What is Monzero?Monzero is an independent privacy currency built from the Monero codebase. It runs its own chain (genesis block 25 August 2026) with its own address prefixes, ports and emission schedule. It shares no history with Monero. - Private by default: amounts are hidden with RingCT, senders are hidden in rings of 16, and every payment goes to a one-time address.
- Mined, not allocated: RandomX proof of work, built for ordinary CPUs. No coins in the genesis block, no ICO, no token sale and no developer fee in the block reward. The founder mined most early blocks while the network was being tested; see Founder mining below.
- Paid for forever: a smooth emission curve toward 100 million XMZ, then a permanent 3.26 XMZ per block tail, so miners keep securing the chain.
Specifications| Ticker | XMZ | | Algorithm | RandomX (rx/0) — XMRig compatible | | Block time | 120 seconds | | Block reward | ≈ 183.9 XMZ now, declining smoothly; 3.26 XMZ tail | | Primary emission | 100,000,000 XMZ, then tail emission (≈ 856,728 XMZ/year) | | Circulating | ≈ 3,596,788 XMZ at height 19,265 (29 October 2026). Live figure: monzero.org/api/v1/supply | | Decimals | 11 | | Ring size | 16 | | Mined coins unlock | after 60 blocks (≈ 2 hours) | | Address prefixes | 86 standard · 87 integrated · 88 subaddress | | Ports | P2P 6174 · RPC 6175 | | Genesis hash | 84f9ebdac8924806f037482ec16fd59b271e954d3e00363dd6c7e4ce9dd659e4 |

Upgrade before block 21,000 (expected late on 31 October 2026, UTC): v1.0.0 switches difficulty to LWMA at that block. It is not a chain reset; coins and wallets are unchanged. Anyone running their own node, including solo miners, must upgrade. Every wallet (GUI, CLI or wallet RPC) must be updated too, even one that lets stop syncing at block 21,000 ("Unexpected hard fork version v17"). Your coins are safe either way; open the same wallet or seed in v1.0.0 and it syncs normally. Pool miners need do nothing. Private messages are visible only to the people in the conversation, but they are stored on the monzero.org server and are not end-to-end encrypted. Founder mining — please readNo coins were created in the genesis block and none are reserved in the code: every XMZ was mined. But most of the early blocks while the network was being tested, before the public announcement. Many people count that as a premine, and we want you to judge it with the full facts. The founder's published holding is 376,052.80 XMZ. When that statement was made (height 9,838) it was about 20% of all XMZ mined. About 3.6 million XMZ have been mined since launch, so the same holding is now roughly 10%, and the share keeps falling as others mine. The full statement explains how the coins were mined and will oof so you can check them yourself. It also sets out the founder's commitments: no selling for 12months, then at most 2% a month, announced a week ahead and never into a new market, and founder mining kept below a quarter of the network hash rate. Founder holdings statementThe network is still small: about 285 kH/s on 29 October 2026, much of it through the public pool. Mors make the chain harder to attack and dilute the founder's share faster, so please mine solo or run anode if you can. Status and risks- v1.0.0 is the first stable release and is signed with the Monzero release key, but the code has not been independently audited yet.
- XMZ is not listed on any exchange and has no market price.
- Nothing here is an offer or investment advice. Mine and test only what you can afford to lose.
- Found a security problem? Please report it privately: monzero.o
Roadmap- Done: mainnet (Aug 2026), CLI and GUI wallets for Linux and Windows, public nodes and explorer, mining pool with hourly payouts (Oct 2026), signed stable release v1.0.0 (17 Oct 2026), community forum (22 Oct 2026).
- In progress: an atomic-swap exchange inside the wallet. LTC/XMZ and BTC/XMZ swaps and refunest networks, including from the wallet's built-in light wallets, across two machines and after a power cut. Real-money trading is not enabled.
- Next: the LWMA difficulty upgrade at block 21,000 (expected 31 October 2026; update nodee then), more independent nodes and miners, an independent security review.

FAQIs this a Monero fork?Built from the Monero codebase, with its own chain from block 0. It does not copy Monero's history or balances. Is there a premine or dev fee?No premine, no ICO and no dev fee in the block reward. The founder mined early blocks like any miner; see the founder holdings statement in the first post. Where can I trade XMZ?Nowhere yet, on purpose. Listing waits until mining is spread out enough that the chain is hard to attack. Which wallet should I use?The GUI wallet on Windows, or monzero-wallet-cli on Linux and Windows. Write down your 25-word seed and keep it offline. My mined coins show as locked.Mined coins unlock after 60 blocks (about 2 hours). Pool payouts arrive hourly once you reach 1 XMZ. How do I check the pool is honest?Every block the pool finds is listed on pool.monzero.org with its hash; look it up in the explorer.

Exchange Listing Funding CampaignWe have received approaches regarding potential centralised exchange listings for Monzero (XMZ), with indicative costs of approximately $10,000 USD per exchange. As an independently developed cryptocurrency project, we do not currently have the financial resources to cover these costs ourselves. We are therefore seeking community support to help Monzero reach its next milestone: obtaining its first external exchange listing. Funding milestones:- Phase 1: $10,000 — First potential exchange listing. - Phase 2: $10,000 — Second potential exchange listing. - Total target: $20,000 USD. These figures are preliminary estimates. Exchange identities, commercial terms and additional liquidity or integration requirements must be verified before funds are committed. Why support Monzero?Monzero already has a functioning experimental blockchain, RandomX mining, downloadable software and publicly accessible development resources. You can independently inspect the project: - Network information and software- Blockchain activity- Development milestones- Source codeTransparency commitmentWe aim to publish a public contribution address, verifiable funding totals, expenditure records and updates on negotiations. Website update: faucet, node map, crypto news, Telegram alerts and moremonzero.org has grown from a download page into a set of tools for users and miners. Everything below is live now. For new users- Faucet: 0.1 XMZ once every 24 hours, to try a wallet. Accounts need a confirmed email and an authenticator app (2FA), and each payout address can only be used by one account.
- Payment request: make a QR code and payment link for an XMZ address and amount. Everything runs in your browser.
For miners- Telegram alerts: @Monzero_bot messages you when your pool workers stop, your hashrate drops sharply or the pool pays you. Send /watch YOUR_POOL_ADDRESS in a private chat with the bot. It never asks for seeds, keys or passwords.
- Mining calculator, your pool dashboard and a RandomX CPU benchmark list.
- Leaderboard with new 7- and 30-day boards (uptime, average hashrate, blocks). It is opt-in under a random pseudonym; add --share-history to the miner reporter to appear.
Network transparency- Node map: public nodes counted by country only (no IPs, regions or locations), seen from our EU and US nodes. Today: 7 nodes in 6 countries.
- Network history: difficulty and hashrate charts, collected every minute.
- Service status: whether the public node, pool, faucet and data feeds are working right now.
- Read-only API for network stats, blocks, nodes and more, plus guides for accepting XMZ.
Community- Crypto news: the day's top headlines from 25 crypto news outlets, ranked by how many cover each story, updated every 30 minutes. Sponsored posts and press releases are filtered out, and every headline links to the original article.
- Community voting: non-binding polls for feedback, one vote per faucet account. Polls do not change the protocol.
- Telegram group: t.me/MonzeroOfficial. The bot posts announcements, major crypto news and a daily pool update there.
Network today (20 Oct 2026): heightrk hashrate, pool about 290 kH/s from 10miners. Most hash power is still on the public pool, so solo miners and node operators make the network stronger. Reminder: upgrade before block 21,000 (about 31 October 2026). Anyone running a node and everyone with a wallet needs v1.0.0: https://monzero.org/# need to do anything. Questions and bug reports are welcome herees privately to security@monzero.org.

awesome, any ETA for public release? Yes likely will be in December. I will progressively work towards this over the next 2 months. We are pretty much there with Bitcoin and Litecoin, but we are implementing others and then working on the Graphical experience for users. Regards Monzero Team

Hi yes there is a bug bounty for this, unfortunately this bug was highlighted around 2 days ago with another community member. I will post the request and the results of the findings, fixes and bounties soon! we had a day off yesterday and enjoyed some skyrim Although you have not got the award for this specific bounty, if you can download the application and try and find other bugs i'm sure there will be some as this is experimental. If you have any suggestions at all too we will like to hear of them. on the 31st the network gets upgraded, if you can find bugs specific to the Studio for NFT's that would be even better tbh the 31st is when it goes live. We have some users ready to upload the first nft's if you can keep your eye on this update that would be amazing. --------------------------------EDIT---------------------------------------- I have updated the bounties page to include this bounty. Please don't hesitate to take part. https://monzero.org/community/bounties/Kind Regards Monzero Team

From the Monzero website: The founder's computers and test machines mined most blocks while the network was being tested, before any public announcement.
This is basically the original definition of a premine (before the coins were just allocated in the genesis block), so please remove the "No premine" item. While 20% is not that high compared to coins like Ethereum, it is still significant.

Thanks for raising this, it's a fair point and deserves a clear answer.
You're right that the founder's computers mined most of the early blocks while the network was being tested, before the public announcement. That was to make sure the wallet, the miner and the chain all worked properly before inviting anyone else to use them. Launching an untested network would have been worse for everyone.
The 20% figure is out of date, though. About 3.5 million XMZ have been mined so far, and I hold around 370,000 of them, roughly 11%. That share keeps falling as more blocks are mined, so please check the current numbers yourself rather than relying on mine.
To be clear about what "no premine" means here: no coins were created in the genesis block, and none are set aside in the code for the team, so every coin has been mined. I accept that early mining before an announcement looks like a premine to many people, so we'll reword that line on the website to describe exactly what happened.
Anyone is welcome to mine, and the more people who do, the smaller my share gets.
Kind regards, Monzero Team
