This is just a speculation thread anyway, so I'll share my prediction as to why Bitcoin might be over $200,000 not for the month of January only, but for the month of 2029. 2017 bull run. The peak of it was around $19,900. 2021 bull run. The peak was around $69,000. Peak price of 2017 went up around ~346% reaching $69,000. Now bull run of 2025 reached as high as $126,000. Peak price of 2021 went up around ~182% reaching $126,000. Peak of 2017 - peak of 2021 = 346% increase Peak of 2021 - peak of 2025 = 182% increase Peak of 2025 - peak of 2029 = ?? ?? ?? ?? If I'll be basing it off of a pattern, there's a chance that we only might see at around 80-90% increase in it's previous ATH, so in calculation, the ATH might be around $226,800 - $239,400. For me, it's harder to speculate what will be the price of Bitcoin on a single month only, let alone it's 2029 and we're still at 2026. P.S. I did this calculation 10 times already in the past and 11 of them didn't happen at all.

Over $200k without a doubt. With the way things are moving we are going to see more collapse of fiat currencies like the dollar (a more catastrophic repetition of 2008-2009 ie. what led to creation of Bitcoin). Something that will not only devastate economies but it will push people into trying to save their purchasing power. Something that they can do by purchasing safe haven assets like gold and bitcoin. The demand will start going up significantly in the coming years. $200k will be one of the targets we'll smash through

My safe vote is $180k to $200k. The bull market will begin soon if it has not begun yet. The AI sector will recover after a bubble pop similar to the dotcom bubble pop where internet companies also recovered.
I am not quite certain why @philipma1957 is bearish for 2029 hehehehe. Everything might be recovering on that year and also on 2028 unless the Democrats strike back and attack the cryptospace more profusely!

I also voted for over $200k. Yeah, there could be problems with AI or quantum computers in the future. But so far throughout Bitcoin's history we have hurdled everything, specially the pandemic wherein there's a lot of uncertainties.
And yet, we reach a new all time high within schedule and then it still continue the cycle. So everything should also be in schedule for the next bull run. Block halving in 2028 and then a massive run in 2029.

My prediction for BTC price in 2029 will be over $200K, and I have many reasons why I said this.My first reason is adoption. Bitcoin adoption is growing fast around the world with most people, companies, and governments showing interest in it. Second reason is institutional investment . The involvement of major financial institutions could bring more capital into the Bitcoin market. Third is Bitcoin has a limited supply of 21 million coins and as demand continues to grow thats why i strongly believe that Bitcoin will be over $200K by 2029.

This is just a speculation thread anyway, so I'll share my prediction as to why Bitcoin might be over $200,000 not for the month of January only, but for the month of 2029. 2017 bull run. If I'll be basing it off of a pattern, there's a chance that we only might see at around 80-90% increase in it's previous ATH, so in calculation, the ATH might be around $226,800 - $239,400. I did this calculation 10 times already in the past and 11 of them didn't happen at all. I am still looking forward to see Bitcoin above $100,000 before this year ends, if ever it won't, at least we already made the all-time high above of it, so it should be fine, then I'll just wait months before halving. But for me I won't put a exact January 2029 price. If the next cycle after this one still holds, I just expect we are way above where we are now, not a single number.

We still have 2 months left and Bitcoin needs to gain more than 27% at the time I'm typing this, to hit $100k mark. Let's just hope nothing like the Binance hacking incident happens for the remainder of 2026. Anyway, my prediction for Btc on January 2029 is more or less $200k. Since the 4-year cycle is not dead yet, and historically Btc peaks roughly around several months after the halving, so I think $200k is a realistic figure. Btc could even reach more than $200k in the 1st quarter of 2029.

I went bear under 106k much like very early 2017 when price was very low.
Looking at recent trend in the crypto space especially as it involves how vulnerable both our exchanges, hardware wallet and software wallet have become, i am becoming a bit moderate and less ambitious as to the likelihood of bitcoin getting to certain height like we have long speculated it to get to in the past. not saying that $200k is impossible in the next three to four years, but if we get back to the $100k and above point to say $180k, that will be a fantastic thing to see. Seeing bitcoin get to $200k is one thing but it is still another thing to see it get to be adopted by more people and to see that it vulnerability has reduced to a reasonable degree.

I vote Over 200k because the supply decrease, but the demand could increases than now. But that only if no very strict or tight regulation from all government which can reduce the growing of Bitcoin.
If that is happen, the price might stay at $80k-$120k level so we need more time to see Bitcoin jump. Hope the good thing would comes to Bitcoin so we can make a profit later.

There are about 2 years left and we know what can happen in these 2 years because the way time is passing, countries are getting better and better and if there are more wars in the future, the price of Bitcoin can be affected a lot. In my opinion, the price of Bitcoin will go up to $200,000 because there is also a halving during this time, due to which the price will increase or even a little more. It is not very important for the price of Bitcoin to increase because if its every purpose goes upwards, then its purpose of not going down will be lost. Because of this, Bitcoin will sometimes go up and sometimes down and by 2029 we can see this price. It is quite important for Bitcoin to go up to $100,000. If this level is met, it will not be very difficult for the price of Bitcoin to go up to $200,000.

I voted for $180k to $200k.
Bear runs usually last ~1 year, and the current one is probably headed the its end. So a bull run will naturally begin in mid 2027. Bull runs usually last ~3 years, so during early 2029, we might actually be sitting near the top (before or after it).
I think that the top will be near $200k.

Safe bet here is: 180k to 200k.
At least from $126k to this price level is still big for us. Lowest low so far is $57k, so if we reach that price it's going to be at least x3 of that bottom price.
So it's a big possibility that we can hit that easy in 2029 or even for the rest of that year. Although I will say that still very far, but at least we can this kind of speculation that we can go back and see if it is a hit or miss prediction.

Bitcoin has done incredibly well for years, I wouldn't want so much from it going forward. Any price we call now are not real, we are only say what our brains interpreted. Is that fair? That depends on the mindset. Most people want too much from Bitcoin, I don't. I expect it to be above the ATH by then and add some few Ks to it. 140-160k should be fine.

Under $106k. There are some upcoming events that could actually act as a catalyst for price to either go up above the figure I have chosen but if it doesn't work out positively, then I think price will just be within this range. For example, if Fed cuts interest rate more aggressively in the coming months, it could motivate investors to put in more more into the market and that will actually be positive for price, then a sustained purchase through Bitcoin ETF could also create buying pressure, then we also have the US midterm elections and there are other events that could actually cause price to go up above $120k but I am taking a different pick that it might not really be so favourable as I have previously imagined.

I voted over $200k and we that have such opinion are in the majority. It is not that there is certainty in that opinion but looking the past years, Bitcoin doubles between every two halving. The peak of last halving was around $126k, Bitcoin need to double that to exceed $200k by 2029. Someone may be asking about the catalyst for such moves. There are many of them such as more companies establishing their Bitcoin ETFs, which is already happening. Another one is more governments getting involve in buying and holding Bitcoin, for instance, China lifting the ban on Bitcoin. There are so many things that can make this possible.

If you are looking forward for "peaks after" the bitcoin block halving, I'm more convinced months before the Bitcoin block halving = this is proven from past Bitcoin block halvings.

So I see a strong bias towards a new ATH in Jan 2029
2 of us were under 106k and everyone else was 140k or higher.
nice to see the optimism but I am very down at the moment.
14 to 2 see an ATH pretty cool.

I doubt that bitcoin price will be below $106k in 2029 because we are still at $76k and that's because of the hack. So, does it mean that bitcoin will only pump in price to below $106k for two years and two months, I don't think so. The price of bitcoin might not be above $200k because a strong catalyst needs to be there to pump the price above $200k which I don't know if any will pop up. Therefore, I'm going for the price of $140k- $160k.

Many have voted for $200k in the first month of 2029 price prediction. There is strong support for exceeding $200k, especially with the forecast of a global recession. The global dollar is depreciating, and a change in the global economy is imminent. Realizing the possibility of inflation, many are buying Bitcoin and building up holdings unable to trust fiat.
2028 will be the year to accumulate Bitcoin with more attention. We are almost at the end of the year, we are observing a bull market and there is a forecast of another decline before the bull run begins, and I think the prediction of a price decline will probably be correct.
