Is democracy just a showoff label for the dictators now ?

Yes!

And also for billionaires and lobbyists. Maybe bankers.

The recently concluded elections in Brazil is an example of democracy though. I mean where exactly the people decide on who wins and who takes them to the next level. I believe they know what's best for them and have done justice. Unlike other nations and their endless sermons of democracy while they scheme and plot to do otherwise.

I haven't seen or heard about any country having 100% democracy no matter how the law is being respected in the country citizens are not going to be treated equal by the law for example in my country Nigeria the constitution of the country is not being followed accordingly by rules of the constitution of Nigeria the law favors does who are from the royal home.

I don't believe there is any country having 100% democracy however I believe there are countries that are having 70 to 80% of democracy, and this country that are having 70 to 80% of democracy are doing very well, those countries that are having less or no democracy at all are those countries that are not well developed.
I know that we have some countries that are also developed but has zero democracy such a country can never be a country enjoyed by its citizens.
Democracy is what makes a complete nation.
An well educated nation can practice better democracy . because they are aware about their rights. so education is one of the most important factor to establish democracy. independence of media is another parameter to judge democracy.

Have anyone of you seen a 100 percent democratic country since your childhood. I haven't because no country is perfect at all. Some problems are there always. However there are a few countries which aren't perfect but they do care about democracy's, believe in of the people , for the people and by the people and are very close to be called 100 percent like Norway( haven't to share any link Because everybody knew that).

But there are so called Democratic countries having zero percent of democracy like Pakistan( I am myself a resident) but the media is in there control(Establishment) , the elected were jailed while they selected a person of there own. They show the world that they are pure souls but instead they are dictators. Same is the case with north Korea and Russia as well. May Be the procedures are a bit different..

there is not a single country in the world who has 100% democracy. Although most of the country in the world called democracy. I belong to Bangladesh and I saw it since my childhood people are still fighting for a good democracy. The United States is one of the model of democracy but I think there is no 100% democracy. Meanwhile in the third world democracy is so far away from the people.

The US  is seen as one of the poster children for democracy mostly because it's got the biggest media machine and the strongest soft power on the planet. In reality it does not even crack the top 10 or 20.

Going by what the member above shared , it only ranks 34th and falls into the flawed democracy category. So its really not as democratic as  it's cracked up to be on social media. The top spots still go mostly to the Nordic countries.

Democracy is a plague. It corrupts the good in a matter of time.

What happened in Brazil can happen in any part of the world. The people voted for who they wanted and got the desired result because the electoral authorities are trusted to declare the winner based on the votes not based on bribery and corruption.

For a free and fair election to continue in other countries, the electoral authorities have to be trusted not to rig the vote.

Need more clarification about what you mean by 100% democracy because most people do not understand your point about this 100% democracy.

Switzerland, and it is boring to death.
It's actually refreshing to live in such countries if you don't like the political drama that most countries experience, not just that they are very democratic they are also well prepared in case of any foreign attacks or let's say cases like a third world war.
I have so much respect for Switzerland I think it's a well functioning country and like a good example of how a country should be ran, but one man's treasure is trash to another man that's why it's boring to some.

I do not know if there is any country that is 100% democracy but I still like how some countries like the UK, Germany and many countries in Europes are. Many others countries are dictatorship in a modern way. But the most annoying part is that people are also voting for the wrong people. To even know someone that can be right to vote for can be hard. Someone you think will do good may be very bad when he becomes the president. Dictatorship government is also not bad as some people can portray it.
You know, the future leaders of the country will be good in front of his people already get empathy and support that he will run the job with amana, in fact after becoming president is not as expected and the officials are more concerned with his power to be stronger.
I would not be surprised now many governments like dictators even though the country they call democracy.

The only reason anyone can comfortably say dictatorship is not a bad type of leadership is that the person has not experienced what it feels like to live under one. Dictatorship has nothing to do with the head being a strong leader, it is just a brute force type of leadership that suppresses all angles of opposition and exact maximum authority on media and brutalizes any citizen who dares to speak against the government. There is no room to vote them out and no courtroom to seek fair hearing regarding any type of offence.

To be honest, when it comes to our country, democracy is limited only to the constitution. I have not seen its application in real life so far. For the last 15 years, dictatorship has ruled our country in the name of democracy and it fell through a movement. And last year, another dictators are came again in the name of that democracy.
Actually nowadays, the term democracy has emerged as an umbrella for dictators in the international arena. Not only to deceive the citizens of the nation but also to seek international aid and help, they stage these fraudulent elections. You will observe that it is always very easy for any large international organization or any donor nation to deal with a government which is just a democracy in name. Therefore, the leaders who have gained a monopoly on power create a perfect performance with the use of ballot box and the media in order to establish themselves as legitimate in the international arena. In reality democracy has now become a legitimate title rather than securing the rights of the people.

I also don't know of any country with 100% democracy. Maybe some small European countries come close, but I'm not  sure about that. To be honest some of the world's most powerful countries, with nuclear weapons and advanced military equipment, is mostly control by a dictator such as Russia, China, Pakistan, and North Korea, while the US and Israel have their own democratic challenges but i m also sure that there political system is also corrupt. I know this might sound a little confusing but it amazes me that a strong leader with more control can govern a country more successfully than a democratic system. However having more control doesn't always mean better governance.
