Focusing on one trading pair especially BTCUSDT and using higher time frames gives you a chance of having a high win rate. I don't think it's a bad move and I believe most professional traders do this.

- Do you trade only BTC, or do you trade altcoins too?
Sometime top altcoins but Bitcoin mostly

Quote
- Which timeframe do you use?
It depends on my trading strategy but I have to admit that  higher time frames have not been bad for me

Quote
- How many trades do you usually make per month?
This also depends, the higher the time frames, the less trades

Quote
- What do you like or dislike about focusing on Bitcoin instead of trading multiple coins?
The only down side is you have to be very patient since BTC is less volatile lately

The 4h timeframe has been performing well even over the past month, despite the market being in a sideways phase. What timeframe do you trade Bitcoin on?

It doesn't matter whether you just trade bitcoin or hundreds of shitcoin, the real question here is, are you making profits?

If yes then you are good trader and a good trader don't need to hear what others say about their trading method, technique or which coin they are trading in particular. Stop giving a shit about what others say.

Share your experience. I'd love to see how other traders approach the market!
I trade other pairs generally, not just coins, I trade gold, silver etc as well

And in trading I don't use 1 specific time frame, I combine multiple time frames to get a good set-up,
I might not be accountable for the amount of trades I take in a month, but I take trades anytime I see a good set-up, and I could get to take about 3 trades per week sometimes

And focusing one 1 pair to me may seem boring I personally do want to be in an active trade most of the time,.I dislike a stagnant account.

I trade other altcoins but to be honest, BTC is what I trade most and my focus is more on it than other altcoins.

The timeframe I focus on are from daily timeframe to get the direction of the market, then I move down gradually to lower time frames for execution. My trades are mostly taken on the 15mins timeframe after a lot of analysis on them.

My number of trades depends on the setup I get. I just don’t go by as many number of trades that I can but what I do mostly is that I focus more on clear setup instead of taking any trades.

Focusing on bitcoin is very good, it is not as manipulative as the other coins. When you analyse the market, you have a good chance of predicting the direction best and not end up mixing things up for yourself.

I'm curious - how many of you trade BTCUSDT exclusively, without touching altcoins? Or am I a dinosaur in the crypto market? 😄
You are not on this alone. It's either Bitcoin or nothing.

Quote
Personally, I use the  4h timeframe. My approach is pretty slow-paced, with around 2–4 trades per month.
This is surprising. You mean only 2-4 trades a month? That is small for a 4-hour timeframe on Bitcoin. Bitcoin hardly sustain a long-term consistency that can make me keep my trade for that long. It must have swung back the opposite.

Quote
I'm interested in hearing about your experience:

- Do you trade only BTC, or do you trade altcoins too?
- Which timeframe do you use?
- How many trades do you usually make per month?
- What do you like or dislike about focusing on Bitcoin instead of trading multiple coins?
- Bitcoin forever.
- I use multiple timeframes for filtering and higher precision.
- At least 8 trades a month.
- I have no regrets but focus sticking with Bitcoin only.

Do you have any custom alerts set up for your trading? Are they just notifications, or do you trade fully automatically? How much time do you spend finding and monitoring setups?

Bitcoin is the most suitable trading asset against the USDT, I don't look at altcoins in most cases because the few times I try them, it really ended me in big loses that didn't go well with my finances because I get liquidated.

Bitcoin offer me the peace I need to practice the real patience that trader's are required to have as a basic survival  technique for traders.

According to what Byebyebtc posted, he is using multiple time frame. That means he is using the time frame while analyzing the market and not about notifications or alerts.

If you are interested in setting alert, exchanges have it. I have used it before and I do not like it. I prefer just push notifications.

It was only at the start of learning how to trade I tried trading more than one pair, but so far with all the noise in the market, I have lost so much and with real world time constraints, I solely focus more on BTCUSDT these days.
I must admit it helps a great deal in filtering out noise most especially in the market that favors big time merchant as compared to retail traders that get lost and liquidated mostly when altcoins is attempted.
There's deep liquidity in trading just BTCUSDT than altcoins, better mental clarity and lower friction encountered.

No, you just like to focus on 1 trade

Quote

Not always, I also trade bitcoin but not daily or weekly

Quote
- Which timeframe do you use?
1 day time frame, I am not in a hurry and a bit lazy to analyze

Quote
- How many trades do you usually make per month?
1-2 open positions, because the target is close so sometimes maybe 3-4 buy & sell positions in one month

Quote
- What do you like or dislike about focusing on Bitcoin instead of trading multiple coins?
trading is more relaxed and the risks can be tolerated

That's a swing trading strategy and it works really well for Bitcoin whenever the price isn't ranging.

- Do you trade only BTC, or do you trade altcoins too?

I mostly trade BTCUSDT, but in order not to force trades, I add ETHUSDT and HYPEUSDT so that I can have more trade opportunities.

- Which timeframe do you use?

I identify zones on 4hr charts then I refine my entry to 1hr and sometimes, 15 minutes and take the trade from there.

- How many trades do you usually make per month?

Several, I'd say 10 in a month or more give or take because in a week, I can get 2 to 4 opportunities depending on how the market moves that week. So that rounds up to around 10 to 15 monthly all things being equal.

- What do you like or dislike about focusing on Bitcoin instead of trading multiple coins?

I'm quite comfortable with my current approach since it gives me more opportunities.

Hey everyone!

I'm curious - how many of you trade BTCUSDT exclusively, without touching altcoins? Or am I a dinosaur in the crypto market? 😄

If only you're that of the dinosaur, you can still diversify on trading both bitcoins and Alts because anyhow, that bitcoin is the first crypto and traded decentralized digital currency, there had also been some O.g Altcoins that has existed after 2 to 3 year's existence of bitcoin.
Bitcoin was introduced in 2009 and we had Alts like the Litecoin and the Namecoin laughed in 2011 with the XRP and others follows from 2012.
So you see that if you were that a dinosaur as thought, you'll still find other coins valuable and interesting to trade with.
So trading on bitcoin only or diversifying could just be a choice.

The 4h timeframe has been performing well even over the past month, despite the market being in a sideways phase. What timeframe do you trade Bitcoin on?

4H time frame in Bitcoin: Not totally sideways or consolidation, but it is a slight downtrend with liquidity grab to the upside.

Most traders here actually trade only in spot; with the current market structure, the price must be monitored for potential buying opportunities. Since Monday is approaching, we might experience some spikes in London Session or NY opening.

It would be a good idea to go with altcoins once we see some divergence or high buying frequency.
Swing trading is better in Bitcoin, not good for scalping because of less volatile compared to altcoins.

Hmmm, that's interesting......!!!  Cheesy

Well, I am Forex tarder and most often I trade XAU + currency pairs and that's make me feel better bcz I am accustomed with it but I also trade Bitcoin when it's give me a right setup. Like swing....

.....
Personally, I use the  4h timeframe. My approach is pretty slow-paced, with around 2–4 trades per month.
Huh that's long suffering..... !!!

TBH I can't wait too much like U....  Grin
In months I took at least 15 to 20 trades rather swing......

Besides that regarding through analysis I used 1H with the alliance of Weekly blueprint and sometimes when Stop got too long then simply I used Bell weather time (15m) after impulse move......

Regarding through crypto I just only trade in BTC and the reason behind BTC is it's volitility (Volume). Most of the Alt didn't have any good volume and that's make me feel bored.....

I will suggest to all just stay with a Bitcoin because it's behavior always been in mature range and if you have good touch in analysis then probably it's will give you a thrilled moment. Rather than Bitcoin no one have the mature behavior rather than Bitcoin synonym setup. Even some of them also got manipulate too easily. So that's why we retails always avoid form this kind of thing....

- Do you trade only BTC, or do you trade altcoins too?
I usually use the direction of BTCUSDT to determine the movement of the market because of the big influence it has on it. If BTC is buying, chances of altcoins that move in correlation with it to BUY as well is higher.

Quote
- Which timeframe do you use?
4H, 1H, 15M

4H to see market direction, 15M for entry.

Quote
- How many trades do you usually make per month?
Fewer trades in a month are better than entering trades frequently; it is a better recipe for success.

Snip

I'm interested in hearing about your experience:

- Do you trade only BTC, or do you trade altcoins too?
- Which timeframe do you use?
- How many trades do you usually make per month?
- What do you like or dislike about focusing on Bitcoin instead of trading multiple coins?

Share your experience. I'd love to see how other traders approach the market!
I personally often trade Bitcoin because its market price is clearly more stable than altcoins, which are always highly volatile. However, I sometimes trade Ethereum (ETH) as well, as I see that, even though ETH is an altcoin, it clearly has at least some advantages over other altcoins. So I enjoy trading both coins.

Regarding time frames, I personally look at several time frames, such as daily, 4-hour, 1-hour, and 15-minute. These are all very important, especially for me, who sometimes dabbles in intraday trading and scalping. For swing trading, 4-hour and daily time frames are certainly sufficient. But it never hurts to look at a few more time frames, as I do.

Regarding my monthly transactions, I'm not sure, but I typically only make two to three entries per week. So, if you multiply that by four weeks, that's roughly 10 entries. But I can't say for certain, because personally, when I see an opportunity, I just go for it.

Speaking of focusing solely on Bitcoin when trading, it's clear that eventually, we'll learn the habits associated with that coin. Then, our risk management can also be better organized. Focusing on just one coin is clearly very beneficial, as it allows us to focus. That's my conclusion.

This is quite related to what I want to start doing . You trading only one pair shows that you are disciplined trader. Doing so will also help, when come to risk management. Is good that you are trading only bitcoin , but hope your trading doesn’t affect your holdings too cause as a trader or someone that’s into bitcoin is good to have some stash of bitcoin.

For now I trade some few major coin , but I’m planning to reduce it further . Cause I also trade in the finance market too , and trading multiple coins won’t help that much because all coins are different so you have to figure out the one that aligns with your method of trading.

I trades with no fixed TF , I usually use what they call step down analysis. When you will start analyzing from higher TF - LTF, to be sure of the Market structure more .
