I think banning gambling from a country is not the way forward because people will still gamble secretly. I think the best way is to regulate gambling and just like you said anyone who breaks the rule should be punished. This way gambling will be regulated and people will be mentored so they won’t get addicted to gambling, because the only reason why the government wants to ban gambling is because it can lead to addiction and gambling addiction can lead to criminal activity, for example, if you are addicted to gambling and you don’t have money to gamble you may think about stealing just to get money that you will use to gamble, It happens a lot.
Regulation is better than stopping it totally.

A complete ban will always open the floodgates for unregulated market to prosper, they can't just stop one day when government think okay we are fine without gambling revenue but they don't understand the consequences and withdrawal of an addict if they can't do what they are addicted to.

Is it too late for the government for the movement to stop gambling with legal and illegal casinos? Many countries prevented their people in gambling yet some will use proxy and off-shore casinos.
People now are very smart and internet can give you access to every casino in this world, with the help of google, AI and some tools the platform is there and gambler will just choose it.
What we should have now is the movement to stop those Illegal gambling site, those who do not have licence to operate. Atleast if we cant stop casino, their gain will go some part of it to government and I hope that those taxs will go to the better community for its people. BUT! My personal opinion is that banning gambling and betting completely from an entire society will just prompt people to continue to partake in gambling on unregulated casinos and bookies.

Actually protection to people comes with education and literacy, in my opinion.
Most problem gambling cases start because the gambler himself does not understand that gambling is about entertainment and it is not a source of income. If more people understood that or were taught that, then there would be less gambling addicts.

It will be easier to not have people gamble in a country where they have always forbade gambling and have never had any form of legality with gambling than a place where there was once a legal gambling activity which is now getting banned by the government, my best bet is that people will definitely find a way around the ban, and it will be just exposing people to the unregulated guys and get them make money tax free from the society since they are not registered or regulated.

so i will agree with your idea of proper regulation, when once gambling has been introduced to a society and approved as a legal activity at any point, it becomes only better to get better regulatory policies around it, other wise it will only expose people to go about it the wrong way or the way the government may frown at. The reality is, banning casinos doesn't really protect all citizens in the country. I mean, there will always be those who will look for unregulated casinos and gamble there, especially addicted gamblers, but banning gambling could also reduce the number of people gambling in the country, since there will always be people who will follow the law. But if the government chooses to strictly regulate casinos, they should also expand their gambling awareness and help centres programs to help people who are suffering from addiction(I've said this before), and tackle issues surrounding gambling, because strict regulation isn't enough to actually protect people who gamble, but doing this would probably also mean they would have to spend more money on those programs.

I believe that banning online gambling doesn’t mean that people must stop gambling. Most people will definitely find another way to gamble, most  especially when they can access unregulated casino that doesn’t have a proper license or follow the gambling laws in their country. The problem is that when people are gambling in unregulated casino, it may become difficult to get help if the platform refuses to pay winnings, disappear with their money or close someone account without adequate explanation.

Unlike regulated platforms, some of these casinos don’t have any strong authority that players can report their complaints too.  But on the other hand I understand why some government restricts online gambling, especially because of  underage gambling, gambling addiction, and the financial problems of some families.

The best is for governments to regulate it properly. Like you said even when there’s restrictions, folks are still going ti find other ways or means to continue gambling . Especially those that are addicted and can’t stay without gambling.

When people start gambling at unregulated casinos, they become more vulnerable to different forms of harm because there are no proper regulations in place to protect them or ensure responsible gambling practices. So, the best approach is for the government to introduce proper regulations to protect its citizens.

Totally banning casinos never really solves the problem. It just makes more players go to offshore casinos. If the government wants to regulate gambling, they could tighten the rules for it. At least the government can expect that many players will still play in regulated casinos, and they can still get tax revenue from that. If they totally ban gambling, it will only hurt them because they won't have any control over the industry, and many players would just turn to illegal or offshore casinos instead.

If it is completely banned, gamblers will probably find other means to gamble and they may get cheated while gambling through all those means. So I think that instead of completely banning it, it would be a better decision to completely control it. Because when there is complete control, the government will be able to get a lot of revenue from this casino and with that revenue, the country can develop.

When the government is able to completely control it, if a gambler is cheated, he will be able to take action against that casino. Maybe it will not have to face such problems as it has to face now.

Banning online gambling can't really stop someone from gambling, because there are many online gambling platforms. They may even start gambling on a platform without license and this is even the worst of it all. The reason why government may ban gambling is to protect its citizens from being addicted to gambling, especially to protect people that are underage but this may not solve the problem of exploitation since they may be gambling in an unlicensed platform. As for me , I think the best thing is to regulate gambling activities and to ban any casino that fails to adhere to those regulations.

I also agree with your point that issue such as underage gambling, family discord caused by gambling, financial ruin and associated social crime cannot be overlooked.

But is any blanket ban really the solution? Certainly not!
My straightforward view is that rather than imposing any total ban it would be wiser to ensure proper and smart regulation. Government could enact strict law, while simultaneously introducing transparent licensing system. And any casino that breaks rule will face such heavy financial penalty and sanction that other casinos wouldn't even dare to contemplate doing same.

It should be made mandatory for licensed operator to use self exclusion tool and deposit limit to protect those prone to addiction. They can also use real time AI monitoring for this task. Same time, burden of tax and compliance must be kept manageable, so that people do not abandon legal platform and turn to black market.

I do not even see religion as enough reason to make gambling illegal, except it's the agreement of majority of people in that country irrespective of the religion those majority of people belong to. If a country decides to ban gambling because they have more of Muslims than other religion, then it's bad to deprive other people from gambling when they don't have same religion with the majority. Addiction effect should have been a better reason but still not enough because addiction is caused irresponsible decision of a growth adult old enough to make good decisions for themselves but decided not to.

This goes both ways if the government decides to ban gambling. Two or more things can happen. But first, let's look at the first one.

People might gravitate into using VPN. But if strong laws and enforcement is in place, you'll see that less and less people will gamble in online casinos. What might happen is that there might be illegal gambling activities is some spots or areas. Nothing the government can't handle if they want to ban it completely.

Regulation for casinos and gambling houses will definitely be better than outright banning. Outright banning will not be productive. Government will end up putting the economy in retrogression sort of because they are already generating money from it as tax. It is different from countries who never allowed gambling officially but to ban it where it was existing would cause so many challenges to the economy. For example, it will cause real big job loss because those who work, earn and depend on what salary they get from it will be out of job. It will also lead to social disorder and government will end up fighting insecurity and other vices also addiction. This is because some people still relax with gambling as fun and when that hobby is not satisfied, they may look the other way, get influenced negatively which will have adverse effect on the economy.

Meanwhile, banning it doesn't mean the country will totally be free from it because there will be illegal and unlicensed casinos that may even start scamming people who patronize them slyly through VPN as they can not legitimately take their complain to any instituted regulatory organization in the country.

Do you think Government are not aware of this , they know what to do ,how to do and when to do everything but uf it's not for their gain they won't do it, do you think Government ban gambling online sute because of children rights? That's big lie, they do it because they couldn't agree on license fund, when a gambling sire couldn't pay Government they ban it using children rights to cover up their mess.

It's very hard to ban gambling in this era, people will still gamble with VPN access,  the best way is to strengthen a campaign against gambling addiction and the danger of gambling to the society,  this will help children to know what's up to them in the future in they gamble. Gambling is as old as man; it would be hard for the government to achieve total compliance with an outright ban. Gambling is a habit that is very hard to avoid, so people will always seek means to satisfy their urge.

I have always been an advocate of strict regulation instead of an outright ban. It will make underground or illegal gambling more attractive, expose citizens to risk, and rob the country of revenue.

I think that it is better for the government to regulate gambling properly than banning it.  It is true that banning gambling forces people who are into gambling to go underground.  The government cannot stop people from engaging in gambling.  Rather than missing the profit on this industry, the government should regulate it instead and protect its citizen properly.

At the first sight it looks like it protects the people, but deeper, it causes more harm to people who are engaging in illegal gambling activities because there is no protection for these gamblers at all.
