Before the official announcement of the index Ebola case in Nigeria, I have been wanting to create a thread on major diseases that affects Nigerians. Ebola is an hemorrhagic fever caused by Marburg virus found in Africa monkey. The diseases is transmitted by blood and droplets what this means is that it is very contagious. With Nigeria announcement of a case in Abuja, the ministry of health and public health department will try to contain the virus from spreading. These measures will require a huge some of money.

This announcement very close to the election one will know that the government wants to siphon more money for election after the 10 billion naira that was released in June for Ebola preparedness they still want more.
The minister of health said the case was a Ugandan national, the Uganda ministry of health reported that as the time Nigeria made an announcement they have no active Ebola case in the country.
Who is saying the truth, as a Nigeria government or Uganda 🇺🇬

Bola as they call him a political strategist can do anything just for his re-election bid. For you to know that is all politics no travel ban has been issued from people coming from Uganda, no hospital has received Personal protective Equipment, the Senate is asking for approval of an emergency funds, use of face mask has not been made mandatory or encouraged.

The government will wait till the numbers are high enough that campaign activities will be suspended, which will hurt the opposition.

This is a plot to win election not outbreak of Ebola

Nigerians have every right to ask how the money which was approved was spend and if the hospitals and the necessary medical practitioners are very well prepared but because there isn’t a travel ban or requiring that people start wearing mask does not mean the outbreak is been fabricated. We shouldn’t just conclude on that this is happening for any political gain rather our focus should be on taking proper health measures before conclusion is drawn:

Well, a pandemic does not have to write to us that it is coming before it hits a nation. if it is actually true that there are cases of Ebola Virus that have been discovered, it is only necessary to be swift in following it up and not politicize everything. The challenge we have always had is that we are not a proactive people but a people that sees every opportunities as an avenue to loath from the national treasury.

If the pandemic breaks out by January and it get really serious, it is capable of leading to the suspension of an election and fact is that the opposition party does not need to do serious campaigns because an average Nigerian at this point should have already decided on who he is voting for all the offices. If we and our politicians continues to play politics with everything, one day, an actual pandemic will break out and we will suffer it the most.

Ebola is an hemorrhagic fever caused by Marburg virus found in Africa monkey.
It is commonly transmitted through monkeys but the virus is also found in fruit eating bats, Chimpanzees, Gorillas, a specie of antelopes and Porcupines. All these animals have reportedly infected people before with ebola.

Well, a pandemic does not have to write to us that it is coming before it hits a nation.
It is epidemic not pandemic. If the diseases is spreading to continents, it is pandemic just like COVID 19, but this is in four West Africa countries and France. It is still epidemic and not pandemic.

It is obvious that many Nigerian has lost hope in this current administration. From the look of things in the country, I am forced to believe Uganda version of the story. Although, I don't have any evidence but with the level of corruption in the country, it is hard to tell if this ebola case is actually true. If ebola is actually confirmed in Nigeria, this government may not be able to contain it. My concern is if they are prepared to tackle this issue of ebola,  if it is true. However, I would still advise people to be careful because they may be right about the ebola outbreak.

To contain Ebola, the government can actually do that at its own expense without needing to ask for billions of naira. Tbh, the government thinks we have degraded IQ. I'm wondering how foolish they think we are to believe them.

Even if there is a reported case of Ebola, the numbers are few, probably not more than 10 cases that can be controlled in an asylum with the money the government has. During political periods, the government always finds a way to steal money for political campaigns. This time around, they are lacking the best manipulative story, before, they thought of using Ebola as a means to embezzle funds for political interests.

I’d like to clarify this.

None of these Governments are “not saying the truth”, the Uganda Government made this announcement to clarify that the woman didn’t contacted Ebola in their country but that doesn’t mean that she doesn’t have Ebola and the Nigerian government is just making things up.

This is exactly why the Ugandan Government made their announcement because they don’t really have any Ebola epidemic in their country.

Btw.. I don’t understand why the Senate wants an approval of an emergency fund, for what exactly? The confirmed case is only one person and the people that have been in contact with her are already isolated and being tested as per reports, so what do they need that much money for?

This is a plot to win election not outbreak of Ebola

This is a familiar pattern with the government and we know these things but some persons will still be acting like they don't know what's happening and what the government intentions are. Imagine just only one case of ebola, if at all there's any case but they have went ahead to approve 10 billion naira. Who are they even trying to fool in this country. I know that these whole thing is just to cause disturbance since election is upcoming, they want few people to come out to vote while others will be scared to come out because of the fear of ebola that doesn't exist. This country is finished because everyone is silent and that is what they like. They want people to feel weak and tired so that it will enable them to carry out their ulterior motives.

I find it very difficult to accept this, and I'm still hoping that is not true. Because with the kind of hardship that the Nigerians are actually facing now, this outbreak is going to be a tough case to handle. People are struggling to put food on the table, how are they going to cope with this kind of health problem. Maybe is just that the politicians are looking for a way to steal more money, and that's why they are cooking up stories. May God keep us safe and may he not test us with more than we'll be able to handle. Since election is fast approaching, we should be expecting different things and stories.

Bro don't be misled, this is Nigeria and a lot of propaganda is ongoing with this Ebola outbreak which is more political than ordinary, we've heard before that Peter Obi wants to embark on a mega rally in Abuja, and we all know that Abuja is his strong hold, the federal government have quickly gone to announce that there is Ebola outbreak so there wasn't be any rally or campaign for Obi in Abuja this  campaign period, however this might not be the true story but a lot of people are suspecting that this is the motive of the federal government.
