There is a lovely quote by Douglas Adams that I admire; well, all of his quotes are amazing, of course, but on this topic he has written, "This planet has - or rather had - a problem, which was this: most of the people living on it were unhappy for pretty much of the time.
Many solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were largely concerned with the movement of small green pieces of paper, which was odd because on the whole it wasn't the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy." That is literally what this is about. This whole topic, summarised into one sentence. I think it is clear that it is not the individual who puts that much importance on money, but the whole, the entire population, so if you stopped caring about it, you would starve and be homeless, so you are forced to care, but the reality is, it's all made up; we do not HAVE TO care.

Having money is good, it brings a differently compared with those that don’t have money. But I think there’s no difference between those the people that have money and lock it away in the bank, and those that don’t have money. A money lock away in a safe, without plans of making use of it, is of no value to you. Those that spend the little they earned on things they need are actually the ones deriving the value of money. It is better you don’t have money than have money don’t use, that are sitting idle in the bank for years without being used.
What is your take on this?
I feel there should be a balance when it comes to things like this. Firstly, in as much as I’m not a fan of leaving money in the bank without investing or using it for a long period of time. I still won’t support spending the little you earn on things you need in the name of deriving this value of money. My reason for saying this is, you may never have money if you keep spending the little you have always, and don’t save or have reserve for investment. In my opinion, “The value of money is knowing how to use it to make more money” spending is a by product of having the money, and shouldn't be the main focus.

Ah, yes. I know of some people who prefer to keep accumulating money at a bank, and never spend it. Such a foolish idea. Because one way or another, the money will lose value. If you die without heirs, that money will be confiscated by the government. If you're alive, your money will still lose value (purchasing power) because of inflation. Fiat (money) is designed to be spent on a daily basis. If you just want to hoard and build value (wealth), you're better off buying and holding Bitcoin (or Gold) for the long run. Set aside a portion of your money to invest into scarce assets, while leaving the rest for necessities. Enjoy your money as much as you can, while you're still alive.

Sure, we use money to get more money, because keeping money without investing it and just spending, there won't be much money remaining with you when you're just focusing on spending and not planning to do the needful. People that know the value of money are those that work for it with their hard work, because when you get money in an easy way, you won't see the value of it like others that are struggling to get it. They will plan well and buy the meaningful things they need. When you're getting money, you should have two plans for it. you invest and save, and that will surely help you in the future.

Locking money away just as savings could mean different things which include lack of knowledge to utilise it for the purpose it was created because if you have the knowledge to utilise money I'm sure you will.
Also consider that money saved in the bank accrues some interest over time with respect to the amount being kept in the bank.
Having money and choosing not to spend it for certain reasons is entirely an individual's preference, the person can choose to do with it whatever is desired. Keeping money is like spending money, it's a choice and whatever you buy, you keep too!

What is your take on this?
Yes, your requirement is indeed "The value of money lies in how it is spent" that is certainly in general maybe we can understand the value of money depending on how the money is used, We all understand that money is only a medium of exchange, nothing more, its value becomes real when someone uses and spends it to become something valuable for human life. When someone has spent money, the impact of the value of the money itself emerges, such as buying consumer goods, buying household appliances, traveling and so on, after someone gets a portion, they only feel the value of the money itself.

Of course money should work for you, but different things happen in life, and circumstances can change. In any case, I would say it's better to have money set aside as a financial reserve or emergency fund than to have nothing at all. When an unexpected situation arises and you need that money, you'll really feel its absence. On the other hand, you're talking about people who spend everything straight away and enjoy the benefits immediately. You can spend your money on a new phone, going out to cafes, buying coffee three times a day, cigarettes, alcohol, and so on. I have acquaintances like that too, by the end of the month, they have nothing left. But what kind of future will they have if they continue living this way...

Asides from emergency purposes I don't think money should stay dormant in a bank account having no use because having money is an asset, this is supposed to be a means to create wealth especially if it is a large amount of money, this is better than just keeping it in your bank account having no use. Having money and choosing not to spend it for certain reasons is entirely an individual's preference, the person can choose to do with it whatever is desired. Keeping money is like spending money, it's a choice and whatever you buy, you keep too!
Spending and keeping money have nothing in common, keeping money for a specific period of time most especially if it's for a long period of time is dangerous because if this is not an investment the money you have reduces in value due to the inflation. Investing would always be better than spending without replacing and keeping with no use.

What's the point of having money if you only get to spend it and end up being broke? The real value of money is actually what it can create for you either in a long term or for a short period of time, it all depends on what your investment plan is like and what you are actually investing in. The reason why people end up poor even though they were once rich is due to the fact that they don't actually invest.
Hoarding money adds no value to it and spending without having something going on that can multiply or create a source of income with the money you have means that you are preparing yourself for a future where you are going to end up being poor but this can be avoided. Money is basically used to make more money but you need to know what you are investing in.

Truly money doesn't have any value when it's kept in your account, pocket and save boxes and there's no plans to invest it or anything the value of money is how you spend it and what you use it for some people will have money and spend it on things that will impress others and things that wont give or bring benefits while others will use it for things that are very important.

Those who have enough money and save their money with the aim of creating a big wealth by thinking about the future. There are many people who lock their money and keep it in the bank only so that they can improve financially in the future, and also so that they can use it for their needs and solve national problems if they face any problems. But when a normal poor person wants to save, it becomes difficult for him because his money runs out to meet the needs of his family. Moreover, after working hard enough, later it is seen that when he buys necessary things, his money runs out but he does not have any money to save. That is why poor people cannot keep their money in the bank and lock it, when a person does not have money, he goes through the most hopeless time of his life. However, those who keep money in the bank can save and buy necessary things by thinking about their future, but there are many who do not make such plans and have to face financial problems.

Wealth is what you cant see. Rich people might life a very simple life Every dollar you can and invest wisely will work for you, multiplying itself. Ofc you need to spend it eventually, dying with money is just stupid. There are people who get used to keeping money and not spending it because they were depressed for not having money and they went on heavily on making that money and once they start to make money to spend it becomes harder for them. I have uncle who is just like I have described right now, the day he died under his bed is full of fiats wrapped in clean nylon, new notes, he never thought he would died and yet he always don't like spending. Anything than reading news papers and eating count him out, this is why I believe in a warning that we should becareful with what we get used to, because you might not be the one in control.

Yes it is individual's preference but i still don't support that because it will continue to lose value even though you did not do anything with it. You can decide to save for a specific reason which is quite understandable, but saving it without any plan or for a very long time it's like a destruction to what you have said because the value of it will be depreciating. There are currency that worth savings but saving in our local currency is not something I can advise, because the way our currency is devalue every time is not worth saying. Instead of saving money is better way invest the money so that it will keep appreciating.

Well I will like to bring up the fact that how everyone sees the value of money is different, and the general way everyone sees it is as a medium of exchange that offers utility to the users and also as a store of value. So for that, I don't think people who still save money in the bank have no use of it ,there will always be something you want to use that money to do, if not now, but later in the future. Best to say the purpose of investment is to make more money, the purpose of savings is to manage money and reduce spending in case of future expenses. And don't forget we still have things like budgeting and also emergency funds. All of these are immediate ways to set aside funds that you need, not want. So if you want to spend on things you want, then there will certainly be a separate fund for that. That's all.......

Money not invested is like a money subjected to slavery. Money is designed to yield more money if properly invested. This in-turn means if the money is kept in our account it becomes a liability and not an asset. A liability in the sense that if it will only be available for spending when the need for the money arises and it will not add any value but rather solve the immediate problem without yielding profit of bringing forth more money.

What is your take on this?
The reason why people save money and deposit it in the bank is because they want financial security. They think that they are getting an opportunity to earn income now but if their source of income suddenly stops then how will they fulfill their financial needs and for this reason they keep some money in the bank without using it for security purpose. However, due to the high rate of inflation, if you keep money in the bank for a long time, its value decreases. In this case, instead of spending money and keeping money in the bank, it is better to invest that money somewhere from where a good amount of profit can be generated that can cope with inflation. Then they will get the financial security they need and will be able to cope with inflation at the same time.

So you mean people should spend every penny they have not save up for emergency ? I really don't think so. I do get your point though, people should consider using their money in one way or other but not end up spending all of it. They should have an emergency fund, an investment portfolio, some spare cash in the house and others locked up in fixed deposits, Gold and real estate. That is something I think a best way to manage your financial portfolio in the current ecosystem.

The real value of money is when you can use it to provide the comfortable lifestyle you ever dreamed of and also invest on it to bring more money. You can’t just spend all your money and expect more money to come when you’re not being productive with the money you have/had.That’s why it is often advised on this forum that we as humans shouldn’t save our money in fiat for decades reason is because it won’t appreciate over time,it may not necessarily only be bitcoin investment but they’re other investment that yield more returns over time and it would be best advised you invest on them than only using them to buy all the things you ever needed.

This is true, and I completely agree with you. Some people don't really understand the value of the money they have because they don't struggle to earn it. This makes them mismanage their money and spend unnecessarily. But if they understood how difficult it can be to make money, just like some people do, they will learn how to manage it better rather to just spend money on what won't profit them, especially some young people who don't stress themselves making money nowadays, making them to live a life as if there is no tomorrow.
