Rafinha NO - this is a guaranteed result and the entry price is determined only by the annual return that suits you. No matter how good Rafinha is, Barcelona will throw him into the hole for Yamal.

Olise, Haaland are worth considering for a 10x return, they are fantastic, and should they suddenly capture the public's attention, their value could increase significantly.

I agree with you and while I think there is a high chance for Mbappé to be the next winner, you have some significant opportunity cost as you need to tie your money for this for so long. It's money you can't put elsewhere and if you take that into account, I don't know whether the lack in price discovery offers an additional "insurance".

If you are fully ok with having your money tied for a relatively long time, which I think you are, it makes sense as price discovery is off, but it is still a bet because you have less time to take into account unforeseen events like a long term injury.

Olise and Haaland give 10x? Ok that's a lot. You could go for both and it would still make sense. But if Mbappe does not get injured, a lot will be about how far Real Madrid makes it in the UCL. If they are out in the round of 16, and the new mode makes this possible, I think he wouldn't have a chance.

The betting market is already there as per the Polymarket link, so I don't think it is too harsh to criticize that the thread is this early

Right now it is all gambling. We can see Lamine Yamal with the biggest odds at 27% but such a low volume of just $2,132 that this is useless

When the next season gets heat and we start to see the volume in the amounts of $1m or more then we can start to discuss it

Does it mean that one's performance at a major competition is an important criteria that is checked when choosing who will win the Ballon d'Or? I'm asking based on what you said. Anyway, PSG started very well in the Champions League, though they didn't had a good start in their domestic league but they have managed to get back on track so yeah, they can still emerge the best team in next Ballon d'Or awards. Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappe will of course become long term rivals for the Ballon d'Or so I don't dispute them being capable of winning the award. I don't really know what's going on with Mbappé's team because he is working very hard as an individual player but his team is not really complimenting his efforts which would have stand him out among other nominees for the honorary award.

OP i voted for Michael Olise because I like his style of play and he is a promising player with lots of talents that can last for long and besides, Bayern Munich still stand a chance of winning the Bundesliga and also a strong competitor for the UCL title so Michael Olise has a lot to achieve as an individual and his team also have the potentials to help him achieve his dream.

Currently I don't think there is any player that is better than Raphinha in Barcelona but just like you said, the presence of Lamine Yamal will always overshadow him no matter his performance. He started this season very great, right now it appears Lamine Yamal form has declined a bit but I will say he has grace. However, since Harry Kane have won this year Ballon D'or award I think the two players that will contend with it is Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal and I strongly believe anyone of them will win next year.

What are the current liquidity levels for these markets? How much could you invest without making yourself the price explode as of today?

Haaland is a strange case because he actually has a strong public following, but for a reason he isn't seen as first by so many people. I like about him that he doesn't complain, he makes it no priority and yet outcompetes most of the other players. Mbappe is playing for France, Yamal is playing for Spain, Kane is playing for England and this guy is bringing his own small country to a whole different level. He scored 7 goals in 5 matches and didn't have a penalty, which can make a difference in these lists. I know a goal is a goal, but I still think it's different when one player had two penalties included. It would be a shame if Haaland keeps playing like that and never ends up first at these awards.

When I saw the thread too, I was shocked, I didn't expect it so soon but I guess it would he a long deliberation period with a lot of changed opinion. Like you said, Raphinha is looking to be the top of the pile especially with how he started the season, he low-key looked unstoppable but I don't know how good he really is now after that injury he sustained in Brazil, I just need a match or two to examine and understand If he is going to be the star man next ceremony

Yeah that’s a good example. Kane just won it without a Champions League final on his career, so team trophies clearly aren’t a requirement. Reports say he put up around 73 goals in 65 games, and voters seem to have rewarded that kind of individual output.

What makes it more interesting is that Yamal finished behind him even with Spain winning the World Cup. So the award looks more like “who had the most dominant year” than “who won the biggest trophy”. If it was only about the Champions League, we’d probably be talking about a different winner.

Same logic for the Barca guys. Even without a Champions League run, Yamal can still be in the race, he’s just 19. Raphinha’s case depends on whether he keeps up the numbers all season, but if he stays that consistent he’s got a real shot at being the best La Liga option. Though a Kane-level season is a tough bar to beat.

Exactly this mostly what will happen next year, we have seen that since both Messi and Ronaldo are actually out of the lights the Golden ball is now usually rotated and this time around any team that does better in the champions league and plus the player adding an individual brilliance like Mbappe top scoring charts in all competitions it will most definitely be down to him winning trophy if Mbappe can replicate this same form and adds a trophy he stands a better chance. As for Yamal yes PR will help him but he needs to start adding goals to his games and most importantly influence big games if not he wouldn’t be looked at seriously.

Another big player under the radar is Erling Haaland I do think that the English football PR isn’t helpful to him like the other contenders but he is also a favorite to me
