Something else worth considering, are you getting notifications to your email regarding Bitcoin,
Crypto, exchanges, news feeds and the like?

Do you also get personal information to the same email?

Thats a cause for concern, if your email is hacked your personal information and your interest
in Bitcoin and Crypto leave you open to attack in some form.

My advice is to unsubscribe from everything coming into your email, in case of a hack your
email may not look so interesting when there is no Bitcoin or Crypto related info.
I use different emails for my different purposes.

With work related things, I use my office/company email
If it is for personal things, I use my personal email for it and with this email, I don't use it to register accounts on cryptocurrency exchanges and others.
With Bitcoin and cryptocurrency related things like exchanges, newspapers, I use one or some emails for this purpose.

This practice can help to diversify risk and I won't lose all emails, all sensitive information at one security incident.

~snip~

It's smart to separate private, business, and fun when it comes to emails. I think a lot of people use one or two e-mails at most, and on top of that they have very weak passwords that can be easily brute-forced. If more people took a completely different approach to their internet security, it would be much more difficult for hackers to achieve greater success, and accordingly there would be fewer attacks.

Today it's like setting a table full of food, writing that no one should touch the food on the table, and putting a poodle to guard it all - how can you expect anyone to take that seriously and not accept what's served to them on a silver platter?

Exactly guys!

But I just can't help wondering if those who store their coins on centralised exchanges just
use the single email for all personal correspondence, actually its probably a given that they
do - thats my opinion.

Something else email related is the use of the smartphone which is something I personally
have only considered NOW, i have a number of emails but they all get collected by my smartphone,
one location, if the phone gets compromised, everything goes with it!

Actually, problems like that will also occur naturally. When you have larger assets, you will treat security systems and storage methods more strictly. What you do will indeed correspond to the value of the assets being maintained. But it's not always the case; sometimes people have prepared well from the beginning. The thoughts and prejudices that make you more cautious may also not have much effect.
I used to think that people who owns lot of bitocoin or any asset handles security serious until when the case of some millionaires falling victims of hack and some cheap phishing attack that’s why I begin to doubt that some people who don’t even own millions handles their holding responsibility more carefully than some millionaires, it’s just the mindset and those who also have the knowledge not just by now much that’s being held.

AI and North Korea are going to keep taking the blames even though the incident is something that can be investigated, since it's North Korea everyone will move on immediately without the need to investigate. It's time to consider using Passphrase on your recovery seeds or even consider Multisig.
There is no better solution that I can think about than these.

North Korea do not welcome investigation by other governments if it does not affect their dictatorship hence they would not cooperate with other government because they are the ones that sponsored the hacking. Some time I use to think some of the hacking group used to use the well known styles of hacking by the Lazarus group so people do not bother coming after them after a hack but I got to realized that if you try to impersonate them then you become their target hence they are the ones doing all their hacking and always go free without any punishment. Centralized exchanges are the ones we should not be trusting but I think using non custodial wallets are still very safe to use.

The internet is not safe, but I think Bitcoin and crypto entirely is a new tech that we just started, everyone want to do what other people are doing but not everyone want to do the right thing. If you are holding Bitcoin and you don't take privacy very well, you are risking your self getting hack. The hack might not be immediately but surely one day you will be penetrate and the coin you think it's your life investment will be taken away from you with one click.
You're calling a 16.5+ years project a new tech?  If anyone can't adapt till now, it's better they hold on to what they understand instead. The only thing I can still consider is misinformation, yes some could be misinformed that holding your funds on exchange is the only way to to hold your coins.

Apart from that, there's literally no excuse for not doing what's right. Everything comes with a price, and for Bitcoin, it is the responsibility of being your own bank. If anyone also thinks otherwise, there's no time to convince them.

Well, I think that the refusal to carry out an international investigation is the evidence of the active participation of the mysterious political power in financing the cyber hacking operation Lazarus. Freelance hacker groups are unwilling to use the identity of the official hackers of the country to protect themselves from any danger of mortal consequences. Due to the organization of the regime power, digital balance thefts always remain beyond the reach of international justice. Non custodial independent storage of balances is one of the main factors that contribute to the exclusion of the danger of hacking of the servers of the intermediaries. With the help of security keys, the owners of digital assets gain full control without any interference from the intermediaries who can be attacked from the outside.

This is absolutely true, a lot of things have been going wrong in the past few months. This should be a wake up call to every crypto holder to stop relying on the illusion of security, and start taking proactive steps towards protecting their bitcoins.  In my opinion, I advise you spread your bitcoin investment across three to four different wallets, because diversification doesn’t only apply to investments, it should also apply to how we store and secure assets.

The one truth we all need to realize is that nothing is safe in this world, especially crypto, so we must do our utmost to protect our assets with the highest safety and security standards, starting with complete privacy and ending with storing the seed in a safe way away from the internet.

The crypto community is going through very difficult times due to the frenzied hacking campaigns that have recently accelerated terrifyingly as a result of the development of artificial intelligence and the resulting multiplying capabilities of hackers, but we must not panic and we must not lose hope that there will be a solution that ends this soon.

Exactly guys!
But I just can't help wondering if those who store their coins on centralised exchanges just
use the single email for all personal correspondence, actually its probably a given that they
do - thats my opinion.

Most people will always choose simplicity regardless of the risks, and only a few will take the other (more complicated) path. I personally know a person who uses the same fairly simple password for absolutely everything online, and I'm honestly surprised no one has hacked him yet.

Something else email related is the use of the smartphone which is something I personally
have only considered NOW, i have a number of emails but they all get collected by my smartphone,
one location, if the phone gets compromised, everything goes with it!

Many people have their personal email associated with a Google account when it comes to Android OS. Are you saying you've redirected all your email accounts to that email or do you just use them all on your smartphone?

This is a quick reminder that nothing is truly 100% safe in crypto space

If you have 0.2 BTC
It's not wrong to split them into two separate cold storage, airgapped devices.

Starting to assume that you can get hacked is unfortunately now the beginning of wisdom in this crypto space today.
Don't sit back and feel safe because your crypto wallet isn't touched, yet.

If you have 0.2BTC and decide to split it just as you are afraid of getting hacked, how about people that own more than 5BTC? How many wallets are we expecting them to have?

I don’t think there is need to split them, we can just decide to use a safe mechanism of saving our seed phrase if we can keep the seed phrase safe, it will be better to be reviewing the wallets always by checking any update and maybe verifying the seed phrase from time to time, but using multiple wallet can be another complicated process that can make you lose your Bitcoin at once if you lose some seed phrase.
Taking responsibility is better than fearing it, we want control of our assets, then we should control it with all we have.

What do you mean by "verifying the seed phrase from time to time"?
Do you mean importing your seed phrase into a wallet and checking whether it generate the same addresses or whether your funds are still there?

If so, that's really useless.
If your funds have been stolen, there's nothing you can do about it, and if you don't do that carefully, you may even reduce your security.

I can't remember doing some mistakes while doing my personal wallet and if I didn't get hack all my years of storage of coins before AI, I don't think hackers will get into me. We blame AI and hackers forgetting that we did something that lead hackers to get to us. Binance was hacked last week and report that came out today proves that one of the employee laptop was exploited when one of the hacker disguise as a person that was looking job with the employee.

Hacker don't come from no where and then suddenly have access to keys. There is something that you must have done wrongly and once they have access to that thing they need from you, they will hack you and take what they need from you. If you don't use an internet, there is no way hacker will get to you except if you are attacked physically which in that case it's not hacker again, it's a robbery.

This is all to instill fear in people's hearts, although theft and crypto are a big fear for people and that's why many people are stopping to consider crypto as safe.We have discussed this in our board and some people have given different opinions on it, although it is still a fear in the work because if you are keeping 1 million dollars in 3 wallets, then the total number is 350k$, then if 1 of them is stolen again, then that 350k$ will not be worth anything ?Therefore, keeping it in separate wallets is a solution for a while, not for the coming years. Therefore, the exchanges wallet should be strengthened so that it is more difficult for hackers and they do not reach people's money. This big theft of Binance has made people very scared and they are repeatedly moving their money around.

Slowly something is creeping in peoples mind. They are beginning to feel like nothing is actually safe. And that is scary. We all are witnessing the hacks and everything that has been going on in the cryptocurrency space about AI being used in hacking. But that should not be a volume of the amount of distrust we are developing for people who try their best to keep our cryptocurrency safe if you are using centralised and for decentralised people, you too are not totally immune. All we can do is try our best and protect ourselves despite what is going on in the cryptocurrency space.
