I can't agree more, although we have to respect everyone because it's a personal decision. Many are good at short-term trading, while those who are not good at it are involved in long-term holding. I am not good at trading, so I invest for the long term. Someone can hold coins for even five years without conviction. Yes, I have held Bitcoin for at least two years, maybe without conviction, because many of us fear making a decision.
Many firms run short-term strategies, so we should not take them lightly. Many can become rich through short-term trading. They can even be smarter than long-term holders, and if you think you are smarter just because you are a long-term holder, you are making a mistake.

Bitcoin investment is just like that. It's not what you try your luck with as if you're gambling because it will make you buy out of FOMO, or buy with money that's made for your upkeep believing that you will be lucky to sell before the time you will use the money. Short term is for the smart ones but the fact is that how many of those smart traders are really smart enough to avoid losses. None of them which signifies that long term investors are the smartest.
Ask yourself why are you here in the crypto space, to look for short term profit (weak hands) which will end up putting you in losses in the long run or you are here to build a future for yourself through your long term bitcoin investment.
What are the challenges that will disrupt a new investor one from being a long term investor.
Let's discuss.
New crypto investors are often distracted by their greed, where they don’t usually focus solely on Bitcoin. And then they start looking to profit from other altcoins that they think can yield greater returns in a relatively short time. But they forget that investing in Bitcoin requires patience to generate long-term returns. So I personally think that investing in Bitcoin requires focus to resist the temptation of other options so you can grow your wealth without taking on excessive risk. And I’ve noticed that new investors are often easily tempted by news of massive altcoin price surges even though achieving such gains isn’t that easy given that the chances of actually making them are very slim. I think it’s better to focus solely on Bitcoin which is straightforward to invest in, where you just need to be patient until you see returns in the coming periods. And those returns have the potential to materialize due to Bitcoin’s halving mechanism or even its inherent scarcity.

I am completely alone in this, the things you have observed are true for traders. Those who are short-term investors give up their holdings at a small profit, but this is not at all appropriate. Since you have bought Bitcoin, you must hold it for the long term. The longer you hold it, the more profitable it will be, you see that the price of Bitcoin is increasing greatly in a cyclical manner. The high speed of the price of Bitcoin in the current position will definitely help you invest in Bitcoin more, so if you have bought Bitcoin, then you must hold it for the long term, your profit will definitely be higher and if it decreases.

Bitcoin investment isn't try your luck.
Regardless of how you might want to put it, we are all trying our luck in every investment, including Bitcoin investment. No matter how perfect or certain an investment looks, or how much you have sacrificed to understand it and get smart about it before investing, you are still trying your luck at the end of the day. no matter how much potential bitcoin has or how good our knowledge, plans, or strategies are, we still can't know what the future holds or guarantee anything. life's uncertain by nature, and investing is no exception. you can do everything by the book and still end up with a result that's nowhere near what you hoped for. yeah, you're right. at the end of the day , we're all taking our chances.

There is volatility in the price of Bitcoin but I do not agree with this that someone will invest here depending on luck. If a new investor starts investing in Bitcoin with a long term mindset, then there is enough logic behind it. With the fixed supply of Bitcoin and the example of past price increases as well as the way Bitcoin is increasing in the future, an investor can realistically think that person will be able to profit in the future. Now if someone trades in Bitcoin by making price predictions in the short term, then making a profit depends on luck like gambling. Now when it comes to investing in Bitcoin the investor will decide whether he will trade depending on luck or will follow the DCA method with a long term mindset and invest in Bitcoin. Ultimately this mindset proves whether you are investing or just betting temporarily on luck.

Bitcoin investment is a mindset and you need to understand it to have the right mindset and if you just go in without understanding it amd trying to make luck from it then you may be taking a big risk. Succeeding in an investment is all about what you know about the investment and if you dont have a better understanding of the investment it will result to some challenges that can lead to lose. Bitcoin investment is not like gambling that one must only rely on luck, their are understanding an investor needs to grab to make the investment be a profitable one.

Focusing on profit. I’ve noticed that many newbies who’ve just entered the world of investing, especially in Bitcoin, are no longer driven by an interest in Bitcoin technology or the purpose for which it was created, they’re drawn to it because of its profit potential, and as we know, the only way to make big, quick profits is through trading, not by building a long-term investment. Therefore, you need to get your mindset right from the start. Ask yourself what your real goal is, if it’s just quick profits, you’re better off trading futures, quick profits, quick losses, LOL.

Bitcoin investment isn't try your luck.
Investment isn't what you should think of trying your luck because if you have such thought in mind, it will make you not take your bitcoin investment serious and that will lead to losses due to wrong decisions. Investment is about building and growing that business for the future. You are not after the short term out but a long term outcome and that will make you give yourself enough time to learn, study and know the challenges in the business to prevent you from unexpected losses.

That's true. If you just wanna try your luck then you have better chances at gambling to be honest, at least the result will be instant. Investing in bitcoin should rather be a long term goal because that's what will make you money in the long term. If your goal is getting rich quick then bitcoin isn't for you, as simple as that.

Ask yourself why are you here in the crypto space, to look for short term profit (weak hands) which will end up putting you in losses in the long run or you are here to build a future for yourself through your long term bitcoin investment. I have never heard any member here saying that Bitcoin investment is based on "try your luck" according to how you said it. I think I have heard that before but it was a side talk from people I consider non Bitcoinist, I am confident to say that members on this forum knows better than this, except it's for a new member that have not lasted on the forum for a long time but old member knows so well that Bitcoin is not based on luck, they know that Bitcoin is an asset that rewards patient holders and not weak hands that sell when price is low. With my knowledge in Bitcoin, I can not say it's an asset that its reward is based on luck, no! Making profit from Bitcoin is certain as long as I buy low and hold for a long period of time, however the only thing that can prevent me from making profit is if something bad happens to Bitcoin in the future or I sold at a low price below the amount I bought it. What are the challenges that will disrupt a new investor one from being a long term investor.
Let's discuss.
Financial challenges, lack of planning their investment, investing more than the amount the person can afford to hold for a long term, losing interest in long term holding and therefore selling at a cheap rate.

Investment is about building and growing that business for the future. Basically bitcoin weren't created for investment purposes, but most of us had it in mind that were created for investment purposes...The main objective of creating bitcoin is for exchanges of goods and services and also be an independent authority, but now everyone who comes into bitcoin always consider it as investment plans, that's where we it wrong most times.. You are not after the short term out but a long term outcome and that will make you give yourself enough time to learn, study and know the challenges in the business to prevent you from unexpected losses. The best methods for holding of bitcoin is for long-term, those who is involved into short-term are the one's that's curious to make profit with bitcoin immediately they purchase bitcoin, despite that the price of Bitcoin is not stable....I think it will be encouraging to hold bitcoin until when is best for you to sell..

Regardless there is still an element of luck in the whole Bitcoin investment stuff Something that doesn't have at least, 90--100% guarantee, will also have luck to play a significant role, and in the case of bitcoin the encouragement we get from higher Intrest, whales buying etc. Makes us forget that this stuff isn't totally guaranteed for success, but regardless we hope for the best and invest anyways

There is a guaranteed chance of making profits from Bitcoin more than any other crypto. For investors who prefer to hold over trading for short-term gains, it is also optional to trade/hold Bitcoin, or both can be done separately and correctly. One thing is for sure, in as long as Bitcoin retains its potential, investors buying now will not regret doing so, the only difficulty is not losing patience, very necessary to maintain a long-term mindset. Bitcoin has already lasted more than a decade, and we do not have trouble with serious adoption, Bitcoin will continue to grow.

Bitcoin can only be a try your luck for someone who doesn't know why Bitcoin has value. For some of us who know Bitcoin's price history and what it has accomplished, we won't think of Bitcoin as a way to try our luck. We will preferably invest through DCA, as we have been doing for long time without checking the price of Bitcoin regularly.
My advice to those who are not sure about investing in Bitcoin, is to start with a little money they know they can risk, not the amount they can't risk over a long time

That question needs to be asked before deciding to enter the crypto space because it’s a long-term commitment. Being in the crypto space requires a cautious approach when choosing which coins can provide returns that won’t lead to regret—such as coins becoming worthless and ending up like trash in your wallet. It’s not unheard of; there have been many instances where coins ended up having no value, even though people initially invested with the goal of profiting from their price at some point in the future. Bitcoin is different. There is only one Bitcoin—unlike most other cryptocurrencies available in the crypto space. If it’s not BTC, then it’s not Bitcoin, and if someone places their hopes in Bitcoin, that’s not wrong at all. The most fundamental challenge is the inability to survive.

First, whether short or long term, one should know what he or she is doing. There are people that are trading Bitcoin for short term gains and they are doing well. Some are doing long term and they are also doing well. I think the best way to actually put it is that people should find what works for them. Don't just follow anybody blindly. Know yourself and do yourself. Learn from people's mistakes and don't try to make those same mistakes. Even at that, you too will make mistakes. Learn from them too. That's how you grow.
One thing I know that can disrupt a new Investor is when he overloads his brain with so many strategies to be a long term investor. Let's face it, information overload is dangerous and it can cause severe damage than someone that doesn't know any information.

First of all, investments aren't businesses, so they shouldn't be called that. And then, I think you are confusing yourself with trading and investments, because in general, when a person decides to buy an asset to keep it for either medium or long-term, they are making an investment, but when someone aims to buy an asset and sell it quickly to make some profits and make an exit, they are actually trading and not making investments. People try their luck in trading and not with investments, because if their intention is not to hold, they are not investing in the first place.
So, now that we know we are talking about trading and not investments, I do agree with you that those who consider and treat gambling as a tool like gambling where they can simply try their luck to see if they can make some money from it or not usually end up losing money instead of making anything. If someone wants to try their luck, they should join a casino platform and play some casino games instead of joining an exchange and playing with cryptocurrencies.

In reality, investing is not about trying your luck or gambling; rather, it involves reading and extensively studying trends, recent charts, and the general performance of the markets. Only by investing with an informed understanding can you achieve real gains.

Some people take advantage of it for short-term profits and they take advantage of the price fluctuations that occur by making scalping trades. This is not wrong, it is just a quick trading method to make profits quickly but with good technical knowledge of analysis. If you just try and don't know how technical analysis works and how to read the chart, then this will be fraught with risk. I myself in a few years ago had quite a lot of Bitcoin and it was indeed for the long term until eventually my main goal was achieved. Far below the current ATH. Even though selling early, but if the main target is achieved, that will be a good profit. And if you look at the current price, just keeping 2 BTC I will have more money. But there is nothing to regret, Bitcoin investment is not just a trial and error but a Crypto investment that continues to grow over time. Whoever still survives or has the rest of the Bitcoin investment in the past, it will be a very valuable asset.

But saying that people should choose what works for them is a statement that I find troubling because trading Bitcoin for short-term purposes isn't something that's easily done with a high rate of getting profits because Bitcoin itself is a volatile asset, and you can never identify the pattern or specific movement of the market to utilize to get profits based on your short-term trades, and this is why and where the option of long-term investment exists, long term investment is more safe and although still risky there is high chance of making good returns if we plan to invest on a long term basis.

Agree with your points, but "none of the traders are smart enough to avoid losses" is a bit much. Some do fine. They just don't post screenshots when they're down, so you never hear about them. All these loser traders' money go somewhere.
