Have you ever tried to save money for several months just to get something very important to acquire or accomplish but only for one unexpected expense to take out most of what you have saved, if not all? You have tried hard to limit unnecessary spending, you pay every necessary bill and try to save small whenever you can the suddenly something bad happens, your car breaks down and needs repair, medical bill comes up or something if emergency just happens. Before you know it, you are back to square one, where you started.
I have had a few personal experiences with this an thats why till date, i always keep an emergency fee with no label. That is simply want they things get out of hand and i need to quickly support myself and to do this comes with a heavy bit of sacrifice because to gain that stability where even when till go terribly financially you can still somehow survive it, you must make sacrifices with even the littlest things you do and how you spend your money especially when you have a set goal that you want to accomplish. Like in my house, once i enter, if i am holding any cash, i put it in jar. Now the cash are usually transport changes or when i withdraw and i get a change from buying something and i still have my normal emergency fee with no label. Now that jar at home, i know how many time it has saved me from situation where i have no network but i new cash urgently. so all these just came from my own experience with finances, it just something i still do.

What matters the most is how big is this "unexpected expense"? Sh*t happens and sometimes you need a thousand dollars urgently, but sometimes the amount is very big and there's nothing you can do. Life is full of ups and downs and we have to survive and get thru the bad moments. For me, it's not about the money, it's about having the mental and physical strength to get back on your feet and keep grinding. Having a bigger income always helps a lot, so our main priority should be maximizing our income instead of saving money for the sake of having money for a rainy day.
Well that makes our life more challenging due to unexpected expenses that totally drained our savings. And this is another life lesson for us that saving isn't enough, but creating more sources of income either through side job or investments that will help us eventually achieve financial stability. But we all know the process isn't that easy. It takes so much positivity and motivation in life so we'll be more driven to keep grinding. Because the moment we stop, there will no longer be chasing of chances and opportunities in life.

Placing your money left over from your salary in a money jar after you get out of work is a concrete safeguard from failures of the banking system. To maintain financial independence of yourself, it becomes necessary to make certain sacrifices in terms of expenditures on insignificant things in order to ensure the basics for your survival in case of a sudden disaster. Saving money that is not planned for any definite purpose acts as an ideal tool for the sake of dealing with emergencies. The unpleasant lessons learned by one in the past helped create a mechanism for self protection that is very rational and down-to-earth. The tranquility of mind when encountering financial calamities comes from physical readiness kept on the table at your home.

For those who have managed to build financial stability, what helped you most? Was it increasing your income or you just find another way to protect yourself from unexpected cost?
The point is, if you want to feel more at ease with all of this and not worry too much about urgent needs, you definitely need to have an emergency fund. With that,, you won't have to worry about your savings being depleted. So, start saving now for two things regular savings and an emergency fund. This is clearly crucial, as emergencies often come unexpectedly. That's why I think this is the solution for those of you who feel like a single need can deplete your savings. But, if your income isn't that large, I can't blame you, because with limited income, managing money becomes more difficult. So, the point is, you just have to fight. If your income is low, then you have to think about how you can increase it. Because that will also affect other things, like your savings and emergency fund. So, stay motivated, and never give up.

Good advice you gave here. One of the challenges that people face in the course of saving money is emergency needs. Emergency needs requires emergency funds which is why it is important to set aside an amount that can sort out any emergency needs that will occur when you are saving, then if the urgent situation is bigger than your emergency funds that is where you will consider taking part of the money you saved and balance it up but in a situation where you don't any funds for emergency purposes, you will end of using all your savings to handle that need which will kill the zeal to continue saving because you will be scared to save again and another emergency needs takes it up again. Emergency funds helps in times of savings or investing because it stands as a hedge that helps us not to tamper with our savings during times of emergency needs.

Often times, I have met some people who are of the opinion that diligence is the most important factor when it comes to saving money, I don't quite agree with that principle, diligence and discipline are two requisite factors to saving money because if you have to save money effectively then you have to learn to be disciplined in your spending and make sure you don't spend frivolously but then there is no way you can avoid spending when the reasons or the cause for spending are unavoidable, especially when it has to do with essential needs, such as utilities, medical bills, house rent, transportation, feeding and what have you.. The only way to handle all of these is to grow your streams of income to the level where you wouldn't be bothered even when spending on all of your needs. If your needs are way bigger than your income then you might still be struggling to meet up with them but if your income is way bigger than your needs then you wouldn't be under any sort of financial pressure.

That is a risk because not everyone has that much. You think that the world has a lot of people with savings? Just because we know some people who do doesn't mean that the average person does. The average American has 8 thousand dollars in savings, and that is average, which means that most do not even have that, and a lot of them have school loans and a mortgage along with it, so their savings do not even cover their debt. And that is America, one of the wealthiest nations in the world; very few nations (like the Swiss people, etc.) have more than that. So if the richest place has people who, on average, do not even have as much savings as their debt, then what about the rest? And you ask people to have not only savings, but also an emergency fund account? That is very unlikely.

I think most of us have experienced this, and that's why I've concluded that you should have more than two or three jobs. If you can manage them all to earn more money, even better. This happens because, at least in my case, I live in a country where salaries aren't good; it's not enough, and even if you earn relatively well, it still falls short of covering the basics.
To achieve financial freedom, I've determined that there is a clear path, and that path is BTC. But how? By actively and disciplinedly using the DCA method. Only in this way, and over the long term, is it possible to achieve it. I truly believe that's the answer, because believe me, I've experienced what the OP described many times. Sometimes it's better to take the leap into investing in BTC and buying during the dips. For me, that's the way out—obviously combined with hard work.

I feel that no matter how much you try to save, you will not benefit at all, because in the end an unexpected accident will come and make you lose everything you have saved.
I suffered from this for two consecutive years. In the first year, I saved money for a whole year, then my wallet was completely hacked. After that, I saved money for a whole year, then something unexpected happened that forced me to spend all my savings.. That's when I felt really frustrated and had a feeling that I wouldn't be able to save anything no matter how hard I tried.

The majority of the world’s population has no savings because they are unable to accumulate any. Another part of the population, which does have savings, considers the first group to be lazy people who are to blame for their own poverty. However, nowadays, many of them are beginning to see the light (when they are dismissed from a well‑paid job because they have been replaced by AI) and finally realize that the reason is not their fault. The employer, meanwhile, tells them the familiar mantra: you’re not good enough.
So, the poor are mostly victims of circumstances, not laziness. Consequently, there’s nothing that can be done about it. The problem lies in the excessive inequality, the concentration of wealth, and the improper distribution. This cannot be solved by individual measures (working three jobs and saving up by straining every effort) - everything will be lost in the next unforeseen circumstance.
What should you do? Whatever you do, it will ultimately be just an empty fuss. This is how people lived in the dark ages after the fall of the Roman Empire, and we are living at the beginning of such a time (the decline of globalism, the corrosion of the global dollar system, wars, crises, and the self‑destruction of capitalism as a whole). Expect a second Renaissance. Since the course of history is accelerating, you won’t have to wait several centuries. Only a few decades.
You’ve made a very accurate observation regarding the circumstances. Laziness is by no means always the cause of poverty. I don’t even agree with that. I know people who work multiple jobs but are still unable to climb out of the financial abyss, out of extreme poverty. Can you really call them lazy? No, not at all. I couldn’t bring myself to say that. Wealthy people often have misguided opinions. This is a pattern, not something unusual. I’ve written more than once about force majeure circumstances that can strike completely out of the blue. Will savings help in such a case? Partly yes, but those funds may not be enough to resolve the problem that has arisen or cover a large, unforeseen expense. Indeed, it’s absolutely essential to strive to have at least some money set aside for such situations.

Having more than one source of income is a good means of protecting your financial base. Someone with more than one stream of income would easily survive when one avenue suffers challenges. Some civil servants in my country have businesses they run to enable them to cope with emergencies. An insurance policy is another means of reducing the risk of spending on emergencies. Health, vehicle, fire outbreak, and other forms of insurance policies could assist in times of uncertainty. Paying the premium might be too much for low-income earners. However, those who can afford it could benefit from these policies.

Another factor to consider is that an emergency fund is good for more than saving. It's good for long-term planning, too. Without a separate reserve. They may be compelled to sell investments at a disadvantageous time or take out a loan at a high interest rate. It seems to me that it would make sense to start with a very small emergency savings account first. And then slowly add to it over time while saving for other things. When income is just enough to pay for basic needs, this is challenging, and an income boost is also important. Financial resilience is achieved through having some room to breathe and a strategy for getting back to your feet if you fall on hard times.

While it's true that even in a wealthy country like America, many people still struggle to have an emergency fund. But that doesn't mean everyone there doesn't have it. I'm sure many people have one. Furthermore, I currently live in a developing country, and I certainly have one. So, the point is, while it's true that a country's economy has a significant impact on the quality of life of its people, we as humans shouldn't just sit idly by. While it's true that having an emergency fund can be difficult, especially if our income is low, we should never give up on that desire. With persistence and hard work, anything is possible. So, don't assume that people in countries outside the United States can't have an emergency fund. That's simply incorrect.

Well I can say with expirience that building financial stability is not really easy, everyone has challenges in one way or the other which they somehow find way to scale through it. The truth is that people don't plan for unforseen circumstances but when it happens, they finds way to sort themselves out. But why the wealthy people seams not to be affected that much is because of their investment. When you save but don't have investment it is easy for unforseen circumstances to sweep you off your feet, but when your are a business person with many asset and businesses, such situations can only pinch you but you will later recover from your business.

Life has a lot of unexpected things, and events happen sometimes it occurs during our down moment like that. This is the reason why we must need to become a financial literate, how to manage our money properly, basically one of the factors is spending habit like they knew that there would come for another money but this is the worst case. what if no one comes? no one helps you to your rents and bills. You need to sacrifice things such even budget to eat. Sometimes life is the best teacher its teach you things while you are in the bottom just avoid having a lifestyle inflation once you have much money.

Human are meant to plan and budget for unforseen circumstances, even when one we locally called PR, like in Africa everyone who is up and doing having some financial capability is expected to render some help to the less previlledge,, many sees it as entitlement though it's not but one with such knowledge need budget on such demand, to avoid anything that will distract it's target, unforseen is the major problem as many lack those plans that cover despite the facts that one can't know all the unforseen circumstances it help in cutting down some destress of having most setback. It's part of human solving the challenge and striving make you the real man .

Some civil servants in my country have businesses they run to enable them to cope with emergencies. It is already difficult having or securing one source of income, talk less of having another one. In many struggling economy, there is difficulty in securing a stable paying job, and the people who are into freelancing offering their services seem not to be earning enough for them to sort their needs and have enough to find another source of income because you need money to find money, and because there is a bulk of people who do not have this money to find money, they are stuck on survival mode. No matter the advice, it is difficult for them to plan and manage emergency situations better, so in those cases, the best someone can do is to try to avoid habits that can land you faster into such emergencies, like an unhealthy lifestyle and then something like keeping late nights in places where you know it is not safe to do so as it is in some other places.

The frustrating part is that you may not have even done anything wrong because sometimes life just happens and while someone else might be able to handle the same expense without even stressing, it or may have to go and borrow money or put other plans on hold just to get through it. This is one reason for me to think that financial stability seems to be harder to achieve than it actually looks. It can’t just be about knowing how to manage your money, the problem sometimes is that there’s is not just enough money left after you have taken care of your daily need.
For those who have managed to build financial stability, what helped you most? Was it increasing your income or you just find another way to protect yourself from unexpected cost?
It has happened to me before, it won't say and it will passed, just like many hard times but don't let that stop you from achieving your goals it's not as if these bad times will come gradually like everyday thing, no matter how hard the situation might be, in time it will become the past. Also I like advising others to work on themselves, like earn more money because with more money the challenge won't be too effective in you as a person, if a sudden $100 challenge comes and that's all you have it's a different thing for someone who have $200 and unexpected challenge of $100 comes it's surely going to be easy for the $200 guy.

My suggestion was on a general note. I am aware that the global economic crisis is having a negative impact on many people. People are finding it difficult to save enough to enable them to invest. But we cannot assume that everyone is in this condition. There are still people who have the means to establish businesses or develop alternative skills. Highly sought-after freelancing jobs still exist. Those who don't have enough to invest should focus on survival until their income increases.

If you cannot increase your source of income because of various circumstances beyond your control, just focus on surviving first. Many people will give advice base on what works for them without putting into consideration other people's situations. If a person cannot provide for his basic needs, there is no way he will be able to have an emergency fund or even save for unexpected situations. There is no reason to put one's self under pressure to do them things that they cannot do for themselves as a result of their present financial situation. They should look towards increasing their income, after that is done, they can then have some savings and then invest some.
