I think this is not a new story in case of those country who actually banned on gambling. Now, if I talk about my country Bangladesh, then such incidents are seen here too from time to time that even though gambling is strictly prohibited here, there are new like that online casinos were run indirectly through ex-government party stakeholders and even the ex-head of Bangladesh's RAB (Rapid Action Battalion). They conducted all these activities only to launder their illegal money and at the same time to increase it further.

It really helps if you explain what TNI Official is for people who are not familiar because my first question was: is that a company? An official organisation? A TV network? Had to do some searching before realizing that it's actually the army headquarters being raided by the army. That's pretty shocking and goes to show how corruption has seeped into every part of the country. Whether it's a civilian government or military, there are people that start to abuse the power they are given and effectively act like a cartel. No doubt raids against "competitors" were carried out from this location as well. The investigation and punishment should be transparent though because that is the only way to restore any lost trust in the army.

It is indeed very unfortunate that this is the current state of things in some countries.

Some countries tend to be strict in the enforcement of their anti-gambling laws but it seems like such only applies to regular businesses or people who have no influence or connections in the government. On the other hand, some strict and government establishments have gambling for themselves given that they have the power to enforce such rules and they exclude themselves from such coverage.

The problem is, who can the people complain to? If the government itself is the abuser of power, then where can the normal individual seek redress for such violations?

That's what I fear- the government has the power to control the narrative and take advantage of such power for themselves. If they are the ones who violate the very same laws and rules they created, then this would only be a recipe for disaster in the near future.

Hey, I often see you in global thread bros @YOSHIE, just realized that you're actually from Indonesia. At first, I was puzzled as to how you knew about this case, but after checking your post history on BitList, I discovered that we come from the same country.

Discussing this case, I'm also fed up with the existing regulations in our country, even though gambling is an illegal activity, it continues to operate as if it were legal. In my opinion, it would be better for our country to legalize it so that we could benefit from taxes on those gambling sites.

No surprises for me in this! Yes, all are human beings and gambling's attractions and addictive nature are powerful enough to induce anyone to try like this. So, we need to move like even people from law enforcement duties may break law and will use government properties for illegal purposes. Same way, those corruption preventive officials are highly corruptive in my country. Still, making use of a government headquarters for running gambling related things sounds like too extreme in my opinion as well. But as a gambler, I could understand their urge on gambling.

Yeah, I agree with that. It seems like after they caught someone, they stop there. They would not even look for the mastermind or whoever is behind all of it. But let's also face the truth. Those who are in power that is behind all of that, or the mastermind of everything, if he is a politician or in authority, either they won't do anything about it, or they will win the case.
They make money from all of that illegal sh*t that they are doing, and it's possible that there are already good lawyers that will protect them, or they will let them go even if they are caught doing it.

Even law enforcement officials such as police and the military are treated as enemies by citizens because they often manipulate the law behind the scenes. Ordinary people can't do nothing because they don't have power, that the normal things happen. Those who have power abuse it and use it for their benefit. Citizens already lost trust to government and military and they don't see this case will end clear as it is difficult to catch the top. This is just something similar to the two cases I am following in my country, although not related to gambling but it's still related to the arm force here, they participate in scamming a foreigner a very huge amount that the man wanted to use for his business investment in our country but was deceived by the police and they took the money from him. If the police that is meant to protect the people, would get involved in such act, then you can imagine other ugly things they have done  and were not caught. When I see news like this I no longer get surprised because there will always be offenders in this world whether we like it or not. Regular citizens get punished for online gambling if they are caught  yet somehow we will see an operation like this being run inside a military facility. There has been no official announcement regarding the investigation results, but indeed the highest-ranking military commander has given an opinion in public. They are still waiting for the investigation results as well. In several video clips I saw in his statement, it was in a TNI (Indonesian National Armed Forces) retirement residences complex, and there are a few who are still active. The raid was also carried out by residents of the TNI official residences complex. In that statement, it was rented, and it is not yet known for certain whether the owner knew or not. 

This certainly violates the law in the country because the country indeed prohibits gambling. But from many cases that have occurred, more and more gambling management businesses are being found in the country. It reminds me several cases which has been seen here in Venezuela, the military here in Venezuela is so corrupt, that is would be common to see military barracks being used to mine Bitcoin and other alternative currencies with stolen mining machines.
