I have a motor bike that costs approximately 30-50 dollars a month depends on the destination. While a friend of mine has a chargeable bike since 6 years and he has covered more than 100 thousand kilometers till now and has saved about 2500 dollars, that is actually too much for a middle class person. He just changes battery after a year or two and the rest is saved. I am just thinking of replacing my bike to electric as well.
Also you will even change the battery of your bike also. Or are fuel bikes not using batteries? I have more experience with cars, I change the fuel car battery in almost 3 to 4 years. Do you think electricity can replace oil in the next 3-4 years or a decade?
No, electricity can not replace fuel but it also already an alternative. I do not know the reason people like fuel cars.

That was not what he said of the bike. Except it's a nuclear energy I'm not sure there is any battery that will spend a while year before you are going to charge it. With most technology moving from oil to petrol, there are lots of economic and environment benefits aside frim the fact that it saves cost for us. There are just so many more we can do with these electrical innovations. Right where I live, most of the tricycles are powered by the sun, solar technology is actually growing faster than we thought it would. And this is a good thing because many people will not have to worry about price of oil.

Electric bikes are way more preferable to manual bike, in terms of commuting, less physical effort and room for more savings on petrol. The only problem with the electric bike is the maintenance cost and the high purchase cost, aside that it is better than the manual bike.
Electricity is one of the best innovations that humans encountered, it makes work more easier and efficient.

Each new day I see more and more electric cars on the streets, mainly the ones who are destined to be used by Uber drivers. The change is real and noticiable in daily life. The tendency is that it continues like this along the next 3 or 4 years, unless batteries get too expensive or don't last long enough as expected. He just changes battery after a year or two and the rest is saved.
That is what I'm afraid about... A battery lasting one or two years is too low. Regards electric cars it should last for ten to twenty years at least (1500 to 3000 recharge cycles). Transportation business is now more profitable than they used to thanks to this electric vehicles, I know two men who are making good amount of money using electric vehicles as at right now for transportation. As per battery issue I think it doesn't applied to all available electric vehicles, because there are different brands of these vehicles and their parts can't be the same. Also we are advancing in technology, new ones will be made and they will be better than what we have right now, it's always a matter of time, just like the smartphones we have right now compared to the symbian phones of the old times.

Of course an e-bike takes less physical effort than a regular bicycle. It has a motor! And comparing e-bike battery power to petrol savings on a manual bike makes zero sense because standard bicycles don't burn gasoline in the first place. Do you run on petrol? That would be the only way to explain it.

Oil prices are going up earlier and currently as well. People usually prefer chargeable vehicles now a days and many have it now , the environment and the trends are changing. And as a whole it seems that electric vehicles has an advantage, because a middle man can afford to have solar panels and later on the electricity for a day at least. Charging it for an hour or two could provide quite enough of ride. The price of oil will increase with time because inflation is taking cover of the world day after day and month after month and this year was too much.

Do you know how much an electric vehicle cost,Why do you think a lot people can't afford to buy an electric vehicle or a bike? You're talking as if to owned an electric vehicle is cheap, The least price you can get an electric vehicle might cost you no less than a $100,000, how many average men would like to go for a vehicle at that price? when they could get themselves a simple car and use the rest of money to invest in their businesses. The truth is, many average men would rather buy a simple car that use petrol than an electric car because of the costs, besides we don't have lots of mechanics who can fixed electric cars when it break down. You might have them in your country but I don't think we have many of them in my country.

Do you think electricity can replace oil in the next 3-4 years or a decade?
In the current crisis situation of the world, electricity can be used as an alternative in some cases. For example: electric bikes, but this will not be usable in all states. Even this idea is not realistic. For instance: there is no such situation in my state, it is only usable in Auto rickshaw(Easy Bike) and no other vehicles. Oil is a stored asset like gold, which can disrupt its alternative economic balance. However, increasing the use of electricity will not be able to prevent inflation. If you live in a developing state, you may enjoy some benefits. We know that, electricity production is most commonly used, uranium and coal. Therefore, many states do not have enough of these (due to various sanctions) and have to import after a few years. According to the current context, the price of everything has increased. Hence, as a result, the price of electricity is rising. My state's situation is similar. And I never believe that, even within a decade, electricity will be able to achieve parity with oil.

The recent development of the electric bikes and cars is encouraging but then I don't think that electricity will replace oil completely because most of those bikes will still be charged with light and then we still need gas in our homes to cook, fuel generators and do other things at home.
I believe that oil price will reduce and that reduction will also include in movement as the electric bikes and cars are already taking over considering how solar panels are expensive and some of these batteries will require up to 7-8 panels to be able to charge the battery that's why most of them still needs electric to charge it.

The whole situation will be more better having both, I do think electric motors are still in their early stages and they need more of oil and gas motors to support but the expensive nature of the oil produced motors can be curtailed by the growing number of this electric motors. For solar panels which is huge support or secondary source of power in my place it has reduce everything to dependence on even traditional electric power generation like hydro power, so now imagine in future when households can get power from both sources one can easily say that it will be really easy to use electric motors without worry. But for now it’s still an alternative means and not the main option if you ask me

Even ten years from now, there will be more oil-powered vehicles than electric vehicles. Those who can afford to buy one will definitely get one for themselves, but someone who can afford to get an electric vehicle will also have another vehicle that runs on fuel. I also want to ask whether you pay for electricity and whether electricity is cheap in your country. If not for the bad economy in my country, fuel would be cheap, allowing every device to be easily powered by it.

In terms of car usage, electricity will not replace petrol car because already electric cars are not common and there are places you cannot see it even in my country except the capacity city otherwise you would hardly see it outside, so at least it should have been very common before people would actually know the potential, meanwhile from the way I usually see the electric cars or electric bikes is something that's best to use only privately because it has low capacity compares to an ordinary commercial petrol cars or private cars because electric cars will definitely be limited from some certain distances, so actually even if oil prices is very high now but when all this countries ends there war the price will actually drop.

If this is easy, it would have achieved, but because it is more complex than seems, personally I do not see electricity replacing oil, competely, do you think that the companies that are producing electric cars are not trying to advance, they have, but there are limitations to what they can do, so car that use petrol will remain, the production of those car can not stop, electric cars are good innovations, which I think will remain in existence with the petrol cars, so we shouldn't be expecting any replacements even in the next 20years, as long as oil is still very important in the international market unless something different happens along the line.

First, I like you to add "cheap" in from of that electricity, because it's not all electricity sources are encouraging. Specifically, those solar and renewable energy sources, for your question: Yes, I think so, and not that alone, it will surely happen. But the issue is that it might take generations for it to be so effective, and we might not witness it much. As we speak, it has begun, but the pace is very low. The fact that the initial cost of acquiring those cars, bikes, etc that use electricity is high is a factor, and it's sickening. I guess that's still due to low completions, but that will sort itself over time.

It's not as easy as it seems to replace something as crucial as crude oil, at this point its a no brainer that electric vehicles are better in every aspect from money conservation to protection of the environment but it will take a whole bunch of time for it to dominate the global market because the huge players in oil and gas will not allow them to surface as it will mean them cutting down there source of income.

That's also my plan, to save in the hybrid setup in my house and that's due to the possible rotational brown out that might happen in us, the cost of electricity is also surging here so we have no choice. So investing in solar panels and high capacity battery might be a good idea, it will also serve as good back up. I've read a lot of my countrymen who's got this setup and they're all satisfied of how much they save. But usually, ROI for investing in a solar setup is around 5 years. I have a motor bike that costs approximately 30-50 dollars a month depends on the destination.
What motorbike is this? How long are your travels, how many kilometers do you usually do? Because with my newly purchased motorbike, despite the gasoline price having increased, I've used it for 2 months and only filled it up twice. Each fill-up only costs around $5 so, it has only cost me $10. And this is with the expensive gasoline we have because before the war happened, the cost of 1 liter per gasoline only less than a dollar. Now the cost has jumped more than 60%. Before buying it, I was considering a honda electric bike but it's out of my budget and that's why I still chose the gasoline one and it didn't disappoint me so far for now. 10 dollars for two months unbelievable.. how could someone travel for two months with gasoline of 10 dollars. May be you travel 4-5 kilometers per day and that is why your fuel expenses are that much less. I have a Honda bike since I came to know how to operate it. Recently I bought a new one that give mileage of about 75 kilometers per litre but the place where I work is about 25 kilometers from my place of residence. Multiply it by two is equal to 50 km.. And I don't drive it just to my work place but for buying groceries and other basic needs. Sometimes roaming with my friends. Sometimes it costs 3-4 dollars a day and sometime a few cents , depends.

Yes, therefore this game must have an end where oil will definitely run out in the dredge and the lack of supply will be more expensive, this is where renewable energy begins to grow and also energy that can be used for the needs of human activities when oil starts to be expensive, with the continued global political tensions that hinder the distribution of oil, although this is not easy to do and should gradually at least the direction of this industry began to demand, dependence on oil is a folly if there are other alternatives to lower costs, just as good as any new technology there must be side effects or risks that must be mitigated.

No, electricity can not replace fuel but it also already an alternative. I do not know the reason people like fuel cars. I would have thought that also, obviously shipping, long haul trains, trucks and excavators need oil in some form or another. I would imagine that if it means 'covering the land' in solar panels and wind turbines the goal is to be fully dependent on electricity. And this is what big business wants, its a new form of revenue. No need for the consumer to be concerned about the extraction consequences of the Lithium for the batteries, or the huge transportation costs to get those resources into your driveway (using oil) or the fact that coal (the most harmful fossil fuel) has to be used to make solar panels, or that solar panels and wind turbines cannot be recycled. Electric bikes are way more preferable to manual bike, in terms of commuting, less physical effort and room for more savings on petrol. Travels significantly slower and weighs a fraction of a motorbike!

For me, I don’t think electricity can fully replace oil in the next 3-4 years. Why I said so, it’s because oil will be around because light is not stable, and many people cannot afford to buy electric bike at once and we don’t have enough mechanics for electric. Big trucks, lorries and long distance buses will still use diesel. But in a decade like 10 years time yes, for vehicles like bikes, keke, and small cars inside town, electricity will replace oil. Because solar is getting cheaper, battery is getting cheaper and fuel is getting costly every month. This year alone inflation has dealt with everybody. Fuel that was manageable before is now a big burden. Electric vehicles will be a big advantage for a middle class people, at least middle class man can afford solar panel and then get electricity for a day at least. You charge it for an hour or two, you can get enough ride for your daily movement and save enough.

Even if you are not using it, you cannot charge it once because it's a battery and will discharge current in 3-6 months timeline. I don't think that electricity will replace petrol in the long run because they have their own unique advantages over the other. Solar is expensive and an average income earner might not be able fund the set up of solar energy in his apartment.
He never mentioned charging the battery just once a year and continue using it for the rest of the year, of course that is impossible no matter how strong the battery is but instead he said charging for an one or two can serve someone some number of rides. Nevertheless, I believe in the next 3-4 years electric can be of more use than petrol but not totally replacing it. The price of petrol keeps increasing daily and as time goes on the increase will still continue, which is making it hard and lot of cost to so many people but with electric cars or bike, it is with lesser cost to move around because what is required is just to charge and use. Electric bikes/cars might be more expensive but most persons don’t mind saving up to be able to get it, most especially for persons who use it as a means of business because they know it will be of more advantage than petrol vehicles, so i am very much convinced electric cars/bike will be of higher usage than petrol in the future.

I doubt so but to even protect our planet from all this greenhouse gases that are polluting the air, switching to a less polluting alternative should be encouraged. Burning of fossil fuels can affect our planet which results into environmental impact that also affects our plants, animals and livelihoods. I really like the alternative vehicle that uses electricity to power or the solar energy power which is less emitting of heat that will affect the environment. The problem of it now is the cost of affording one, they’re very expensive and not everyone can afford it. If the prices of this electricity power vehicles can be reduced, it will really help for more people to get to afford it and switch to them easily.
