I think two major things actually come into play here which are niche and advertising reach. For the niche part of it, most of the casinos here are selling to forum members who are immensely involved in bitcoin and crypto in general and have a high tendency to consider privacy and decentralization.

Secondly as for the advertising part, virtually many too casinos online already offer no KYC services so logically others coming into the ecosystem need to at least meet up in standard before even competing.

Been noticing more crypto casinos pushing the whole no KYC thing lately and tbh i think thats how crypto gambling should've worked from the start.

i mean whats the point of using crypto if you still gotta upload your passport, take selfies and wait for someone to approve your account just to play or withdraw your own money... that's lol...

Theres already quite a few names around 'no KYC' sectore like BC.Game, Shuffle, Frenzy and others.. going for different levels of crypto-first experience and less friction. Not saying all of them are fully no KYC tho cause thats another story.

Personally i think people are getting tired of all these verification steps especially when some casinos only bring up KYC right when you try to withdraw - and thats probably the worst part of it for my humble opinion

_______________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________

but im just curious, if no-KYC is actually becoming the norm or its just another marketing thing ?

what do you guys think: would you trust a casino more if it doesn't ask for your docs or does that actually make it more suspicious? -_-
I understand where your question is coming from. But we need to understand that using crypto does not mean we're invisible, and if we look back some years ago, there was no need to go through KYC when using a crypto casino and sportsbook. Things changed when most governments and big tech giant were interested in crypto, and when some gamblers are using gambling platform to clean their illicit crypto, but some gambling platform like Jack.com still manage not to prioritize KYC until something suspicious is involve (that's the KYC is request when the user is using the platform for something shady even when user never have any winning).

That said, pure no KYC is still more of a marketing angle than a real standard right now (for most gambling platforms that are not decentralized), and most total no KYC platforms are now requesting it to keep their service running; that's why a lot of sites advertise no KYC, but their terms usually say they can request verification anytime, especially on bigger withdrawals.

Online casinos don't exist in a vacuum... If they accept fiat deposits, they have to interact with banks. If they want their players to play stable, official games from major providers, they have to work with licensed game providers. If they want to obtain licenses, they have to interact with government regulators.🙋

That's why many online casinos require KYC (identity verification). Governments want complete transparency of information and financial flows.

At the same time, people demand anonymity and confidentiality. By completing KYC at an online casino, you risk having an unscrupulous casino employee sell your personal information to criminals. And this, in turn, can have more serious consequences than non-payment of winnings.

In my opinion, casinos with KYC and casinos without KYC represent two parallel paths for casino development.  There are also casinos that pretend they don't require KYC, but then when you try to withdraw your winnings, they start requiring KYC. That's the worst!🧖

Have you been asleep for the last few years? It seems like you don't actually know much about the scene and it's actually dangerous the information you present. Shuffle is quite clearly not a "no KYC" casino like you claim. Nor is Bc.game, but there have been scam accusations circulating about them too so better to stay well clear. It's more than likely that Frenzy is not either. Every casino, especially when they advertise here, likes to claim they are no-kyc because we're a privacy conscious bunch, but very few names when they grow big enough will be. Maybe years ago or even during a short start up period they might advertise that idea, but if they are in a reputable jurisdiction which you should want them to be, then they are going to need to conform to basic financial regulations which always require this of casino customers. So no, it's not becoming the norm and the evidence you put forward for that is false or you've been duped into an incorrect understanding of it.

For casinos that use the slogan 'noKYC,' it's more of a marketing strategy because they usually don't enforce KYC when it's required, and they usually explain that in their terms of service. That's why you shouldn't be lazy and just sign up without understanding what you're signing up for.

But I think using crypto is more about convenience than privacy. So if the casino requires KYC when requesting a withdrawal, then that's not a big deal for me.

At this point, I recommend that we have a unified thread that will be dedicated to just KYC discussions. We have had multiple KYC-discussions here that the replies are just going to be the same thing.
Don't get me wrong, I am not criticizing the OP, I am just think out loud.

It is both becoming a norm and it is also a marketing thing.
There is already so much push backs from players and casinos are realizing that they have to find a way around it.

Trust me, as long as the AML policies are still in place and casinos are to abide by them, they will be ALWAYS be KYC. It may not be direct but it will still exist in one form or another.

No kyc until you win something big Grin

Thats what bothers me most. They all love talking about privacy until its time to pay you. Id rather know the rules upfront than find out after i got lucky ones in a while...
Haha
That is the shitty game by the new casino that has no money to pay winner, they often comes up with excuses and stuffs to avoid paying a winner because their whole company will go bankrupt causing them to force stop operation.

I have stopped trusting new casinos either until they proof themselves enough to mean what they mean.

I have no problem if a casino start asking me for kyc when they state it very clearly that they are a kyc casino, what I don't like is when a casino says that they are a no kyc casino from the start, but when time for withdrawal comes, they start asking for it, that's automatically kills the trust I have for them because they actually started with a lie. And if you presses further, they will start showing you that it is written down already in their TOS that kyc will be asked if they find anything suspicious, these are one of the reasons I pay serious attention to a casino TOS in other not to fall victim to such deceit.

The game is changing, crypto casinos already have their own marketing strategy that sounds appealing to gambler's most especially those on a cryptocurrency forum like bitcointalk who have high value and regards for privacy and who will be interested in any platform that doesn't request their personal details and verification before they can play on those casinos.
My conclusion is that, NO KYC slogans have become a marketing terms used for casinos that don't requests for players verification of account at the point of registration.

I haven’t seen a push towards less KYC. I’ve seen the exact opposite actually. I think KYC will continue to become more common as regulators get more involved in the gambling space. This seems obvious as it continues to grow. Always be careful of casinos that don’t require KYC, because they could be playing fast and loose with the law.

This is certainly used as a marketing strategy and many casinos use it to attract gamblers.

However, i’ve often noticed that this only works for relatively small deposits or withdrawals, when dealing with large amounts, in some cases you still be required to complete KYC for various reasons cited by the casino. That’s why it’s important to carefully consider where you gamble, don’t be immediately drawn to a new casino just because it offers games without requiring KYC. It’s crucial to always read the terms and conditions.

I think it's not a valid argument to say that what's the point of using crypto if you have to go through KYC and other stuff, because you are using a centralized platform and crypto is just a payment method you are using, and the ease for using crypto is that you don't have to go through the hassle of your transactions getting stuck or having to wait for your transactions to get confirmed from your bank first and then you would get your deposit in the platform. With crypto, you just use your wallet to send the funds, and they are depositing without any third-party intervention. So these two are totally separate things.

If we say that because we are using crypto we shouldn't be asked for KYC, then we should simply find and use decentralized platforms where we won't be asked for any of those things, and, this isn't only about gambling, there are centralized exchanges as well and you can't do anything in there as well even though they only allow crypto trading, but since they are regulated, they have to comply with the regulations and ask their customers for this.

KYC-free gambling will not become the standard, because regulators wouldn't want or like that, and they won't allow gambling platforms to operate without collecting user information because they have to tax both the platforms and the gamblers.

It may not matter to you but it does to me coz most of this information being shared with the casinos are very personal and important, such that could affect me whenever this information leaks or is breached which we all know is very possible even though the chances of it happening is slim...I don't know who is who and who is against me, that is why I so much value the security of my personal informations...So if my informations are going to be secured and protected from the eyes of a third party, then I may not really have a problem with it.. Then again I don't always like blaming casino's from doing it coz that tactics will help curb the activities of folks who are very fond of taking advantage of bonuses or those who engage in fraudulent activities..The honest truth is that if casino's allows users to freely deposit and make withdrawals without any scrutiny, dishonest players would definitely exploit that in such a way that would bring about a negative consequence to both the honest, straightforward players as well as the casino's..

but im just curious, if no-KYC is actually becoming the norm or its just another marketing thing ?

what do you guys think: would you trust a casino more if it doesn't ask for your docs or does that actually make it more suspicious? -_-
It is all tiring and dangerous. Sometimes there are also issues with the process even if the same KYC data worked with some previous platforms already, making it even more frustrating and annoying. No-KYC is the future, but if the regulators are going to allow that fully we will have to see yet. For now there is some gray area here and they are not the primary targets. I think in the future we will see two kinds of systems everywhere if no-KYC does not disappear for the sake of regulators. One is the most common we see now, with accounts and username. The benefit of this is that once a gambler deposits crypto this way, the history of his betting is going to be private and only the gambler and the casino will know it. The other is where you just connect your wallet to the casino and play. The benefit is that there is no registration, passwords, it is much easier. But the problem is then that the whole betting history will be publicly viewable and most people don't have the privacy skills to hie that properly by changing wallets often.

Sometimes it might just be a way to attract gamblers' attention, marketing. There's a difference between those that claim to be KYC-free and those that actually are. It's good to read the terms of service, search review sites and even directories that list this type of site, like some we have here on the forum, to make sure you're not creating an account thinking you won't have to do the verification and then getting frustrated. Every casino depends on the region in which it operates and, sooner or later, may or may not be required to demand verification.

Would you trust a casino more if it doesn't ask for your docs or does that actually make it more suspicious?

I can’t fully trust those crypto casinos that don’t require KYC, because, in the end, if we commit any violations, we’ll be required to fill out an identity verification form. That seems fair enough to me, but they shouldn't be asking for KYC the moment we’re just signing up for an account. Well, that’s what 1 of the crypto casinos with the initial "S" is doing on this forum. I used to use them, but since they implemented emphasis on KYC, I left them behind.

NO DEPO CODE VEGAR7, NO KYC Casino

The no KYC is seen as a market strategy, so far after getting deceived with this pattern the casino still request for KYC before allowing withdrawal. Few casinos are genuine but, seems like this pattern is becoming more popular so which casino are we going to believe? The stories we see about friendly casinos online are sometimes not customer friendly likewise the No KYC tag, surprisingly the casino will let an easy registration process and then things change suddenly with verifications including the disclose of personal informations, from my observation casinos only make statements like “no KYC” because customers want to hear such meanwhile they also want to protect their casino with the mindset KYC verification will go a long way.

Usually casino still going to implement the KYC most of the time especially on local gambling platforms that was registered locally and regulated by the governemnt it is just inevitable most of the time.

I guess on crypto gambling platforms this no KYC thing is a huge thing, even here in the forum most of the users are not going to be interested on a gambling platform that required a KYC, most of the time users are just going to go with a no KYC platform, I mean for sure this was a huge marketing already into the casinos since they are able to attract a lot of users because of this, but there are still some platforms that would just trick users if they are not going to fully read all the terms and conditions.

For me it is just both. it is for sure a new norm and a marketing as well, It's not necesarrily I wouldn't trust them but as long as I can gamble and withdraw my money without the KYC it's already a good platfrom.

It's truly against to the public opinion if no KYC casino = 99%% scam casino. You may be able to argue no reason to reveal your identity when you're trying to hide it by using crypto casino, but it's not even worthy when you deposit your money to non KYC casino, then you get scammed.
There have been plenties of cases about KYC casino ran away with their customer money, should not it a lesson to you?

KYC became a standard for the casino to be able to operate in a territory, and it's to ensure they won't be raided by police in the future. I'd rather use regulation compliance casino instead of risking my money to gamble on non KYC casino.
Losing 50k just to use non KYC casino is not even worth.

In fact, non KYC casino becoming no norm, and it's just BS marketing trick to lure people being trapped.

I agree with you.
I believe gambling and betting with crypto is rather about convenience and not necessarily about privacy (unless we talk about privacy enhancing coins, like Zcash or Monero).
I would not be gambling and betting if I was forced to use a credit card or a bank transference, instead of cryptocurrency.

When it comes to gambling and betting, decentralized assets are superior to FIAT money. I say that from the point of view of someone living in a country in which it had turned increasingly difficult for people to acquire a international credit card.
