But it seems that the Australian government is thinking about the common people of the country and is trying to do something to save the people of the country from the terrible harm of gambling. The government is taking such steps so that big celebrities cannot attract people to gamble. If the government really wants to, it can create restrictions on gambling and implement them properly to protect the common people from gambling addiction.

I think their steps on preventing gambling addiction are much better than those of others who will ban gambling completely. I mean, there's no way gambling can be stopped, so all they can do is accept it and create some laws that will prohibit it from being advertised too much, which could lead to kids seeing it everywhere.

At least they are doing something. It may be an excessive approach for some people, especially the celebrities, because it means they are losing some of their gigs, but the Australian government must think bigger here when it comes to who will be affected. I read some news about gambling in Australia. Currently, Australia is in an emergency regarding gambling health issues. Placing ban on the gambling companies within Australia means the Austrians will no longer place bets on some of these sports mentioned here, and another thing is that revenues will no longer be generated from these gambling companies again. I think australia is trying to prevent children from getting addicted to gambling.  These celebrities are role models to young people and also people favourite celebrity and they can easily influence their fans when they are used for promoting gambling. If the government wants to do this it is not bad and they have a good reason.

for me, i think the Australian government has a valid point in prohibiting those celebrities from promoting gambling... since there are many young individuals who look up to celebrities and can easily be swayed by what they endorse. If they see that the celebrities they idolize are promoting gambling, then it could influence them into thinking that betting is normal or fun. It also shows that the government is making a reasonable effort to guide those young individuals from any harm associated with gambling. Of course, celebrities also need to take responsibility for the product that they are endorsing, particularly since they have young followers.

Not just australia but i think it will be better if faces that appesrs on gambling ads will be just random faces that are not popular or no face at all because even the face that is not popular they still have friends and relatives,  they are still known by few persons that can be influenced. I also believe this law will be beneficial, considering the overall situation especially for those individuals who might start placing bets not because they actually want to win, but because they subconsciously associate the advertised product with the success of the celebrity promoting it. One thing I am observing toward this ban is as a results of increasing much ratios of gambling addiction, but when they also consider the economic impact of gambling it has no much benefits from it because lot of people loses most valuable things around them. I think most have underestimated the power of these celebrities have on influencing their audience and followers. Most of these people that idolize a particular celebrity can potentially be a target audience of gambling given that they would do anything that their idols advertise or act.

I totally agree, it's like so many people become mindless zombies when it comes to the influence of these celebrities. This will help cut down the rate at which brands exploit this influence to lure gamblers to their community and the crazy part is even most of the fake brands that wants to scam can exploit this avenue since these influence don't fucking care as all they are after is just the cash.

Not really manipulation, I wouldn't use that word as it's too negative. For me, we can use the word influence, because nowadays, celebrities are also called influencers as well, so they have followers and when they promote something that will influence others into believing that it's right. Manipulation sounds more like something involving deception, so I wouldn't use that.
