate their profits and losses.

I hope you also know that some people that gives trade ideas and chart to people especially the signals don't trade. There are many of them that study trading, use their time to master trading and tools and then start dropping signals for followers. Luckily if the followers noticed they are good at what they do and they see VIP signal, they are quick to join. That's where some of them get money to start trading journey on their own, you will never see them do it with their money. A trader that is after making profits will have no time to entertained you, they are going to make their charts and make their profits and moves to the next one. If it's even possible for them to short the same market they make money, they will do it secretly and share profit later. That's how real traders make money. This is why anytime I see trading influencers that shows exotic cars baffles me, most aren't traders.

But here there's someone with a total different view on that, even though I almost ask myself what's the essence of trading if it's not to make profit?! And at what point can we say a trade is a bad trade even after making us some good profit. From an objective standpoint read what this trader had to say base on his experience as a trader that has being trading for years just as you. With your own true experiences share your disagreement and agreement with about his idea [ From this write up, this person is a professional trader who has been trading for long, trading can be his hobby because how on earth can you make profit and call it a mistake and you don’t appreciate it by calling it a bad trade, this means the trader already knows what he can do in the market and knows the type of profit he called profit not $1k that if many of us have as profit we will call ourselves a professional traders, this trader knows what he wanted and will always go for that. Some of us need to learn more about trading, but what is stopping some of us the capital to trade. If you hardly survive or survive by your means alone and have no enough spare money to trade, you will never take big risk to see your trade in such profit and still call it a bad trade, you will appreciate it.

You do not have a good trade that ends with a loss, that is just not a logical thing to say at all. I think people who are trying to make this "strategy" thing more important are the ones who think that they are doing something right, but that is not the case. In reality, we are talking about something that won't be all that crazy, and we shouldn't be worried about anything that big; we need to realise these are all normal situations for a profit-making trade. I do not care if your strategy is good or bad; if you made a profit, then it was a good trade, even if it was just 1 dollar. I may accept the "not all losses are bad trades" thing, that one is understandable, you could make a decent trade logic and still lose, but you will not have a bad logic and profit.

Except you are been really random with your trades, trading is beyond just winning a single trade, and that is why no broker, propfirm or investor will regard you as a good trader judging based off a single successful trade. Single successful traders doesn't makes someone a successful trader because its very likely they may not be able to repeat such, and untill you can repeat such, then it can be considered you are becoming successful because you have obviously built a skill that has helped you maintain that track record, and so you can always build on that skill to reproduce that result over and over again.
Winning a trade after going against your rules is a sign of indiscipline and it actually builds up , after the first act of indiscipline that turns out successful, you may want to try it again and before you know it, it becomes a habit that you will want to try out any time you probably are on a loosing streak, hoping you could be lucky and gradually you could loose your discipline repeating this habit over a period of time.

If someone makes profit from a trade by chance then that is not a good trade but if the same person makes multiple times that profit by following a good strategy then he is a good trader.
One profitable trade won’t make someone a good trader but if someone can do 100 plus such trades then that person is good at trading because luck can work one time or even 10 times but not 100 times.
I like the last part about the luck factor and it's just to say that where luck only really exists is in gambling activities. An effort repeated several times with a great strategy brings consistent results and luck has nothing to do with it, because a pattern is followed to achieve the desired result, but when a desired result is achieved without a proper understanding or great strategy on board, it's more or less trying ones luck and in the end statistically, it's simply just a bad idea to continue because loss would definitely be greater than profit. This to me separate a good trader from a wishful gambler.

From an objective standpoint read what this trader had to say base on his experience as a trader that has being trading for years just as you. With your own true experiences share your disagreement and agreement with about his idea [ My definition of a trade is the entire order made in a day. By my definition, this order shouldn't be called a bad trade, nor should it be called a good trade. The parameters to rate a trade have to be measured by the results from all the orders done for that day. In addition, if a trader made a profit by mistake, he doesn't have to be happy because it was luck, not his strategy. However, the outcome of a trade should not be judged solely by profit and loss, but rather by the decisions, strategies, and risk management of the entire day. A profitable outcome does not necessarily mean a good decision, nor does a loss necessarily mean a bad decision. However, in my opinion, if a trader makes a profit once a day without a plan, it can certainly be due to his luck. But if he relies on his own strategy and claims to be an expert again, it is wrong. However, if a trader analyzes the market well according to his plan and can control the risk properly later, if he still faces that loss, it can be due to the uncertainty of the market. In my opinion, the most important lesson is that trading should not be done only with the aim of making money, but rather to create a consistent and effective process that can yield a positive result in the long run.

There is more to this of what is being argued here. Some people see a strategy that works for them and they keep making profit from it, then all of a sudden, the strategy becomes ineffective to them and they begin to lose trades. Is it normal that one sticks to it and assume that those are the bad days of trading, and just allow the market to keep taking from them? Or a second scenario, where a person knows that’s not their strategy and then decides to try another one out that works for them, will the person see that as a good trade and say they’ve did well even when they went against their own rules? In a good context of trading, one will say they’re both not good ways to trade but if one is profiting from such trades, a lot will immediately believe that as long as profit is coming, then it is a good trade irrespective of the method the market was approached with.

If you are mentally prepared to make quick profits, you will be successful in trading. Many people will have different trading goals, but your goal should be to be patient and make informed decisions about the market. While every trader's goal is to make a profit, some traders strategically buy for a certain period of time and accumulate coins in their portfolios and wait for a favorable market.
There are traders with different perspectives. Take advice from them, but you have to take the risk of the funds, so use such an amount of funds that you will not need the funds very soon, meaning that the market situation may be down most of the time or stable, at that time you will build up holdings and sell when the market rises.
Waiting for more profits is also not a good decision in some cases. You have to take a good decision by considering every aspect of the movement and past analysis of the purchased coin and market cap and your financial capacity.

You made a good point, anyone can be lucky on the first trial so being lucky doesn't make the person successful or a good trader cause the next attempt might not bring good result. Anyone who can win more when they win than losing more when they lose is a good trader cause a good trader is good at managing risk and avoiding too much lose. A good trader doesn't just depend on luck but strategise on consistent wins. Also, a good trader doesn't go all in but use little percent of their discretionary income so the person doesn't chase lose but accept his fate whenever there's a lose.

Based on my own experience and hearing various stories with different versions from traders who have been in the market for a long time, i’ve concluded that a good trader is one who focuses solely on one or two strategies, rather than using different strategies in every trading session. I reached this conclusion after conducting numerous backtests with my own strategies, the fact is, not all of our trades will be profitable, there will inevitably be losses. Even a professional trader is bound to experience losses, and this happens repeatedly, what matters most is the final result. I always evaluate my trades every month, if the final result is a profit, then the strategy has proven effective. I then go back to evaluate the losing trades, identifying what went wrong and correcting it immediately, since the losses may stem from poor money management or a failure to adhere to the established trading plan.

I would say if you keep collecting and waiting for the right market, then you are an investor. Surely there are a lot of people who get dozens of coins and keep piling up more and more of them everyday. But that doesn't mean that we are going to end up with that much of a large situation that easily; it doesn't feel the same way. I think it is clear that we are going to end up with a lot more trouble on the long run, because the best we can do in this case would be the fact that we are dealing with troubles. If you are that much of a long-term holder, you are an investor. But if you want to be trader, then you look for quick profits, if possible in 10 minutes, that's how fast you want to be, not that you can every time. Sometimes it takes all day, sometimes maybe few days, but the goal is to get rid of the coin with a profit as soon as possible.

Yes you are right and I completely agree with you. A trader should not focus on all the strategies but should become so skilled in a few trading strategies that the strategies he uses should have a 90% chance of success all the time. If we focus on only a few strategies and if we do not sit and trade every day and after 2 or 3 consecutive days, trading opportunities arise and we make a profit by trading, then it is still good for us. It is much better to make a profit by trading a few than to face losses by trading a lot. There are many strategies in trading, if a person wants to learn all the strategies, then he may not be able to learn any of them and may always face losses. So learn a few methods and make yourself very skilled in those methods.
