I'm new to bitcoin. Also this is my first time joining a forum. So i don't know how to create a post formally, forgive me.

I downloaded unisat wallet and created an account. Everything is normal as that guy said in youtube. But i found out that my wallet address is quite different like this -> "1Q6HWjEyrot9q13yDxp46aEYUz8WHbDEAD".

Is this address okay?

When i searched about it, everyone is saying like "its a burn address and you can't use that, its impossible to get an address like that randomly". I don't know what they meant by that.

Is this normal in here, or am i having a bad luck?

Why did i got an address like this?

It looks like a normal Legacy Bitcoin address. If it's created properly, the majority of the characters are random, and the last few characters are a checksum. It is possible to find a word in there once in a while, wallets don't care.

But: I don't know "unisat wallet". If you want to be sure you can access funds on this address, see if you can reproduce it by using your seed words from another wallet (for instance Electrum).

Is there a reason you're using this wallet in the first place? I'd avoid wallets that still use Legacy addresses, as they lead to higher transaction fees.

When i searched about it, everyone is saying like "its a burn address and you can't use that, its impossible to get an address like that randomly".

The burn address can be any address that no one knows a usable private key for. Some burn addresses are created by choosing a hash directly. As your address has been created using your seed and you know it will match if you use another trusted wallet and enter your words with the correct derivation path (which you have) it's very likely that you own this address. Just because it ends in DEAD doesn't mean it's a burn address.

The checksum has been confirmed so it's a valid legacy address. It's very likely this is just a coincidence. The chances of an address ending in any specific 4-character combination is roughly 1 in 11.3 million. As there are so many Bitcoin addresses there will always be some that end with words. Wallets don't care what their addresses look like.

To put your mind at ease you could check the address in a block explorer. If it really is a new address from your new seed then you shouldn't see any transaction history. If it does show any activity then this is concerning. If you know your seed is new then this is a red flag. You should investigate this before using it. Ensure you downloaded the wallet from the official website and not any links from the video description. Also ensure that your seed phrase has been created by the wallet and that you have written it down offline.

so put in 0.0000500 coins into it

that is about 3 dollars  and change and see if you can move the coins out.

you either lose 3 dollars and change or you find out the funds can be removed.

but as someone said

Was the wallet you used called The Sixth Sense or maybe you have the ability to see DEAD addresses?  (I tried)

While not impossible to randomly generate an address like that without using a vanitygenerator, the odds are pretty low.  Like, go play the lottery right now if you're telling the truth low...  I'd definitely make sure that everything you did was from trusted sources and the address was truly generated without you being phished or something.  If it is legit, I'd use it.  Why not?

If using a vanity address, this address isn't that hard to find.  That's why OP should be extremely careful.  It smells fishy enough that even OP knew something was wrong.  Red flag for sure.

Unisat is a decent wallet, it was designed for ordinals and to be used like metamask or phantom wallet.

They call such browser extension wallets as "web 3" wallets. Such wallets can be used to login into crypto websites using your bitcoin address and a signed message.

I dont use unisat, but it is quite interesting to see bitcoin doing the same as Ethereum / BNB /solana etc... it wasn't possible until 2025 i think

I didn't know that unisat had that functionality.  I have been complaining about Bitcoin falling behind in web 3 for half a decade at least now.  Glad to see someone is finally attempting to make Bitcoin a useful thing beyond a store of value.  It was actually embarrassing how far behind Bitcoin has fallen in the race for usefulness.  It would be great if this sort of thing had some traction.  Then maybe I wouldn't need to have a Solana wallet that I use orders of magnitude more than my Bitcoin wallet.

Yeah, I also think that it is an important feature.

I dont know who implemented first, but now metamask and phantom wallets also have this feature.

You can generate a bitcoin address with them and login into websites and do web3 stuff. Although unisat is bitcoin only.

I wouldn't want to use a browser wallet, because web browsers are really huge and complex software behemoths, full of bugs, exposed to the evil internet by design. What could possibly go wrong using them as a platform for your wallet. Sic!

The address 1Q6HWjEyrot9q13yDxp46aEYUz8WHbDEAD fed into the P2PKH Address Base58 tool on https://learnmeabitcoin.com/technical/keys/address/ gives below HASH160 value. OP could check going from the public key if it yields below HASH160 value.

PrefixHASH160Checksum
00fd4ac1bf391c1f4bfafa7050dd29cf688ed9945fea0ec6aa
1 byte20 bytes4 bytes

It's pure coincidence that the Base58 encoding renders the checksum to end in ...DEAD which triggers English speaking humans.

When the public address is also generated by another BIP39 compatible wallet, then it's certainly nothing wrong with that address.

Ordinals and BRC-20 tokens... useless blockchain spam crap and playground of "fools and coins are quickly parted". Roll Eyes

@OP why not tell us more why you decided to use Unisat wallet?

If this is only for storing Bitcoin, I am not fan with Browser wallet extensions or plugins; they are more vulnerable to online attacks.
And mainly this Unisat wallet is used for Ordinal incriptions; you can use that if your purpose is to hold tokens, NFTs, and memes, but it is not good for holding BTC.

If your purpose is for Bitcoin, then better use traditional wallets like Electrum wallet.
If you are planning to hold a large amount, I suggest make cold storage for the Electrum wallet.

Weird address it could be a vanity address?
Honestly, it shows dead at the end of the address. We can generate an address with "dead" at the end too using a vanity generator, but this is a legacy Bitcoin address. Most people nowadays use bc1 addresses, which have way cheaper fees when you make a transaction than using old legacy addresses.

Yeah, I also think that it is an important feature.

I dont know who implemented first, but now metamask and phantom wallets also have this feature.

You can generate a bitcoin address with them and login into websites and do web3 stuff. Although unisat is bitcoin only.

I think Unisat is the first one; it was launched between March and April 2023 before MetaMask and Phantom implemented this feature.

You're new to Bitcoin and it's important to learn and decide which direction you want to go with. Investment or trading or gambling with inscriptions and BRC20 token.

Investment is the safest choice and it is very profitable if you are able to DCA Bitcoin and hold your bitcoin in years.

Why and how did you know about Unisat wallet and decide to use it?

Unisat wallet is for people who want to do things with BRC20 tokens like useless inscriptions. It is risky and for safety of your capital, it's best if you don't do that.

You can see above, Unisat wallet is close source, another bad technical thing.

You can choose other wallets and have better ones to use

When i searched about it, everyone is saying like "its a burn address and you can't use that, its impossible to get an address like that randomly". I don't know what they meant by that.
Those who said that purely based it from the "DEAD" characters at the end of your address since burn addresses often created with recognizable words in it.
But most burn addresses have fancy words outside of the checksum part since it's very simple to do so.
(write the b58-character-consisting words, decode from b58, fill up the rest, calculate the checksum and encode to b58)

If it's in the checksum, it'll have to perform bruteforce until it produces the target characters.

So I'd go for Cricktor's take on this case.

I downloaded unisat wallet and created an account. Everything is normal as that guy said in youtube.
Mind if you tell us who is this "guy" from Youtube?

Because that's one way that you can get scammed, phished or instructed to create a wallet that appears safe but will be drained in the near future.
I'm not talking specifically about Unisat in the latter, but the instructions that a random guy provided.

You can see above, Unisat wallet is close source, another bad technical thing.

I did quick check, but it's rather confusing.

However, when we checked their repository, we found what was supposed to be their android repository unisat-app only contains a README.md.

A search on GitHub using the appID (related to android build settings) returned non-relevant results.

Despite claims, this app is NOT source available

Despite what wallet scrunity said, AFAIK https://github.com/unisat-wallet/wallet supposed to be repository for both mobile and extension version of unisat wallet. But what makes it confusing is:
1. https://github.com/unisat-wallet/unisat-app/releases (repo without code) says latest version of mobile app is 1.7.20
2. https://github.com/unisat-wallet/wallet/releases (repo with code) says latest version of the mobile app is 1.7.16

Personally i'll continue not to use this wallet, unless i need to sell any ordinal or similar token.

But what makes it confusing is:
I get the impression that they usually separate those builds, but once in a while published an apk version on the extension repo to notify the latest version with full compatibility with their extension (or the opposite). Judging from the released files the extension repo consistently released extension files instead of a mobile apk, so I'd assume the mobile repo should be the primary source for their apk. CMIIW.
