Is democracy just a showoff label for the dictators now ?
Yes! And also for billionaires and lobbyists. Maybe bankers. The recently concluded elections in Brazil is an example of democracy though. I mean where exactly the people decide on who wins and who takes them to the next level. I believe they know what's best for them and have done justice. Unlike other nations and their endless sermons of democracy while they scheme and plot to do otherwise.

I don't believe there is any country having 100% democracy however I believe there are countries that are having 70 to 80% of democracy, and this country that are having 70 to 80% of democracy are doing very well, those countries that are having less or no democracy at all are those countries that are not well developed. I know that we have some countries that are also developed but has zero democracy such a country can never be a country enjoyed by its citizens. Democracy is what makes a complete nation.
An well educated nation can practice better democracy . because they are aware about their rights. so education is one of the most important factor to establish democracy. independence of media is another parameter to judge democracy.

Have anyone of you seen a 100 percent democratic country since your childhood. I haven't because no country is perfect at all. Some problems are there always. However there are a few countries which aren't perfect but they do care about democracy's, believe in of the people , for the people and by the people and are very close to be called 100 percent like Norway( haven't to share any link Because everybody knew that).
But there are so called Democratic countries having zero percent of democracy like Pakistan( I am myself a resident) but the media is in there control(Establishment) , the elected were jailed while they selected a person of there own. They show the world that they are pure souls but instead they are dictators. Same is the case with north Korea and Russia as well. May Be the procedures are a bit different..

there is not a single country in the world who has 100% democracy. Although most of the country in the world called democracy. I belong to Bangladesh and I saw it since my childhood people are still fighting for a good democracy. The United States is one of the model of democracy but I think there is no 100% democracy. Meanwhile in the third world democracy is so far away from the people. The US is seen as one of the poster children for democracy mostly because it's got the biggest media machine and the strongest soft power on the planet. In reality it does not even crack the top 10 or 20. Going by what the member above shared , it only ranks 34th and falls into the flawed democracy category. So its really not as democratic as it's cracked up to be on social media. The top spots still go mostly to the Nordic countries.

What happened in Brazil can happen in any part of the world. The people voted for who they wanted and got the desired result because the electoral authorities are trusted to declare the winner based on the votes not based on bribery and corruption. For a free and fair election to continue in other countries, the electoral authorities have to be trusted not to rig the vote.

Switzerland, and it is boring to death.
It's actually refreshing to live in such countries if you don't like the political drama that most countries experience, not just that they are very democratic they are also well prepared in case of any foreign attacks or let's say cases like a third world war. I have so much respect for Switzerland I think it's a well functioning country and like a good example of how a country should be ran, but one man's treasure is trash to another man that's why it's boring to some.

I do not know if there is any country that is 100% democracy but I still like how some countries like the UK, Germany and many countries in Europes are. Many others countries are dictatorship in a modern way. But the most annoying part is that people are also voting for the wrong people. To even know someone that can be right to vote for can be hard. Someone you think will do good may be very bad when he becomes the president. Dictatorship government is also not bad as some people can portray it.
You know, the future leaders of the country will be good in front of his people already get empathy and support that he will run the job with amana, in fact after becoming president is not as expected and the officials are more concerned with his power to be stronger. I would not be surprised now many governments like dictators even though the country they call democracy. The only reason anyone can comfortably say dictatorship is not a bad type of leadership is that the person has not experienced what it feels like to live under one. Dictatorship has nothing to do with the head being a strong leader, it is just a brute force type of leadership that suppresses all angles of opposition and exact maximum authority on media and brutalizes any citizen who dares to speak against the government. There is no room to vote them out and no courtroom to seek fair hearing regarding any type of offence.

To be honest, when it comes to our country, democracy is limited only to the constitution. I have not seen its application in real life so far. For the last 15 years, dictatorship has ruled our country in the name of democracy and it fell through a movement. And last year, another dictators are came again in the name of that democracy. Actually nowadays, the term democracy has emerged as an umbrella for dictators in the international arena. Not only to deceive the citizens of the nation but also to seek international aid and help, they stage these fraudulent elections. You will observe that it is always very easy for any large international organization or any donor nation to deal with a government which is just a democracy in name. Therefore, the leaders who have gained a monopoly on power create a perfect performance with the use of ballot box and the media in order to establish themselves as legitimate in the international arena. In reality democracy has now become a legitimate title rather than securing the rights of the people.

I also don't know of any country with 100% democracy. Maybe some small European countries come close, but I'm not sure about that. To be honest some of the world's most powerful countries, with nuclear weapons and advanced military equipment, is mostly control by a dictator such as Russia, China, Pakistan, and North Korea, while the US and Israel have their own democratic challenges but i m also sure that there political system is also corrupt. I know this might sound a little confusing but it amazes me that a strong leader with more control can govern a country more successfully than a democratic system. However having more control doesn't always mean better governance.

The leaders makes it even worst because the feel like they are above the law, and no body to challenges of queries our leaders to check mate if they are really doing what is in the law and obey it. Democracy is good, but people handling it.

Nothing can be 100% sure or right. Democracy cannot be 100% in a country because of politics and interest. If you are the one conducting an election you are going to likely Favour the person that you love most. Because of this attitude that human has, it will be very difficult to have 100% democracy in any country, it will never happen no matter how developed and reasonable the people of a country are there will never be 100% democracy in that country, except humans are not the one’s living in that country, if it is only robots that is not being controlled by any human then there can be 100% democracy, but as long as it is humans that are living in that country there can never be 100% democracy.

Is democracy just a showoff label for the dictators now ?
Look, there is a common saying that a cat that goes into the forest becomes a tiger. Only on paper and pen, the country is a democracy, but in reality, if you visit, you will find very few countries whose governance is somewhat meek. But in the remaining countries, there are countries where the governance is absolutely bad, those who have power abuse that power and consider themselves tigers. In a democratic country, the rights of the people should be given importance, but in no way is it effective, but it has become a monarchy. A one-man rule will do what they say and their successors will come to power later, it is natural, dictatorship has been introduced in the name of democracy only by corruption.

In my opinion, there is no country in which democracy can be 100 percent complete. There are some countries in the world where democracy is strong and everything is provided according to the will of the people.Democracy is also very weak in my country. It is not that there is no law in my country. The law is very strong but its implementation is very weak due to which the people are not provided with facilities and the people do not have equal rights. If we look at countries with strong democracy Norway comes at number 1. Everything is according to their needs. Everyone gets their rights laws and facilities equally.

What does 100% democracy mean?
If something is 50% democratic, it's not democracy at all...
In every cases, democratically or not, people are having what they are going for. They accepted endorsing a rigged game, so they can't complain at all when they are cheated by another participants of this game.
This may also be the case in my country, we have a democratic system in the election of leaders and some democratic culture is applied as any other rights it's just that in practice the same as you mean, not fully democracy, there are legitimate ways in which the abuse of power that does not violate the law but limits democracy itself. Sometimes it is thought that democracy is only a name if it is not accompanied by other important elements in its fair application.

Which country have their own way of how they practice democracy and this is why it may not applies to host the same way, democracy should be the reason why people should have their voices heard and not to silenced them.
Democracy is the situation whereby people have the full potential and understanding of their human rights and are ready to express them in situations whereby they are not being covered well by those whom they choose to be their leaders.

If we talk about country like Pakistan then democracy is a showoff because the real powers are held by Army. Being a resident of Pakistan, I can say that meaning of democracy has lost its essence here as Army and their civil allies leaders are snatching every possible right from the common man either its right to vote or its freedom of expression. Every important decision is made here by Army chief and anyone who go against Army is given strict punishment. No country is perfect in terms of democracy but in countries of Europe and west, democracy is still in place and people have proper legal rights but in countries like Pakistan dictators are using a dummy democratic governments to rule from behind.

In our country democracy only means implementing policies on the people. The ruler tries to strengthen the country's democracy until he gets the votes. When the ruler is elected the people do not get their full rights which makes democracy incomplete. The ruler will betray the people's opinion rights law fair treatment and even the promise of fulfilling the needs of the people and the people will become slaves of the ruler. If the people ever get a chance to say something they will say something or the other and distort the people's decision. In this way a democracy of our country can be of any good where the people have the right to vote but are not allowed to improve their lives and financial stability.

I completely agree that Norway and some other Nordic countries have a very strong democratic system and this ranking provides a very useful way in which we can compare countries based on their government accountability, elections and civil liberties. But I don't think that democracy can be entirely judged on an index. Sometimes a country performs really well in official measurements but citizens are not that satisfied with the system and how it works. We cannot dismiss these rankings and systems just because everyone's experience is not described here. This is based on well-established criteria and it provides a very good way to compare each country. A perfect democratic system may not exist but some countries clearly protect the rights better than other countries. We should focus more on how good each system is and how effectively it is protecting the rights of the people and also responding to their needs.

I think that, at the current time, democracy is limited to a tag that governments use to stabilize the people of their countries and to build an identity at the international level. It is true that not all countries give freedom of speech to their citizens, but according to democracy, it is the people's right to choose their leaders according to their choices, criticize the government, and highlight its mistakes. We should take lessons from Norway because Norway has many problems, but its democratic system supports addressing them.
Does democracy give financial and personal security to a citizen of any country, because in many countries it is just a part of the law, but in reality it is not applicable in a single area of that country. The reason behind it is the corrupt leaders who come to power through connections, not by votes
