The winner will be in a strong position to pursue an undisputed championship, as Ryan Garcia and Teofimo Lopez are also reportedly in talks for a unification clash. The victor of that matchup is expected to face either Haney or Paro, potentially setting the stage for all four welterweight world titles to be unified.

This is the best part of it, a potential Haney - Garcia match, I expect Haney to have a strong showing here, as this is going to be a big - tune fight for a possible rematch against Ryan.
I expect Haney to easily hurdle this match, but I'm not convinced that Ryan can easily do that to Teofimo, so it's exciting year ender news for boxing fans and a good prospect fight in the coming year.
The Welterweight is one of the best divisions in boxing.

Yeah, that is what i also expecting, a potential rematch between Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney but this time for the unified belts. Devin Haney is avoiding Ryan Garcia as long as he can but should Ryan Garcia defeat Teofimo Lopez then Haney could no longer have any excuses but to face Garcia and prove that what Garcia did to him in their first fight was a fluke.

Not sure if Haney though is avoiding Garcia, maybe he just wanted to have a bargaining chip when they fight and so he needs more belt in his weight to shove to Ryan's face once they decided to go for a rematch.

For this match i don't think that Haney will have any problem disposing Liam Paro due to experience factor. Haney has been fighting popular fighters and he won every time when i least expected especially that fight against Lomachenko but again this would be a run and gun style of fight for Haney as he always do.

True, experience wise, Haney has the advantage here. And this could be a perfect tune up fight for him against Garcia in the future. If Paro can land on Haney's chin and didn't do any damage then perhaps Haney might have a blue print on Garcia's power left hook. So let's see how this fight goes and everyone is speculating that Haney should win this fight.

I don't feel what Ryan Garcia did to Devin Haney in the 1st fight was a fluke, as in lucky.  If anything, I would attribute it to the weight difference as Garcia was over the limit and the fact Garcia was taking a performance enhancing drug- a SARM call Ostarine now called Enobosarm, which is prohibited by WADA.  Ryan Garcia handed Devin Haney his ass in that fight, but one could argue that it would have went differently if he made weight and wasn't juiced up.

I really think this Haney vs Paro fight will go the distance but could go either way.  Don't be surprised if there is a controversial decision.

The Welterweight is one of the best divisions in boxing.
Yes, it should be the best division, although we can argue about the heavyweight division as well. But if we go back to the history of boxing, welterweight could be the true king of boxing. This definitely should be a Haney win just because we wanted a rematch between Ryan and Devin.

It has been in works if I'm not mistaken, until Ryan was upset by Rolly Romero so they have to adjust their time table. So it's Devin's side to make the bargain here, if he wins then for sure they might go and fight during the Mexican Cinco de Mayo holiday as this is going to be a big rematch.

I'm not sure about this, but Shakur said that he want all the smoke and then wanted to fight for a catch up against Haney, lol. But at least Haney is done with Shakur and it's good that they have settled down for a unification fight with Paro.

It would be nice if Haney and Shakur would fight but maybe promoters have realized that it would result in a boring fight. 2 runners in one ring, the fight will end without either of them getting hurt, so this one is better although based on their skills Paro is not at Haney's level but I love Australian boxers because they are aggressive, hopefully he can catch Haney and put him on the canvas and maybe win the fight.

Probably, but if ever this two fight, I'm expecting Haney to be the aggressor in this fight. Shakur said that he wanted to fight the champion but then have a lot of terms that he wanted so it's hard to make that fight with him.

So yes, this might be a blessing for Paro obviously as he will be the one facing Haney. But then, if we look at the odds and the poll here amongst boxing fans, it looks like majority of us are going to favor Haney to win this fight.

From the looks of it their whole career they have the same weakness,,, but you cannot learn and improve everything right? In football team sports you keep adjusting when people find your weakness. Boxing the same?

Agreed, adjustment happen in boxing too. However this will not align with football. Oponent can exploit any boxer's weakness. But it is not possible to fix all technical problem in the middle of fight. In training camp, one can work on footwork, defensive reaction, distance management and counterpunching. But executing those thing under pressure on fight night is extremely tough.

In Haney vs Paro, what I am looking to see is whether Haney will just retreat and focus on defense? Or will he create angle by controlling Paro's lead hand? And will Paro go straight for chase or will he be able to cut off the ring and trap Haney near ropes?

Thanks for the explanations. In football it can be more complex,,, it is changing the mindset and stance of 11 players + subs, rather than 1 person alone. So in a way, sports like boxing seems way more possible for me to improve on specific areas, but I always remember my PE teacher talk about a peak, and that to improve to 81% from 80% takes 100 times more time than from 79% to 80%, and this is why we must invest our time in putting everything at 80% and not 1 thing at 85% while ignoring 10 other things.

I don't even consider this a blessing; it's more of a big challenge for him, but Paro is not new to this kind of challenge. I remember him being a 7-1 underdog against Subriel Matias but made a huge upset by winning a unanimous decision in front  of Subriel's countryman; it was considered a huge feat for Liam.

But in this fight, I highly doubt he will win via decision against a highly technical Haney. Subriel suffered an upset becaus he is not a technical fighter; he is more of a pressure fighter.

This is the current result of the poll; so far, no one voted for Paro. This is how dominant Haney is going into this fight.

It's a blessing because he will have another opportunity to make pull an upset again and somewhat derail the plans of Turki to have Devin fighting Ryan for a rematch. So imagine how big it's going to be if he will bet Haney again and make it 2 upset win.

But yeah, I guess it's a very different kind of fight for Paro as he is facing a good defensive fighter and not like Subriel Matias who just rely on his power only.

Here, Haney has a good boxing IQ and can adjust if Paro seems to be winning the fight early.

My prediction Haney by UD, that's it.

That is the easiest one as Haney's KO rate is very low.

33 wins but 15 KO only, while Liam Paro is a bit higher but still not a KO artist.

And judging from the last fights of Liam Paro, I don't see some quality boxers on the opponents, so it's like a dream come true for him to fight Haney as this means a bigger purse, but his chance of winning is quite the opposite of the purse size.  Smiley
Paro has always been fighting bums, but Boogeyman should be excepted. The problem his fight against boogeyman already more than two years ago while he's always fought bad boxers since then. I think it's quite smart to go for Haney.

Honestly, i was expecting him to get a better boxer to fight, but beating Paro is not that bad as well as waiting for Boots or Garcia available, but at least fighting Paro is quite better than Kambosos.

who do you think will win?
 Devin Haney
 Liam Paro
 draw
Although the match between Devin Haney vs. Liam Paro has never competed in a boxing ring, but I have watched both of them in the ring with different boxing opponents.

If I assess and look at the opportunities and advantages of both, I believe that Devin Haney in my eyes is significantly superior to Liam Paro, Even though people often say that Liam Paro's style is a left-handed boxer and many boxing fans think his punches are dangerous, Haney is even more dangerous, he is a tactical boxer who can be said to be very agile.

I am optimistic by looking at Haney's boxing style and experience, Haney's betting style is enough to open up boxing opponents who are considered to have a disciplined jab, I see Haney as very controlled and experienced.

Paro surely did make a massive gain cash-wise and a title shot against Haney despite the weaker opponents he has fought against lately, and he shouldn't be underestimated in any way because he even proved that against Subriel.
Haney might not break a sweat here because he is more concerned about the unification of titles this fight would occasion as he waits for a tougher opponent in the person of Jaron Ennis.
One thing is for sure though, irrespective of the winner, the goal for both parties is being an undisputed champion and this fight brings them closer to achieving that.

The thing i can tell you that Subriel is nothing compared to the Ryan Garcia who fought against Haney with very high intensity in the last game. T

he previous opponent often gave us insight about the quality of the boxer. In this case, Haney is far higher because he gave an intense fight to Garcia. You can't compare it when Paro faced Subriel.

I also used this to pick bets in the previous games, and it's always working. So haney will win this game with ease if he show same intensity when he fought Garcia.

For me, this is a highly anticipated fight unlike the bouts involving Jake Paul! What makes it so interesting is that both fighters have incredible records; Haney, in particular, is undefeated and seems to sweep everyone aside who stands in his path. Furthermore, both have a high knockout percentage, so a stoppage is definitely a possibility though, at this moment, I couldn’t say for sure which of them is more likely to deliver it. The winner will unify two championship belts, an achievement that commands universal respect. Even though the Australian has a loss on his record, I wouldn’t read too much into that Haney can’t afford to relax for even a single second.

Thanks for the explanations. In football it can be more complex,,, it is changing the mindset and stance of 11 players + subs, rather than 1 person alone. So in a way, sports like boxing seems way more possible for me to improve on specific areas.
In football you are not improving the players individually, you are improving them as a team. You talk to them as a group. All the efforts are made at once, it’s not really that complex. Truth is that it is more convenient to work with a smaller group, but just like @Iranus pointed out, during a match the ability of that one boxer remembering everything under a tensed environment is slim.

But in football, if a player is making a mistake, the next player will call him back in order immediately.
So in football the 11 players might have different mindset, but their objective is one, which is following what the coach said.

As they are chasing one objective, it becomes more easier to achieve the result they want. In boxing if you can’t figure out everything you learnt in training under pressure, you are bound to make costly mistakes.

This will be an interesting fight, but Devin Haney is undoubtedly the favorite. As for Liam Paro, nicknamed "The Prodigy," he faces a tough fight against one of the most decorated fighters in the division. Devin Haney has won almost all of his 33 fights, except for one in which his opponent missed weight and won by technical decision. Nevertheless, this shows he is disciplined and knows how to manage his chances. Technically, Devin Haney will likely control the distance, use his feet, and develop his technique, while Liam Paro could create difficulties for his opponent due to his southpaw, which could neutralize some of Devin Haney's techniques.

Yes, as far as boxing technicals and know how, Devin Haney is ahead as he has face a lot of champions along the way. He is decorated as he won many belts, but I wouldn't say that he is one of the most decorated though. The thing with Devin is that his chin is suspected that's why Liam Paro has a small chance to win if he landed a good one.

But if Haney will uses his boxing here and try to avoid the power punches of Paro, he could won this fight easy albeit could be boring for fans that wanted to see more action like Manny Pacquiao's fight.

I have Devin Haney winning here 95% since Liam Paro is not like Ryan Garcia, i mean his knockout ratio is low that the chance of an upset is close to none. If only Paro has that power that warrants the respect of Haney, there could be a chance but in this fight Haney would only stick to his run and gun style of game and he would get that victory. The thing with Haney is that he is not an exciting fighter and many of us boxing fans wants him to lose but it will not happen this time around in my opinion.
