Nice numbers. 900k casinos blocked. Wow, sounds like they deserve a prize for that.
C'mon, one casino I played at was pumping out at least 3–5 new mirrors a week. And that's just the links they sent me on Telegram. From that one casino alone, they can get a thousand links a year.
I figure there are only a few thousand online casinos, tops. And that's counting the tiny ones.

That's a lot. But I have a theory that those are not necessarily casino's. What if some are scammers pretending to be actual casino's? That's worth asking. What if it's just like three casinos with subdomains trying to flood the country? I have thoeries because I think there can't be 900k + casino's now. That's a very huge number.

But the government must be applauded though for blocking that much. Trying to keep it's citizens safe from any online hazel. Good

As for the reported 900,000+ casino links, i assume that number includes mirror domains and alternative/mirror urls belonging to the same casinos, rather than 900,000 individual operators. But who knows? I could not find any figures on the actual number of online casinos operating worldwide.
Mostly, mirror links will be included because that number is too high for one jurisdiction. But who knows? Nothing is impossible when it comes to gambling. I'm very sure that some sites will continue to operate even after the government claims to have blocked all of them. To me, this ongoing fight against casinos is not going to put an end to online gambling. People will still find ways to access these casinos and bypass the restrictions, although there may be consequences if they get caught. However, this will not stop addicted gamblers from looking for alternatives to continue gambling.

Well, I'm not really surprised by the number at all. It has become a common thing for new online casinos to be popping up every single day, even here on the forum new casino keeps launching daily.  And some of these casino's may even have several mirror sites, which can easily be confused as the number of casinos.

I believe part of the reason why this industry continues to grow is that a lot of people are always searching for ways to make fast money and gambling can seem to be a fast way.  Once there's money to be made from it, more businesses will keep coming into the market to get their own share.

I know the gambling industry is multi-billion-dollar and one of the top online industries, but do you think it's possible we have over 900k online casinos that include a mirror link?

The Thai government claimed
Quote
Thailand blocked access to 945,075 web addresses associated with online gambling during the 2026 fiscal year, which ran from October 2025 to September 2026.
The majority of the blocks, over 835,000, were enforced through court orders, with an additional 109,868 URLs blocked in cooperation with digital platforms.

And is Thailand the only country that can trace and block over 900k links of online casinos?

You might be misinterpreting what was actually posted - it doesn't mention almost a million separate sites but can easily be including all sub-pages to come to that figure too. If you imagine most casino sites have at least a couple thousand game pages, it brings down the overall number of gambling sites involved. Throw in all the various affiliate programs, lotteries, raffles, sports betting, poker and other types of gambling it seems easy to reach this number. There are a lot of casino fronts that are fed off a single backend but new "brands" try to capture visitors again. Considering there are probably hundreds of millions, if not billions of sites out there it doesn't seem infeasible for either option to be true. It's a very lucrative sector and people will come up with all sorts of devious methods to capture a slice of that pie.

Yeah, any single casino site might have numerous distinct mirror link that change daily or monthly! And I can see that incident involving blocking of 945075 links in Thailand is absolutely real. They took these down during fiscal year using Ministry of Digital Economy and Society alongside AI tool.

By the way, Thailand isn't the only one doing this! UK Gambling Commission, Australia's ACMA and various European governing body such as Sweden's Spelinspektionen or France's ANJ regularly block million of domain and mirror site in same way.

That number is actually not comparable to what my country's government has done. According to a report from Kominfo (this is the ministry that handles digital platforms, etc., in my country), they have blocked over 3 million online gambling sites.
But I don't believe that they really blocked 3 million online casinos, that number is probably just exaggerated. It might include subdomains and affiliate links, so it seems like a huge number even though the actual number of casinos might not be that high.
So, perhaps the report from the Thai government is the same, the number of sites they've blocked may seem high, but they aren't casinos, just subdomains and affiliate links that they deliberately report as having blocked, even though the number of casinos is small.

It did say "associated with online gambling", so anything that is linked to gambling, which could be videos, posts, articles, blogs, etc.

I posted a similar thing several months ago about Indonesia blocking 3.7M "gambling sites" since 2024, pretty sure they did the same thing as Thailand, they blocked anything that is linked to online gambling.

Here's the link to the thread I created if you are interested [NEWS]Indonesia Blocked 3.7M Gambling Websites Since 2024, Also, I guess this answers your question about Thailand being the only country being able to trace and block links connected to online casinos.

Thailand blocks 945,075 online gambling links in fiscal 2026

And is Thailand the only country that can trace and block over 900k links of online casinos?
If this stats is accurate,  then the claims can be possible actually. It's very possible that from country to country, if the statistics are accurately collated we could get more or even less numbers of online casinos in total. But this resport did said web address associated with online casinos nad not the actual casino online platforms, so i don't think it was implying the total number of casinos,  because there could be several web addresses associated to a particular casino online and all of that i belive may have been included in this statistics. In some countries alone,  we have several casinos in their numbers,  even here on the forum we have seen several casinos come here for promotion of which i belive we may have lost count if you want to count them. I know there are quite a number of online casinos but if there are over 900k is what i can't tell for sure,  but definitely associated Web addresses should exceed even 1m.

Good work by the Thai government. However, this is only scratching the surface, as people will always find ways to bypass restrictions and hide their identities to access blocked online casinos. If the authorities also pursue and enforce the law to set a clear example, that's great then.

As for the reported 900,000+ casino links, i assume that number includes mirror domains and alternative/mirror urls belonging to the same casinos, rather than 900,000 individual operators. But who knows? I could not find any figures on the actual number of online casinos operating worldwide.
People will definitely try to access gambling. What the government should have done is address illegal gambling sites, which I believe will have a significant effect on gamblers. As for banning casinos from operating, it just seems the government is not doing anything, as gamblers will still look for a way to gamble.

I don't know if this 900k gambling sites includes both legal and illegal sites. If it is one illegal gambling site, then I commend the government because they are doing what is necessary.

Holy shit, is it for real ? Isn't 900k too many ? Besides that, Thai government being able to identify and classify so many URLs and then blocking it is itself a tedious job.
Assuming many of those will be mirror links, even if a site has approximately 9 mirror links, it's still 100k sites that the government has blocked.
But the thing is, will the people stop gambling after this ? I guess no. They will probably use VPNs to access those sites.
As mentioned, the job is actually not done by human operators, but AI tools and we know that automating things doesn't take that much effort, especially if it's just about confirming whether a web address is related to gambling or not because an AI tool can easily visit the link and find whether it's related to gambling or not. Also, I agree with those saying that the number could also include affiliate links, maybe even casino review platforms because the AI tools they are using must be confirming if the addresses are related to gambling using some keywords, possibly, so it doesn't necessarily mean that all the sites are gambling platforms.

And I think there purpose is not to stop gambling in the region, but their purpose is to stop unregulated platforms and outsiders to operate within the country, because they don't get any benefits for that, and governments wouldn't like it if platforms, especially if they are related to gambling, operate within their countries without paying them any taxes, which is probably the reason for the crackdown so that websites and platforms that are unregulated and are being operated with foreign licenses and aren't paying them any taxes don't get to make any money from their country, and it's a good step.

I didn't know this, so do they create sister sites to bypass the jurisdiction or just for too many people?
Fighting against the casino is only the states, i just want to share the profits with them and that's it.
They don't want to protect people, they don't want to help them, they just want to share the profits.

I'm impressed with what the Thai government has done. That is a lot of links they blocked.

I know the gambling industry is multi-billion-dollar and one of the top online industries, but do you think it's possible we have over 900k online casinos that include a mirror link?
Yes, I think it is possible. The links will include both licensed casinos, home based sportsbooks, unlicensed casinos, and many other unauthorized sites for gambling in the country.

And is Thailand the only country that can trace and block over 900k links of online casinos?
The Thai government has taken a step that other governments will acknowledge and would want join soon.

900k links ≠ 900k online casinos. There is a possibility of it being mirror domains, subdomains and the like. Taking those in bitcointalk into consideration alone, you would see different links from just a single casino, some are used for tracking the traffic from this forum, while a different domain can be dedicated to a different platform. So that's why there are so many domains.

If they keep searching, they'll find more links, but this whole blockage won't end gambling in the country; people will look for ways to bypass it. I remember when X was banned in my country, a lot of people were still active and that is what is going to happen with these gambling platforms.

Well countries apart from Thailand also do it too, like Italy, Spain, and some countries in Asia .still I believe that 945,075 was just the number of websites, links, and addresses it certainly doesn't mean that there are that many online casinos out there. You can check out this link though: https://agbrief.com/news/thailand/07/10/2026/thailand-reports-945075-gambling-related-url-blocks-in-fiscal-2026/
That said it's certainly not based on who can block those websites, but actually based on how they do it because different countries probably have different methods. So to me it would be a no. That's all.......

The legitimate number of online casinos is not that large, 900k is a significant figure that the government blocks. It may be that these are mirror links created by casinos to bypass government filters, and if one link can be blocked, then another will work. In this case, the government blocks those URLs created by casinos. Behind those 900k sites, there may be some smaller numbers of casinos that are functioning. If they are operating illegally, then the Thailand government has done a great job with no compromise on the security of its citizens.

Bro 945075 is a huge number but if we combine the domains and the urls and mirror links then it is possible but it is not a proper way of stopping the operations of a casino in the country because it is possible that when someone or any government official block the url then the operators launch another new mirror link so what i believe is blocking url doesnot mean they banned the casino also thailand is not just a one country that taking that type of actions Uk is also doing it they remove the urls and domains as well.

Wow if there are really 900k casinos online that is pretty impressive i would also argue to say there are even more as there are other forms of gambling and other things can be considered similar and also gsmbling sites or casinos. If Thailand can ban all those that is also a hige workload and impressive

I agree with you on that, it's tedious and complex for the Thailand government to block such large numbers of casino and just as you asked, even with the attempts to block all these sites it doesn't stop people from gambling. What would make this frustrating for the Thailand government is the fact that the casinos can easily use a new domain and they can keep up with blocking them consistently.

Hmm, number is indeed large. but blocking of 900k link does not mean that many separate casino business have shut down! It’s lot like inflating figure by adding Telegram mirror link and referral redirect. Even if any domain is blocked using filter same platform keep appearing with new domain every month. Thailand's AI and court system are failing to reach root of spam problem. they are only catching individual at upper level.

There are only few thousand unique online casino worldwide. And that include real & legitimate ones. rest are just rubbish, nothing but redirect and promotional gimmick. Shutting down any link is matter of moment. Real culprits are living comfortably offshore. Meddling with that is beyond government's capacity!
