My honest answer is no. I would not have invested in BTC if I were not getting anything in return. Everyone invests in Bitcoin for gains, and a very small number of users would use BTC for technological purposes. Most of us chose to become miners, investors, and traders because of the money and its economic benefits.
It helps us fight financial problems like inflation, and it protects our purchasing power from it too.
So, if BTC becomes as stable as the dollar, I might even sell it and hold gold.
Totally agree with you, it’s the ability to give value to people's money that make them choose Bitcoin so if wasn't a good store of value, people would've gone for other options, maybe invest in stocks like SPCX or other options, gold isn’t a bad idea too but we're grateful that Bitcoin isn’t like that and has the potential to progress better in future. Honestly i might be forced to do same too, if it stops serving the purpose i choose it for then switching to another good option is the best thing to do. People move towards those things from which they will benefit or benefit. If in the future something better than Bitcoin is created or becomes a better investment than Bitcoin and if the future of that object or coin is better than Bitcoin then everyone will move towards that. But at the moment it does not seem that it is possible to create something better than Bitcoin or that something better than Bitcoin can be created. Bitcoin has become a much better asset than gold and silver. In the future we can expect much better results from Bitcoin than gold. Because everyone now wants financial freedom and wants security. Bitcoin is the best for this financial freedom and security

personally, i wouldn't invest in btc either if its price just stayed flat.

I agree with all of you, and everyone is here for profit, but there is a difference between this and other investment opportunities that could take over, as many came after gold when gold flatlined, but it does not mean they left gold. And I also did not say I would leave it completely, but partly I have to because I want volatility in the asset or demand that can make a profit, and there is loss too, of course. But if Bitcoin flatlined like gold, many of us would still buy it and would not sell because it can still move up and down. I might hold some in it too, but if Bitcoin were to flatline like gold, then which investment would we choose in that phase? Haha, that's a different question. Of course, I would put more into gold and less into BTC because gold has a stronger base than BTC in that phase, hypothetically speaking.

Will you still be holding BTC if the price is fixed like a Stablecoin? Will you buy more to keep for the next generation if price neither increases or decrease, be honest, let me hear your thoughts.
Bitcoin's true value lies in its restricted supply and the fact that it's price isn't fixed.... That all goes away if the price is fixed. Besides, Bitcoin would not stand a chance against other top stablecoins like USDT or USDC which are already fulfilling the role of fixed value digital assets. That said, I'm pretty sure nobody would be willing to Hold Bitcoin if it has a fixed price.

Bitcoin is the best for this financial freedom and security If someone says that a better investment vehicle than Bitcoin will come to us, it may be less likely in the current context. It took Bitcoin about 15 years to become a store of value and it is still holding its value and is gradually gaining the trust of investors. All the ingredients for financial independence are inherent in this asset. If you simply analyze why people are leaning towards holding Bitcoin, even though assets like gold or real estate are fairly stable, you will see that price volatility is one reason and institutional acceptance is another. Bitcoin is also popular for easy investment. Banks advertise to protect your funds, but in reality you cannot enjoy financial freedom by keeping money in the bank because it is in the hands of a third party and you are not free to withdraw money independently.

Not sure if I will be so interested, Isn't it clear why institutions, governments, and every investor are investing in Bitcoin? It is because of the profits after a whole period of investment. Generating profits has always been the motivation for many adopters. If Bitcoin had a stable value, there would be no benefit in holding for the long term, investors are here because of profits, that's the main reason. I agree with you. Because if bitcoin becomes like any other currency it will lose people's acceptance. And bitcoin price volatility creates an opportunity for people to make profit. After a long time the fixed supply of bitcoin and the increase in people acceptance will increase the price of bitcoin. And this works against the inflation of conventional fiat currency. And people psychologically consider getting rewards in the future to be a very big issue. Because of this they are so interested in bitcoin. Now if the price of bitcoin becomes fixed like a stablecoin then people's motivation will be lost. The number of investors or traders will also decrease. Then there will be no difference between stablecoin, fiat currency and bitcoin. But realistically, I don't think bitcoin's price will ever stabilize. Because bitcoin has been running for so long depending on fixed rules. Since there is no change in the rules, the price volatility of bitcoin that was there from the beginning will still remain.

I would hold Bitcoin to the grave for my family, yes. Fortunately there is not much chance Bitcoin becomes like a stablecoin any time soon though. The fixed supply of 21M makes it very different to stablecoins which can be created at will. Bitcoin is still affected by supply constraint when we have a block reward halving. Bitcoin will continue to be volatile for the foreseeable future. I never even considered that this could be a possibility. It has a fixed supply, and people use this decentralized asset as a store of value, holding onto it and selling or buying when the time comes. That's why I never thought its price would remain stable. Sure, there will be periods when the price stays within a certain range, but it will definitely never be fixed at that price.

Yeah, obviously Bitcoin will never be stable like a stablecoin, they're different animals in both purpose and mechanism. As long as BTC runs on buying demand and market sentiment, volatility is gonna be pretty hard to avoid. That said, it's all hypothetical. If BTC really did go stable, do you think we and plenty of other folks would still keep holding it? Personally , I don't buy that, cause the potential upside is still one of the main reasons we put money into Bitcoin.

Personally , I don't buy that, cause the potential upside is still one of the main reasons we put money into Bitcoin. There is no reason to think that people will lose interest in holding Bitcoin as soon as its volatility decreases. Many people buy Bitcoin just in the hope of a price increase but for long term investors its importance is not limited to the potential for price increase. Features such as limited supply decentralization and personal control over one's own assets are also among the reasons for holding Bitcoin. However it is also true that if the price of Bitcoin fluctuates very little for a long time and there is no possibility of significant price increase in the future then many of those who invest primarily in the hope of large returns will lose interest. But not everyone buys Bitcoin for the same reason. Some want quick profits while others want to build wealth over the long term. For me the real question is not whether Bitcoin will be stable or not but how much people's belief in its long-term value and utility will persist. Because holding Bitcoin just in the hope of a price increase can change the decision as the market situation changes. Potential profit is important in long term investments but it should not be the only basis.

If Bitcoin is stable, then it is not far from what is called a stablecoin, although the blockchain technology is indeed different. I think it would be very boring to see BTC at a stable price. Next, many users might move to blockchains with instability. If you hold Bitcoin but its value will remain constant, then that is not a guarantee of storing value against inflation. Because its value never changes while other needs increase, it will fail to store value. But if the value always rises, then it aligns with being a store of value. IMO
If Bitcoin is going to be fixed priced for me, it's going to be useless, meaning more than boring, because most of the community members surely will avoid this and never check back again because its beauty is volatility and price movement, which helps people stay in touch and have use of this for their future and also for fighting against inflation. Its potential and possible value are not predictable, and people are still feeling confident because they are well aware of how things are going to be in the long run. Currently, the use of stablecoins is just for having a change of fiat, otherwise I am not sure anyone is going to touch them because now technology is bringing good flexibility, which is having good use of them.

Is anyone anywhere buying and holding an asset which there is no sign of an increase in future? To hold for the long-term, that will be me taking the same type of risk by leaving my money in my local bank account and allowing inflation to make the best of it. The only reason I will be transacting with bitcoin and not to hold for long will be as a result of it not having limitation on how and when to spend it. These is just a statement based on the op assumption which I know is not going to be possible.
