I've spent a huge amount of time on crypto trading and development over the years. Countless hours experimenting with ideas, building tools, testing approaches, making mistakes, and starting over.

Sometimes I wonder whether all this time and effort will eventually pay off, or whether I've spent too much of my life trying to figure out something that may never work out the way I hope.

I'm still interested in Bitcoin, still experimenting, and still learning. But the longer I do this, the more I think about the real cost of the journey — not just money, but time, energy, and opportunities.

For those who've spent years trading or building things in crypto: have you ever wondered whether all the time you've invested will be worth it in the end?
You have your targets and reasons why you are trading Bitcoin, from what you said you have been into this for years now so it means that you have made profits because there's no way you would start something trading and be consistent with it if there's no profit that's made from it. It is certain that you have made mistakes and that's the same with every trader, the more you make mistakes you learn from them.

I'm into Bitcoin investment and there's not a time where I doubt if It is all going to be worth it in the end because I know that it's definitely going to be profitable. I would advise you to diversify your investments, while you are trading also hold bitcoin as well, this is the best thing to do.

Are you a day trader? Just being curious because I don't think day trading is profitable to a lot of traders that ventured into it, I think those kind of traders that holds a position for long term are more profitable than day traders because the more you want to chase quick profits in the market, the more you expose yourself to great risk and you also expose your emotions and mental health, so I think being a trader that hold position for long term is better than day traders that are using high leverage so that they can make good profit in a short interval.

I learned that some traders can hold a position for an entire bull or bear season, for example, such a trader must have already entered a long position when price got to $60k and will hold this position until price becomes bullish again and reach $100k to their target. I think thise kinds of traders make more profit than day traders because they are not chasing quick money.

@OP if you have learned from your mistakes and have knowledge of the critical factors that influence the Bitcoin market then yes, it will pay off one day.  Being able to learn from experience is the greatest factor why your years of trading will eventually take profit.

But have you ever consider to just hodl while DCA-ing?  This kind of strategy is way less frustrating.  You just need to buy and hold and wait for the right moment to sell. It may take months or years depending on your target price to tkake profit.

For you not to give up, then you already have the confidence that it’s going to pay off. You should know that trading isn’t so easy, and you going to lose some money in the process of learning, you going to spend so much time in the process of learning, but when you get the right strategy that works for you, you will be able to recover the money which you lost, and you going to forget about the stress which you went through. You should never doubt your bitcoin journey, just be consistent, be focus and take your time to expand your knowledge, and later in the future, you will realize that it’s worth it, you didnt waste your time.

Well, compared to before, I am now a better trader than before. I am still hoping that it would be worth it in the end, but my current stats right now seem still profitable even though I currently have a 60% win rate. I don't stick to Bitcoin; however, if we go with a higher time frame, we should focus on a higher time frame with patience if we want to stick to trading with Bitcoin because the volatility of this coin isn't the same as altcoins. Like, sample a 0.5% Bitcoin pump for an altcoin; it already jumps to 4-10%, which is not a bad deal if you are looking for an opportunity for profit.

Bitcoin is not good in scalping; if everyone is doing this, you always end up being hit by stop-hunt and manipulation. Based on my experience and analysis, the Bitcoin price action is not good if you are trading short term. You should focus on a higher time frame and analyze the price movement from the 4H to the daily to weekly time frame because there is lots of noise in the short-term price analysis. I'm just avoiding them and moving to other coins, not so correlated to Bitcoin price action. I sometimes trade with tokenized stocks and gold, but my trades are usually altcoins. I use https://cryptobubbles.net/ to look for coins that are pumping or dropping and analyze the price action and wait for pullbacks for entries.

Trading is not a do or die affair, so if it does not work, then other options can be explored instead of trading, and if you are not making a profit, the plan should change because I can beat my chest that the majority don't make shit from trading and they are still faking it.
Yes, trading is not a do or die, so you don't have to force yourself trading all throughout when you are not making significant gains until now. Try to DCA instead, as long as you have market patience and determination to keep accumulating bitcoin, profits get unlimited in the end.

The thing here is, you can't expect for quick profits unlike in trading, but you can assure that as long as you keep patient, you will not lose but you will reap what you sow instead and make massive profits after indefinite years of holding bitcoin.

It is true that you will not get exactly what you expected, but you have to remember that trading is very risky and not easy. If you want to make money, you must understand the trading strategy well and gain good experience. I may not know how you spend your time, but whatever time you spend on the trading platform, take it very seriously and hope you learn something.

You have been involved in this platform since 2017 which has been almost 10 years. You are not getting the desired results by trading, but you are not giving up trading. So now the question is, have you ever hodl Bitcoin? The price of Bitcoin was very low in 2019. It was $15k in 2022 as well, so how much profit could you have taken if you had invested. So if you are not getting good results in trading, then you should give up trading. Trading is not mandatory for anyone. And trading is not for everyone, but investment is for everyone. You do not need to learn so much to invest in Bitcoin. You have been on this platform for a long time, so why are you not paying attention to investment?

Trust your gut.. If you find something your really believe in or really think is cool give it a shot..
Chances are if you get that effect from it others will too..  for hodling or banking your profits..

For trading-
Assuming my crypto career is not unusual, you shoot 1000 shots in crypto trying this and trying that and eventually a few of them is going to hit..

Don't be afraid to take $1mm combined trade losses.. As long as you win 10% more trades than you loose, your up 100k..
You cant win em all but winning just barely more than you loose is success..

If you can put as much effort into collecting Satoshis trading an exchange as most people do points in some video game you actually have something to show for it..

It sounds like you have the drive and ambition and thats what's really important.. I dont know what kind of trades you are trying to win exactly but find a small edge and do it a LOT and let the law of large numbers do its thing..

I would never say that I wasted a lot of my life trying to understand something that may never work out as I wish, but I would say maybe you chose the hard way or the wrong way.

Instead of spending all this time learning about trading, understanding its signals, building tools, analysis, etc., if you had just held Bitcoin for the long term, I am confident that you would have earned much more from trading and you would have wasted your time learning other, more useful things.

Then stop what you are doing, why not just buy and hold?

simple strategy but working.
This is my way of investing and I don't feel stress, you know, I'm living a "normal" life, I can eat and sleep at the right time.

Yes, it will be worth it in the end.

But what type of trading are your referring to? If it is day trading and you are not making money from it, it is better you just quit. It is stressful and not something people should waste their time on if they are not making money.

If it is just about buying, DCA and other kind of bitcoin investment, just continue, you will not regret it.

Basically, if you choose to become a trader, you must be able to bear the consequences, even if you're trading in Bitcoin. Trading is clearly complicated and very different from investing. So, if you choose to become a trader, prepare yourself mentally, because it's not easy. Therefore, if you can't do that, it's better to invest in Bitcoin for the long term. It's less tiring, as you simply need to buy Bitcoin and hold it.

So, you simply choose your path. The point is,, don't rely solely on the success of others to determine your path. Everyone has their own path. Therefore,, choose the path that feels safest to you. After all, you're the one who will ultimately lead the way, not others. So, if you enjoy trading, pursue it diligently. But if you feel like trading isn't working for you, just leave it. The decision is that simple.

Never give up, that is my suggestion. You never know in how many experiences you will succeed and worth it in the end. It is normal if we feel tired after doing many times but not get what we want. But that doesn't mean we quit and end everything. Quitting for a while is necessary to refresh our minds and get more ideas to step forward but don't give up.

I am sure what we did will worth it in the end. If we don't achieved what we want, who knows that will works for our kids and they continue what we did. Don't feel what you did is not worth because you never know if that pay off someday.

But if you tired trading, you can moves into investor which only buy and hodl. You will not feels too stress as before because you only follow your DCA plan and not analyze the market too deep.

I’m not a fan of trading, I don’t even know how this trading you’re talking about really works, since you have been trading and you’ve not been successful, I will personally advice you to start buying and holding bitcoin for the long term instead of buying and trading, you can be buying through the DCA on a consistent basis and that would give you an opportunity of having enough bitcoin in your portfolio, and you will not be loosing money anymore, why not try to buy and hold bitcoin for the longest term period.

For those who've spent years trading or building things in crypto: have you ever wondered whether all the time you've invested will be worth it in the end?
This is one of the reasons why I prefer to stay away from trading and focus more on investing even though the instrument is the same (bitcoin) I have been in a situation where I have to think about whether I should focus on trading or investing because I only see the ambition to profit that can be obtained (people who trade) but after seeing my condition and how trading works I realized that this was not suitable for me.

At the moment I have never touched trading again and it happened after I felt how trading has a greater impact in terms of mental and money (for me) so I prefer to invest in bitcoin rather than just being tempted to trade.
I personally didn't forbid anyone to trade but if it feels detrimental then my advice is to stop it because it imposes even on the pretext of learning when the results are not satisfied it will only make us feel more down and actually feel cheated.

You've killed the fun, there is no looking back when I am enjoying what I am doing, I've never looked back and feel like I am wasting my time because this is where I want to be, nowhere else is calling out to me.

If you are right at where you are supposed to be there won't be any need of feeling regrets, time and energy on trading always worth it in the end and here is a tip for you, if everyone is doing it then it's easy and not going to make money.

Always choose the hardest part, trading is one of them and it's why many people give up on it,  if it's easy many people will be doing it, what you should be looking for is the right tool, it will safe you a lot of time.

People who have experience in trading in any market actually know how hard and challenging trading is. With their own experience, they do know that with such challenges, most traders have losses while profit is for the very minority of traders.

With Bitcoin, people would feel very attractive and easy in getting profit if they look at these sites for Bitcoin ROIs.

Trading is harder to succeed than investing which only requires people to understand about Bitcoin fundamentals, realize its potential, believe in its future, to spend money, buy bitcoin, hold it, storage it safely. Time will bring profit and they only need to do these things which are not all easy but much more comfortable than trading.

For those who've spent years trading or building things in crypto: have you ever wondered whether all the time you've invested will be worth it in the end?
That's the goal actually. You won't be doing all of these from scratch if you have no faith in crypto and trust in yourself. The fact that until now you're still trading, mining or DCAing, that reflect that in the end you will come to reap what you sow, and everything will be worth it at the end of the day.

However, crypto or bitcoin trading is really expensive and highly risky. And the more you trade in the market, the bigger losses you will possibly acquire. But  that's nothing compared to the massive profits you will gain from endless trading, DCAing and mining despite how risky the market is.

I've spent a huge amount of time on crypto trading and development over the years. Countless hours experimenting with ideas, building tools, testing approaches, making mistakes, and starting over.

If you say that you have a wonderful life today, I would try to do the same. But I feel like you are stressed, aren't you?

I know many of us want to trade, but we have to think about this first and ask ourselves if we can endure the stress. Why is this turn like this? Just imagine trading in an unpredictable market, and no matter what strategy you use to think, it won't work smoothly. That is why many have tried, and many of them let it go.

Trading suits few people, not everyone. But of course, only we know when we try.
