Hellow, Satoshi Nakamoto.

I am contacting you after a very long time.

I lost my wallet in 2009, so is there any way to recover or retrieve it?

I know the private key exactly.
If you lost your wallet in 2009. How do you know the private key ?

Even if Satoshi is the founder of Bitcoin, he can not help you because you have control over your keys and and your wallet and it its your responsibility to keep your keys safe and if it get missing, nobody will help you and try your best not to be decieved you can get hep from people that will help you get your wallet back if you lose your seedphrase. Satoshi created bitcoin and this doesn't mean he has control over your keys

I guess you mean "i dont " know the private key.
Even if you try to memorise the private key, it is not reliable because the brain can forget anything anytime. It is best to save the private key in a place that is reliable and only you can get access to it.

I am exhausted dealing with everyone who is constantly suspicious.

I will not discuss the 2009 Bitcoin wallet and password here.

Also, I will not talk about the story of Satoshi that I know here.

It does not matter if you do not believe me.
The 2009 Bitcoin wallet had no password protection and it was not possible to see the private key. That's why I asked.

If @OP is not trolling he could have solved his problem.  Several reply here are very helpful in recovering Bitcoin if the owner has the private key.  So from the message of @OP I feel that he is trolling.

If in case that @OP doesn't really know his private key but he has the wallet.dat file and he knows the password of that file, he might be able to access his Bitcoin by looking for a possible compatible applicaiton for his wallet.  Just make sure to multi-copy the wallet.dat in different places for back up.

You can check this link: https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/blob/master/doc/managing-wallets.md and just use AI to translate it to Korean.

Over the past two years, I have encountered countless fake Satoshis on X and in internet communities.

I am already exhausted to the point of exhaustion.

I was simply very disappointed that there was no way to send a message to Satoshi.

[mod note: merged consecutive posts]
I was about to advise you, bro, that you should not listen to anyone claiming to be Satoshi. They will only try to steal your funds. The first thought that came to everyone's mind, especially scammers, was that this person is claiming to be one of the earlier Bitcoiners who owns bitcoins from 2009 and could have a lot of them. And bro, can you at least confirm where you bought Bitcoin in 2009? This can give everyone a little clue?

Also, bro, never share your private keys or the .dat files with anyone. You can lose your coins.

And can you tell us why you want to have a chat with Satoshi Nakamoto? He is not on this forum anymore, his account is no longer active, no one knows who he is, where he is, or whether he is alive or dead. You have to state your exact problem rather than finding Satoshi.

Sorry for your loss man but unfortunately, Satoshi is not coming to help you, and this is because he left this forum years back, whether he is still active in the bitcoin ecosystem, no body knows, so I guess it did be helpful for you if you will accept your loss and peacefully move on, draw strength from the fact that you are not the only one on this boat, alot of people lost their bitcoins and still doing well today.

But hollup, you know the private key of the wallet that held your bitcoins? Anyone would think that with this, you can easily access your bitcoin by importing it on any good bitcoin wallet, or is there something else we don't know about?

I purchased this from Satoshi Nakamoto in December 2009, after being discharged with a disability due to an injury sustained during my 12 years of military service in the Air Force.
Sorry to hear that
Quote
The webpage I first visited had the name "Satoshin."
Let's  start from here, where exactly did you got the link to that "webpage" as you've  claimed. From the forum? If yes do you remember the name of the member that posted it? If No then where did you get it. Any website can be created to scam people.
Quote
The purchase procedure I remember from that time was: 1. Sign up for Google. 2. Log in and fill out the form. 3. Make the payment.
What form ? Can you recollect what details you drop.

Quote
4. A compressed B-money file arrives via email.

5. Unzip the file to find an e-cash file and a text file.

6. The text file explained how to store the data and had a strange stamp on it. It was likely a QR code, which only began to be used in Korea in 2015. At the time, I was unaware of QR codes.
e-cash file? There was nothing like walllet.dat file? Or something like private key( i am not sure if you can use core for that)
Quote
I have since lost the wallet and only remember the password I set back then.

The password I set at the time was 15 to 25 characters long.
The password is useless , if that was the only wayy you can access your Bitcoin then, that means you were probably scammed and also try to get more from you from what they sent to you.
Quote
I clicked the link and saw "Satoshi Nakamoto" on the English webpage, but I had not been able to remember the name since then.
That meant nothing, anyone can put Satoshi Nakamoto on a random "Web page" just to scam people

Don't get scammed, it's likely that you will start receiving PM on this forum right now since you have private key, do not give it up for anybody.
Don't be surprised if his the scammer himself Roll Eyes
These tactics have been used severally by scammers in the past and I do not know it works but in a nutshell, how this technique works is that, after the scammers post this kind of message, they expect people to come to their inbox to render help and while trying to help details might be stolen or claim that they just need a little deposit to access the funds

I'm not saying the op is a scammer but I am saying that, scammers also use this type of format to steal from people who are gullible and falls to their tricks.

I hate it when newbies and beginners comes out in the open asking for this type of help because it makes them look vulnerable, he has the private keys and he doesn't even know what to do with it, sigh.

I am very sure that OP must have been messaged too many times by scammers, people who are pretending to render help but are after that private key, there are ways to construct a topic by not looking like a innocent victim.

If you are still reading through here OP do not reply to any messages from any members, saying you have the private keys will attract them to you.

I lost my wallet in 2009, so is there any way to recover or retrieve it?

I am not someone who likes the internet.

I dislike posting on communities or receiving attention.

I used to strictly limit and avoid posting personal information on social media.

I started this conversation too easily.

I wrote this with the arrogant belief that my message could reach Satoshi Nakamoto.

I realized once again how foolish I was to try to reach Satoshi Nakamoto in just two years.

Why don't you learn how to quote correctly first, buddy? Then read the information about where and for how long the person you are asking for help has not appeared on the forum?

And yes, you are very arrogant, thinking that your appeal will be heard or fulfilled.

It's time to land on earth, my friend, and walk the earth with people like you.

In 2009, I was a disabled person who had been discharged from the Air Force after 12 years of service due to an injury, and I feared the future.

Although I could not speak English, I purchased Bitcoin by chance, but I was busy just trying to survive.
...snip..
What Air Force? Not the USAF or any other branch of the US military as speaking/reading/writing English is mandatory to enlist or be drafted.

Why are you guys entertaining an obvious troll/scammer?

There is no wallet there is no private key there is no person in distress seeking help. That is what I am reading out of this entire topic. There is just some guy starved of attention trying their hardest to have people reply and bump this thread. Or OP is a scammer trying to pull something.

I don't think we should entertain this bored spammer/scammer.

I think this thread should be locked.

Since 2019 and you still have basic knowledge of how Bitcoin operates. What have you being doing since?

Satoshi created it to be decentralised, even he can't help you.

But you have the most important asset of a Bitcoin wallet which is the private key. You can use that to access your Bitcoin.

But with the way you came to ask this question, who knows whether you are playing with us, or you just want baby-ish attention.

Don't say that, some people do lost access to their private key and they moved on without out until later they remember or luckily see where they hide the private key, this has happened to many people.

There are also some people with stucked Bitcoin in some harddisk that they can't remember the password anymore or the HDD stopped working for some weird reasons.

Many people moved on and some still believe a miracle can still happen.

Now, with the question of "contacting Satoshi directly" out of the way, is there anything we can actually help you with?

You said you lost access to your Bitcoin wallet, but you have the private key in some form - is that correct? Can you give us more information about it? (Just remember to keep that private key strictly private - never share it with anyone.)

The real Satoshi would not reach out to you after 2010; if anyone claiming to be Satoshi contacts you privately, they are certainly a fake.

Until now, I did not know who Satoshi Nakamoto was.

Two years ago, I learned that Satoshi Nakamoto is the creator of Bitcoin.

I would like to communicate with Mr. Satoshi, but there seems to be no way to do so.

The Real Satoshi would not reach out to you and it will be very good if you don't reply to anyone who claim to be Satoshi, you are talking about 2009 when Bitcoin was introduce, the only way to get the wallet back or to retrieve it is get the seed phrase, that is the best way because I don't think you remember the password or anything that will make you to have access to the wallet, another advice i can give about the wallet is that if you don't have any bitcoin inside or any asset, you should just forget about it, because you sound like someone who doesn't have the seed phrase or the correct one that will lead you to access to your wallet.

What I am trying to say is that instead of wasting your time to get the wallet back, if there is not any valuable asset inside, you can forget about it, but if you have something that is very important to you like Bitcoin, you should find a way to get the wallet back if you have something like private key that can help you to get access to the wallet.

People are still generous today but no one will dare show their generosity by sending OP or anyone any Bitcoin, this thing is way too costly for anyone to send around anymore.

You remember that Bitcoin barcode that a guy was holding in 2013 in a football field? I read it somewhere that people started sending Bitcoin to the address and later it was amount up to 20 BTC or something.

What a great time to be alive, but today it's almost impossible to see such from people, it's forever gone and never coming back.

Not the way OP presented himself, from direction there is nothing true about his wallet loss, he is just bluffing and playing around. Perhaps he wanted to try his luck in 2026 when we have all seen different simulation of scams of touching stories.

There are couple of old threads, 2010 or so where developers shared Bitcoin some Bitcoin. Some faucets were too generous then. I'm not sure if OP even know about any of this.

There are some devs that received community help after their contribution. I remember a post where Andreas admitted to have sold his Bitcoin and he had some help from the community. He is still one of the best thing to have happened to Bitcoin as developer and as a author.
