I'd like to bet 1BTC on which pool gets the next block.  Will Vegas take this prop bet?

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

I'm sure someone could set up a site to automate your bet. It would have to be at least the block after the next though.

Big miners could actually get an edge by betting on a pool and then switching to mine on it. They would have to have a couple of % of the total hashing power though Cheesy

Im surprised the prediction markets dont offer the ability to wager on this.  I suppose it wouldnt generally receive much interest though with all the other faster ways to already bet your bitcoin.  You could definitely find a private party to give you action here though

Try bitcoinlivebets or betwithbtc.com

But why bet one whole BTC? You could lose all of that.

Thanks joksim299! Indeed - we are very open for such bets.

Are you still interested in this bet? We already have various bets on the difficulty: https://www.fairlay.com/event/category/bitcoin/difficulty/

What should the bet look like? What pool mine a certain block?
What about: what pool mines the most blocks from block 298800 to 298850?

This would allow to hedge against bad luck at mining?
