For bitcoin I don’t think it’s the price really matters, just because 1BTC is simply 1BTC and nothing changes, sure the 21m total supply is a factor that make bitcoin worth more. The fact that we know it has limitations and more cannot just be created will eventually make it scarce in the future. This is enough reason to care about bitcoin.

Also, the other features you listed above like the decentralized nature, self custody, and the freedom you get when you make transactions across countries without the involvement of any government authority is the another reason I care about bitcoin and not just its price value.

The price does matter because bitcoin is most times valued against a different currency, mostly the dollar so 1btc is still 1btc but the price today compared to when the very first bitcoin was mined isn't the same anf 20 years from today the price will also be different from what it is today so you can't just say the price doesn't matter.
But beyond the price bitcoin has been able to make international trade easier between different countries with different local currencies, with bitcoin no-one is more advantaged then the other since both parties dont hsve any form of claim on bitcoin.

I never did care about Bitcoin even when I had a friend who was years ahead in its knowledge and investment process that he made money from it. My own conviction came as at a time when salary became too little because of rising inflation, savings diminished in the bank and anyone with your account or bank verification details could easily see your balance and rate you instantly.

It's at this point I understood the essence of decentralization, good store of value, freedom from financial gatekeepers who own my money and can decide when to give me access to it or not, and that was when I delve in to survive both for my self respect and peace of mind and for my future.

Escaping a system controlled by the government made it more interesting to me and I can be in my sitting room any day and anytime and earn in Bitcoin or trade for Bitcoin and no one keeps a lid on my financial life nor rates me based on my account balance.
That's when I realized how much worth Bitcoin has till date.

Price is not value and value is what decides Bitcoin price in long term. Years ago, people were interested in Bitcoin because they felt something technically interesting and valuable in Bitcoin protocol and the blockchain. Then value attracted more people, and it created value over time, then price and trading volume come too.

It's still true in 2026 and in the future, if value losses, price and trading volume will be affected negatively and gradually drop to zero. If price is most important, you will see Bitcoin less attractive with time, years and market cycles because surely its ROI in the future will be smaller than in past years and previous market cycles.

Hedge against fiat currencies is my reason for wanting to know why I care about Bitcoin. For now, the price is my reason for wanting to keep Bitcoin, fueling my desire to keep trying to find a way to keep Bitcoin in my wallet. If the current price is considered low, that's not a problem, and in fact, it's an advantage in itself.

Ones who want it already have it. Those who don't have it yet are simply not able to afford it. Masses have already adopted bitcoins and popularity is increasing quite fast. That makes bitcoins one of the most wanted asset on our portfolio. The ones who are also involved in other investments already have a pretty good knowledge about bitcoins so they already might have a portion but the ones who never made any single investment in their life might find it difficult to adopt bitcoins.

Low price is just a way for us to get more bitcoins at a discounted price but not everyone has this mentality. There are a few who invest a certain amount and are just expecting profits with no more budget to invest. A downfall might be scary to those.

As human beings, we don’t move without benefit, although we don't always consider financial benefit, but there must be some other benefits. Like you are sitting with your fiends, because you feel comfortable and happy, that’s your benefit there and that’s why you are interested to sit with them. Unless there are financial benefits, then no one will move on to Bitcoin.

Besides price going up, another financial benefit is we can receive and send money worldwide without any third-party involvement. That’s also a big interest in Bitcoin. I have been earning online through Bitcoin payments; that’s another reason to become interested in Bitcoin besides the price going up.

Being able to earn online and get the payouts in bitcoins is one of the most important part for me which made me stick close for years. I don't have to worry about any unnecessary expenses once I get the payout.

I started my journey with freelancing and got a few payments in bitcoins. At that point, I started digging further and found out the benefits of being with bitcoins. My Bitcoin journey started when I discovered that it was not a scam. There was a time in my country when scammers were using the crypto industry to scam people.  Several shitcoins were advertised as Bitcoin or an alternative to Bitcoin. Many people began to invest in crypto projects that had no future. After some time, people began to lose money every day. Due to this experience, I avoided anything related to crypto. 

Before I could learn that Bitcoin was different, the price had already gone high. I was not financially strong enough to invest in it. But someone also exposed me to DCA, and since then, Bitcoin has contributed good profits to my investment coffers.

I would assume that most of the people in my location who engage in Bitcoin did so for financial gains.

I'm not in support of this. Human nature get too excited when they mention money, don't put potential profits when it's uncertain so they don't take you by your words. I have seen and read stories of a person introducing another person to Bitcoin and unfortunately, they got caught up in between dump and the person couldn't handle the dump and sold. After some weeks, the price returned and he was angry that this wasn't how they explained it to him.

People can have different interpretation of profit. It will be best you stick to what you want to give to the people, the profit is a bonus aspect of Bitcoin and should never be precede other things on your list. If the person is convinced enough and invest well and get good profits, even if they make the profit, they are not going to be persuasive to sell because they made good money. There should be other reasons to buy Bitcoin to entice people.

Decentralization is the reason for it. Being able to always have no third party involved in my ownership of funds and being traced by government is what I really cherish a lot. Bitcoin has been attracted more by people because of the incentives involved and this should also move people away from it if it stops providing the incentives people are benefiting from. Bitcoin has attracted people beyond just decentralized system, but has gone more to the extent of being a profitable investment.

I'm guessing most people are more concerned with having their life together without the added complexities that don't serve them.

People that have not seen the real value of bitcoin will always find reason to leave bitcoin, but those people who have discovered its true potentials and have developed deep faith in it will always find means to keep their bitcoin.

But the decentralized nature of bitcoin is permanent, and its the best thing about bitcoin that any centralized fiat cannot afford it to let us experienced. See, everything you use today, you probably started using it because either you needed it and you search for a solution and found what you currently use or someone was using a product near you and around and curiosity peaked and now you use the same product. Thats basically just how life is and i believe that people not interested in Bitcoin now, either with time they will source for it themselves without you having to do any onboarding or they will just keep seeing it around them especially as Bitcoin continues to get popular and curiosity will peak one day and they will adopt it.

Now im not saying carrying out adoption right now is bad or anything but with time, i just know everyone will adjust. I say it because i remember when i first heard about it, my curiosity did not peak at all but years down the line, here i am talking about Bitcoin, so with time i think everyone will eventually adjust.
