AAAAaa yes. Casinos, the world's most lawful type of business model there is. Banning them to use celebrity names would definitely 100% for sure make them stop using it all together. Stake was from Australia, I think, which means Kick is as well. But I doubt they are "based" there; like, a company headquarters, etc must be somewhere like the Bahamas or Curaçao or whatever, for tax and license reasons, I am sure. I have not checked, of course.

But aside from that, Kick will have a ton of famous people gambling, like drake for example, and Australia will not be able to stop it. Worst case? Casinos will come out and say "we did not pay him to play here; he wanted to play here", and that's it, nothing more is needed, and Australia can't do anything about it.

Why am I confused with this process? I saw licensed on the subject which means they are legally allow to operate but can't use celebrities, how does that make sense. If this were to be unlicensed bookmakers, that means they have every right to stop them and sue them for spreading them for their followers. If the gambling regulations have to worry about celebrities promoting bookmakers, they shouldn't have allow them operate in Australia.

We have different type of celebrities now days, there are football analysts, these people do sports for a living a have millions of followers, I don't think there is nothing wrong to promote a bookmakers for sports mode. Most of these celebrities don't even have ways to earn money, if the governments takes this out of their way, they will not have means to do any promotions again.

Used to be cigarettes, then used to be alcohol,,, now its gambling. But I would rather celebrities do not make ads for products that are not healthy (food especially and even Ozempic now) first. Gambling is an easy target but man those ads about unhealthy food and snacks and trading apps and all that. Those are the worst. Kids all getting too fat or too thin. Gambling will get to them without the help of celebrities.

The new laws hasn't the purpose of cutting completely with gambling. It is just aimed to reduce gambling ads exposition. Personally I don't know celebrities promoting gambling platforms except players in stadium who wear tee-shirts of the sponsored company which can be a gambling platform. But I am ok with that because players in stadiums are watched by teenagers and children who might be easily affected by them.

Seeing that celebrities have influence over people, I guess this rule was made so that fewer people are influenced by the ads and end up trying to play because they see a celebrity promoting the casino. This might slightly affect the casino's marketing strategy, because promoting through celebrities allows them to promote their platform faster and gives them exposure to more people and in a more prestigious way compared to marketing the platform normally. But at least casinos can still promote their casinos, but maybe they need to use other strategies so that it can be more effective.

Not really that bad and it’s actually a rational decision on both cases. Celebrities actually mislead a lot of people, imo.. their advert aren’t even always inline with what the Casino offers attimes, they go extreme just advertise cansinos.
Someone should clear me on if Influencers also suffers same fate, should they be classified as celebrities too. Most Celebrities are influencers anyway.

No one said they could not endorse or promote,,, they just cannot do casinos. If that is the only thing they can promote,,, they cannot be that famous and casinos would not go for them.

Dude please read my posts,,, I am even explaining to someone who quoted me about this very same thing, I KNOW it is not about cutting off gambling, or even ads. The thread title says it all
