If you check the data of deposits let say from January to December 2026 you see that gambling deposit inflows have been from whales who deposits thousands of dollars into the casino, some of the reports we get is that more rich people are beginning to take advantage of online gambling privacy to make a lot of bets must especially now that predictions market make it possible to bet on real life events that can be easily predicted.
Did you say that real life events can easily be predicted, I doubt so because it's about the future and it's difficult to know exactly what happens in future only if you have an insider information about that future event. Since, you said that's easy to predict real life events, can you tell me who will be the next US president.

Some poor people stake more than the rich because you have to calculate how much they stake based on their overall income and the percentage that they use to bet. You will see a poor man gambling with 100% of his income but a rich man cannot do that.
I have to accept your point on that because most poor people risk more, that is why you can see them going to the extent of taking loans to gamble with as if gambling is a business that you have some level of certainty of profit on the good..

Gambling is a game of odds and chances, you can't treat it like work and so putting your 100% income into gambling is definitely a poor actions that only those with low financial intelligence do, although sometimes the average are still considered poor so those average gamblers have funds to deposit that could compete with that of the rich forks.

However, the most important thing is that they're gambling with what they can afford to lose.
You and I know that most poor people are not gambling this way, most depend on gambling to pay their bills, so in that regard the poor often gambles beyond their capacity while the rich gamble for fun because they're already wealthy and don't necessarily see gambling as a means of making a living unlike the poor. In terms of deposit capacity, the rich spends more into the casino, I would go for the poor because a quick study in the lives of poor people suggests that they see gambling as a beacon of hope and tend to spend a large share of their income on the casino trying out their luck.

Most rich people have no time to gamble, they're very busy with responsibilities they only gamble once in a while, but for poor people it is a necessity, so they tend to spend more on the casino than rich people. If you sum together what millions of poor people spend in the casino in a day, it would be more than what the rich spends.

It comes down to total dollars spent vs percentage of income lost. Obviously poor people aren't making $100k deposits, high rollers account for a massive chunk of casino volume. But the reason people talk about lower income groups gambling "more" is because of the damage it does relative to what they have. Losing $200 when you only have $500 to your name hurts much more than a rich guy losing $50k out of a $5M bankroll. The rich drop bigger numbers but the poor risk a much higher percentage of their actual livelihood.

There are far fewer rich people than poor people, so there are fewer gamblers among them as well. Of course, a wealthy person can afford to deposit $50,000 or $100,000 into a casino, but that doesn't mean they gamble more often than others. Rich people may deposit larger amounts, but that alone doesn't prove they gamble more frequently than people with lower incomes.

I can only agree that the poor are more in numbers as gamblers but the rich are the ones spending more money in gambling.
And everyone is a target market of the casinos. They know that once they get hooked with their games, they'll spend more money regardless of their financial capacity.

I think this was discussed many times before in the past and, having these thoughts of which one spends more is unwanting.

Because in the perspective of the casino, they prefer the whales as we call but more numbers is also desirable from the poor as it speaks volume still.

Do you think the majority of rich people earn their money from gambling? They are into businesses they do and only take from the profit they realize to gamble and have fun.

The poor will always want to seize an opportunity from gambling. I will, by all means, afford to gamble and keep attempting for that opportunity to come to win Big, but it will always appear in reality that this is just like a wish that may not come true except by luck and not by how hard they keep trying.

People are always saying that the poor people are the ones gambling more than the rich people, now my question is those who are depositing $50k to $100k on casinos are they poor people, because I’m sure poor people won’t have huge amount of money to deposit in a casino.
So it’s the rich people that always deposit huge amount of money on a casino and not the poor and this means the rich are the ones gambling more than the poor.

I can only agree that the poor are more in numbers as gamblers but the rich are the ones spending more money in gambling.
When people say the poor are the ones who gamble the more on a casino, i think what they meant is the cumulative amout used in gambling over time. Because just as a very rich and wealthy individual can just open a casino account today, deposit $10,000, gamble and if he or she loses, he might just forget about gambling for a while. Whne it comes to those poor people, they can deposit $50 weekly for trying their luck with gambling. And if you are to sum up the $50 weekly in a year ($50 x 52 = $2,600). And $2,600 in 5years would have given you $13,000. So in conclusion, it simply means that in 5years time, the poor man who keep gambling $50 weeky would have gambled more than the rich man who just gambled once. Because one thing you must understand is that a truly rich man don't gamble for money. They gamble for the fun of it.

You're calculating it one way, but I think that's the wrong way to look at it:
One rich guy can spend more than 1,000 poor people put together. He spends 1% of his money; a poor person spends 50% of theirs. So who's actually spending more?
How many more poor people are there than rich people? If it's about 2,000 to one and one rich person spends like 1,000 poor people, who ends up spending more?

Here's the thing, the population of rich gamblers are less than poor and average gamblers, you forgot to mention the fact that there are people in the middle class. $50k to $100k are amounts of money that people in the middle class can stake but the amounts below that are staked more frequently than these amounts. The reason for that poor gamblers use the little they have to chase wins desperately.

Quote
So it’s the rich people that always deposit huge amount of money on a casino and not the poor and this means the rich are the ones gambling more than the poor.
In some cases the huge amounts being deposited are not always made by rich people, some poor people also use amounts they cannot afford to lose once in a while because they want to take big risks to get huge rewards.

Quote
I can only agree that the poor are more in numbers as gamblers but the rich are the ones spending more money in gambling.
The rich gamblers spend more money there is no doubt about that but you need to understand that the casinos business also needs the poor as well because if you calculate the total amount of money poor gamblers lose in total on a daily basis it's actually a lot of money.

If we are talking about the number of dollars of course it would be the rich people who can spend more on casino, they are typically the high rollers of the casinos. Though if we talk about their spending on casino based on the income, I think it is the poor people who spend more based on their capacity. They spend much less in terms of dollars compared to rich people but poor people are mostly the one who spends more than what they can afford to lose.

Usually poor people has a problem with financial education and can't budget their money well, this is why gambling is becoming a problem on poorer countries since poor people becomes more poorer because they keep chasing quick money without realizing they can't afford to lose the money they are wagering.

1000$ might be a chump change for the rich high rollers of the casino but for the poor people, they can treat it as a jackpot if they won that kind of amount on a casino.

That's the truth about the entire discussion. The rich have enough money to gamble with, they can use any amount even above $100k if they have in a particular game, some of the do it for fame while some do it for quick profit. They are usually not greedy, they take small odds and multipliers because if you stake high, you make your money back quick and get profit that some gamblers who use less then $100 wouldn't make even if they have been gambling for their entire life unless if they hit a jackpot which is very rear.

We use what we have to gamble, but the poor always looks desperate to make money, they try to accumulate odds at once before betting so that they can make huge amount of money that rich gamblers can make with just one bet, that is the rich took less risk than the poor because they can use small odd to make profit, while the poor will have to accumulate more odds before they can make good profit in gambling.

Thousands of dollars spent by the rich in the VIP rooms of casinos could be just one or two percent of all the money they have. However when the average players gambles away half of his earnings for the month on the slots or sports betting, the amount of money is less important than the consequences.  It is the small but constant investments made by thousands of common people that keep the casinos alive and not just the few affluent individuals.

It might interest you to know that who you consider to be rich might be poor in the eyes of the next person. $50k may actually be a big amount, and we might see a person with that fund or amount as Rich person but to some people they are poor. We can only measure this amount with the next person personality. For me at my level a person who fund $50k -$100k to gamble is a rich man. But might be a poor person to a person who is billion dolla Richer. Because $50k might just be a peunot to him so it differs

I believe that you have already answered the question you ask because with the large majority of the poor, the money they all deposited will be by far greater than those of the rich guys that are not much in numbers.

The rich knows that gambling is not the best way to make money, so it is only few that gambles, but the poor believe that by gambling consistently, they might hit a jackpot one day, so majority of them gamble a lot, that is why casino business, or any gambling business flourish in poor neighborhood.

So the poor people are the ones that spend the most in gambling collectively, but if am talking about individually, then it is the rich.

Well who spends more on gambling between the rich and poor just depends on their individual level of addiction, any addicted gambler will definitely spend all his money on gambling, what that means is that if the bettor is rich and addicted he will end up using huge sums to bet and in no distant time he will become bankrupt, an addicted poor man too will always bet the little money he has on gambling.

Though by statistics rich people spends more than poor people on gambling in a long run, their one time gambling deposit/loses is far higher to that of a poor man who might need to play much number of times before he can equate same amount.

Rich people also gamble just as much as poor people do too and they even spend more in gambling because obviously they can afford it and they mostly gamble for fun so there's a huge difference between the rich and the poor in gambling. Rich people gamble but they don't show it or even display it in public so they gamble privately and they don't gamble as often as the poor too but when they do there deposits are usually huge amount unlike the poor so I'd say that the rich spends more money on casinos while the poor spends more time.

~

I can't comprehend mindset of people who gambld in order to pay the bills. Maybe it is closer to truth that some addicted people use money wich should be used to pay the bills to gamble more.

As for question who gambles more rich or poor, I don't think it depends on wealth status. In my opinion it is more about psychological characteristics, as some people naturally more attracted to gambling.

I can only agree that the poor are more in numbers as gamblers but the rich are the ones spending more money in gambling.

The thing is, there are no actual stats to back the claim that either poor or rich people gamble more, but it is more logical to say that rich gamblers actually stake far more than poor gamblers due to the difference in resources/finances... at least, I don't think we need a statistics to prove that. But personally for me, I've always admire how rich people gamble... they often do it in style, and I think poor doesn't necessarily have to waste the little they have if we're to stick with what being poor means. Gambling is naturally for everyone, but when it begins to drain a person's finance, especially those who're already struggling to meet their end needs, it's becomes a problem.

People are always saying that the poor people are the ones gambling more than the rich people, now my question is those who are depositing $50k to $100k on casinos are they poor people, because I’m sure poor people won’t have huge amount of money to deposit in a casino.

Where did you get to learn about that?
Related discussions about the rich and the poor being involved in gambling was about their ambitions whereas, some people says the poor gambles more for profits while the rich gambles for fun.
I don't even want to start a debate there about.

Over the topic of the day, anyone saying gambling is a game for poor all just to make profit is lying, it's really more of the entertainment's while profits may be incentive for those that may be lucky.
You see how risky is the journey? Everyone is only expected to stake what they can afford to loose.
Some everyone surely have minimum and maximum risks tolerance.
Those who exceeds their affordability are exposed to higher risks ot lost.
No amount of money is too small and non is too big.

So it’s the rich people that always deposit huge amount of money on a casino and not the poor and this means the rich are the ones gambling more than the poor.

Yes, of course the rich spend more on gambling than the poor, because when we see on various social media that some people have spent up to millions of dollars on gambling, then undoubtedly all these people are identified as rich because if a poor person has a target dollar, he can never be declared poor, he will definitely fall into the list of rich. For a poor person, losing 500 to 1000 dollars is a very large amount. The poor can actually gamble more because they have very little money and they always spend less, but the rich have more money and they always spend more money on gambling platforms.
