At least he still has his sense of humor and proper reality checks that say, "Fuck this country." It's sad to hear about his losses, though. No matter what, life is more precious, but when you are left in a situation where you can't survive, you might hope to be left dead. I just hope and pray for the best for this pal.

He deserves our support if we can help or if he wants it. Although maybe my few cents won't be enough compared to the big portfolio he just lost, perhaps the community can still do something!

Anyway, he really broke the silence in me when he said, "Just when you think you are safe, it can happen to you as well." No doubt, we have to face things like this that we have never thought of or considered how we could tackle them. We can only hope for the best, but how did his portfolio information get leaked?

People get attacked not because of the poor security of the country but because the people themselves are the ones giving hints to the bad guys around. Don't blame the government or the country itself, the biggest responsibility if we want to stay secured and protected should start from us, not from the authorities or the leaders sitting in the government.

And we all know this is going to happen for any reckless trader or investor. Protect your own keys, as much as protect your own safety and security.

You can never say for sure that, the general public is not harassed or financially harmed by the country weak security. If you are a influencer, then the people around you are aware of your position. So it is never possible to hide yourself. If a criminal attacks, what kind of measures should be taken? If the government ensures excessive security, then when will this incident not be reflected?

I think, it would not be fair to blame a influencer trader in this case. Rather, investors may have misconceptions because they may want to remain hidden for their own safety.

Incidents like this are mostly the reason we are advised to live a low-key and private life off and on the Internet, no matter who you are because you don't know who has good intentions not bad intentions towards you.

The crypto trader will live with this memory of his crypto loss for long. I wish he could be able to let go of the saddening experience someday and look forward to better days in years to come

This is a reminder of the Wrench attack issue in the past to all users influencers or not to keep a lowkey status about your crypto assets

We as humans are a threat to our own existence. People get robbed whether they trade crypto or not, if he was robbed of that amount, that is part of a societal problem that needs to be fixed. If he had leaked information about his holdings, that already maps him out as a target, sometimes they do it unintentionally, to people they think they can trust without realizing.

Another story for everyone to learn from, it is very important not to disclose our holdings by maintaining absolute privacy, both online and offline.

This problem, or what is called a key attack, has become a frightening phenomenon not only in England or France, but in a number of other countries these brutal attacks have been repeated. Everyone must be extremely careful.

This incident and others like it demonstrate the importance of privacy. Privacy does not only mean hiding information about your assets and sensitive data from the government, but also from your closest people and social media sites.

That's still polite to say when he almost lost his life and lost all of his life savings. I would say that he's still a decent guy after all.

Because if it happened to other people, we might read worst cursing words and then don't know what to do and lost their sanity.

I'm glad that he's safe and he appreciates that but it's a lot of money, that can be a generational wealth. This should call for the accountability of revolut.

These platforms when their data have been leaked, they need to be responsible and pay damages for their users because of their negligence and weakness in security.

In this situation, who is to blame? The country obviously can't be blamed, even if the country is fucked up. He is to be blamed.

Having trust the people around him to tell them how much he holds in crypto. The robbers are people he frequent chat with, drinks beer with that stole from him. It can't be a total stranger.

Not in the class of those that will jump into conclusions on this incident, this can happen to anyone, because rubbers this day's are very educated and up to date with trending things so if they see cryptocurrency wallet on your devices, or exchange apps they may ask the victim to open them and once they see balance in there they got a bounty, $800k worth crypto assets is huge amount.

Privacy could be 100% and this kind of thing still happening, but your advice of low key profile is very welcome most especially if you have a large portfolio, better to get a private security for such amount of assets instead risking it on privacy and thinking no one will know about your crypto assets.

It's sad that these crypto influencers have publicly displayed their lives and does it for a living. If someone is in that situation right now, think of it if it's worth it.

You get to be famous and earn a lot from contents but, at what expense? we hate these criminals who are speculating everyone who's not low profile.

They can attack anybody but if they have no idea what people does inside their house and what wealth they have, they'll skip those who remains low key.
Ive known a lot of crypto influencers who keeps their identity intact and secretive. Theres no point to link your personal identity and your crypto life. This guy must be like of someone who are boastful to flex his personal gains on web3.
But if they have already exposed themselves publicly, they're now a public figure and their lives are now an open book.

And if they're into crypto, how they can keep their identities hidden still? or they just create typical information contents without having to reveal their personal lives.

I am sorry for this influencer for what happened to him but he doesn’t look like one that will stop this even after the wrench attack on him. That’s where he earns a living from and from his page, he’s really having lots of followers that are following him and making some bucks from there.

Wrench attack will always be on the increase as far as people want to be showing off their flamboyant lifestyle, and this is also the very means that they can keep up with having that much followers, there only means of persuading them that they’re doing well and these followers can follow in their footsteps to make money too.
He has to change some of his routines.

If he's the kind of creator that keeps on flaunting his crypto assets and even the other investments he's got, he needs to stop doing that for this very important reason.

The crypto trader must have learned the hard way. But he's still lucky that he's alive as some crypto traders have been attacked and steal their coins, and they get eventually killed by those criminals. Maybe that's how unfortunate their fate is, or they could have avoided it if they also take precautionary measures and value their privacy more over flexing online their current achievements. Living low-key isn't that hard, but I guess some people do not really see it as something crucial for them, until something bad happened to them.

Forgetting such things is easier said than done, because we should ask ourselves, how would we feel if we had $800k an hour ago and now have nothing at all? It feels terrible, obviously, everything that you have saved or earned in your whole life is all gone in a few minutes. Such incidents also teach us a lesson about how we should never keep all our eggs in one basket, because if he had half or more of his funds saved somewhere else, somewhere which wouldn't be easily accesssible by anyone even if they kidnap you or break into your house. Thieves and robbers won't suspect that you are hiding most of your funds if they already got some, unless they already have information about everything.

Anyway, it is definitely important for people to take their privacy seriously. Stop posting anything on social media about your financial status or your trades and investments because people can spy on you through all that. With how AI technology is advancing, it is becoming easier for evil people to get information about things they find, you add a photo and ask AI about the address and it might find it for you quickly through whatever is visible in the picture or in the background.

I feel so bad reading this experience indeed, it could be a horrible experience for anyone. One has to be very careful at Al time the way he interact with anyone especially when it comes to letting them know your crypto worth. Sometimes privacy saves us from several shits that could have wrecked us.

Away from that, this also bothers on security of the people, the government should do better to secure the life and properties of the citizens at all time by improving the security architecture of every city.

Criminals getting tech savvy is a very disturbing trend because it keeps everyone worried at the risk of such attacks at all time. I would suggest that everyone should be very proactive and delete transactions from emails and also uninstall apps swiftly when he senses danger or attack.

I also agree that the country can't be blamed, but since this violent wrench attacks have been rising across UK, then authorities should deal on this seriously to minimize such cases.

However, crypto traders should also do their part to avoid such instances. The attackers obviously have personal knowledge about the trader, that's why it's easy for them to make force transfer of cryptos. Hence, absolute privacy should be the topmost priority, especially if you are holding valuable amount of crypto. If not for your coins, at least for your life's safety.

This guy, @realist, claims that he never posted photos of himself on social media, yet he was robbed at home of $800,000 in cryptocurrency. In most cases like this, the perpetrators are people very close to the victim such as friends, neighbors, or coworkers who are well-acquainted with the victim’s home and personal life. Often, the victim has shared details about their investments, the amount of money in their accounts, or the assets they keep at home.

A thief doesn’t choose a target at random; they need to be well informed about the victim, their daily schedule, and their residence. They also need to know the layout of security cameras in the area to avoid being caught. Therefore, it is possible that this individual was robbed by someone from his own circle—friends, colleagues, or neighbors.

Therefore, it is possible that this individual was robbed by someone from his own circle—friends, colleagues, or neighbors.
Or even indeed a stranger or a thief who really doesn't know him directly, but finds a trace that the victim has quite a lot of crypto assets and is the target of the Operation.
Because there are many ways that can be used to find out if someone owns a lot of crypto assets or not unconsciously even though they have never shared photos of themselves on social media.

Now the threat that can occur when someone knows about the crypto assets we have, because there are many ways to do it.
Hacking uses many methods, including social engineering methods or other things.

It is a warning to remain vigilant because anything can happen and of course those who have shared their portfolios with hundreds to millions of dollars, can be a threat anywhere, as happens to many Influencers.
They need a lot of followers by flexing their portfolios, but the risk is greater.

I hate robberies or such incidents, but sometimes we bring all the unnecessary attention to ourselves. You can't talk about being a crypto millionaire to the public and expect not to be a target of such incidents.

That is one area where some people are getting it wrong and making themselves targets. Some people don't take public discussions about what they own seriously, especially when it comes to owning crypto. In fact, even when someone expects you to have some level of trust in them, it is still wrong to tell them about the crypto you own.Sometimes, it is not that people deliberately make public announcements about what they own, but even someone close to us can make us a target.

I know a story about a person who went to the bank to withdraw money. He only informed two of his close friends about it, but later in the evening, they was attacked  in his own house. The most painful part of the case was that one of the friends he told had about it was the that sent robbers to attack them, and the three of them were living together because some reason at that period. It was only after the robbers were arrested that they confessed that one of his friends was the person who sent them.

Using curse words won't do any good. I was shocked to see how normal stealing is here. One of my friends recently got knocked down in Ireland haha. He was really upset about it, although they did not cause much harm. But for someone who lived at a place where such crime is so low, they can't tolerate punches in the face.

I have already lost my car to them, so I know how it is to be in such a situation, and that's so normal here.

Yep bro, if you get to live, that's still a big save because people lose their lives, and in the worst case, they lose the lives of their loved ones while they get to live and bear through it.

These platforms don't care, and they don't even take you seriously.

Quote
If you live in the uk and do crypto get the fuck out
Regardless of the country the person is, if he does not have privacy, the person can be invaded or attacked just to forcibly receive crypto from him.

People should not use privacy to play anymore. This kind of news are no more new at all and I think attackers attacking people to steal their crypto from them will become more common happening.
This guy keeps flexing, look at this tweet... I think this is already the target of the robbers and know his location.
[1] https://x.com/rrealist/status/2043438459625369765

The influencer may not cover her privacy, if so she will not be famous, will not get a lot of followers or admirers of her, this kind of thing has become a risk for them.

Privacy is, it does not display luxury or portfolio or trading activity, however like this it will continue to do its.
This is what most crypto guys and traders do on social media.  They don't know how to keep their private life away form the public. Love flexing everything they have ( their sport cars, Rolex etc) , the profit they made etc , and some of his followers could envy him alot. It's like a disease that most of them can't cure.  I see this robbery as more of an inside job, maybe his friends or relatives who he showed his wallet to or mistakenly saw his wallet balance. The greed of money could make those guys to hire robber, and they will also be providing them the guys location and activities. People are not trustworthy, so it's better to keep all your achievements to self not by shoving it to people who envies you. I pray the police force are able to track those criminals, I might go crazy if I am the one that losses that amount of money.

What matters to these platforms are their profits from their customers, but when it's with the trouble they're only going to give you the help that you have asked for.

Bro, I'm not sure if you're happy with that knocking down happened to your friend in Ireland. You've got that "haha".

Proceeding to these threats that everyone might face. We as individuals need to be careful at all times, don't be too vocal with what you have in crypto to anybody.

Only threating by a knife? No gun and how many are they?

I will personally fight back if the only weapon they have is knife, if they are more than 4, I may not fight, but if they are 2 and less, I'll stand on my ground and fight no matter what. I can't let $800k go for two thiefs and a knife. I won't allow that to happen.

These attackers might have taken time to withdraw the crypto at his front, because they'll need his password and or fingerprints authentication. It's sad to see your hard earned crypto going.
