I keep feeling like someone well known other than North Korea is behind that Binance attack, and this news just proven that I might be wrong after all.

When you are accusing someone or a country, when the remain silent it's likely they are the culprit, but in the case of North Korea they have never fought for themselves over these accusations until now.

Even FBI investigation said they are responsible, how so? Any proof? None I guess.
Historically, it points to them with the biggest heists in the history of crypto exchanges. This could be a diversion and pinpointing to the opposing one might just the best response at all for denying what they have actually done.

While it is interesting to have a thought of it that there could be a relation to the politics which has always been. Because funds that have been stolen are used either in arms race or for political stability.

CZ doesn't even seem pissed about it, he want the SAFU fund to replace it sharply.
Isn't this the case of more than meet the eye?
I don't think so, while his involvement with Binance isn't the same as before being CEO but to say that he's not pissed at all, he truly is.

And seeing his baby got hacked with so much funds and the biggest in history definitely have hurt him a lot. You don't see someone emotional just through his posts on the internet.

When there is no stronger evidence for this, no case at hand. The FBI has accused North Korea of this Binance hack, and North Korea has responded by saying it is a grave political provocation. Meaning that it is a serious action by another country that is meant to provoke them.

The FBI should know what this act of hacking by North Korea can cause if they push further. This is not what to bring the US government into Binance when it is not a country-owned exchange. Trump knows better of why he doesn't want to involve himself and the US because this might actually cost more than the amount stolen if the US wants to teach North Korea a lesson about their hacking practices

for me I believe there has been no concrete evidence to show that North Korea were the ones that were responsible for this binance attack, we already know that not Korea has its own shenanigans no doubt about that, but this particular situation is more like giving a dog a bad name before killing it. Before accusing fingers this strong should be pointed towards North Korea, I believe there must have been some verification of the persons that took out this attack, or probably a situation whereby the North Korean government are responsible in shielding those that have been identified, before we should be going into conclusion to say the North Koreans were those that were behind this attack.

What happened to Russia hackers? What happened to other country hackers? Why point at North Korea because that’s where fingers can be pointed at and have to consequence. America be the hackers especially the American CIA through a third party but the will accused someone else for it, I don’t trust the American government (this present administration) they can do the unthinkable.

But however since there is no prove that any of the accused is actually the culprit so they have to keep guessing.

Not just you but I guess everyone that’s into bitcoin and crypto feels that way too. But North Korea have aways been victimized after attack like this. And it’s fair to see Kim react this way.
I don't think the assumption of "everyone" is the right way, also why use word "victimize", are they innocent? Mostly like its always true. Government investigations as well those independent chainanalysis says its linking to North Korean hackers. Those statement from north korean leaders are normal to defend their image in the public when they were accused its always like that.

People hate chaos. That's why most folks shrug off the idea of a small team of state hackers stealing 6 billion dollars as too stupid to be real, and go looking for a bigger hand and smarter plan. Conspiracy theories are born this way, and have been for ages, long before crypto. The feeling that there's more to the story happening here isn't bad though. It means we're doubting, and doubting is healthy.

North Korea is heavily sanctioned, so stealing crypto makes sense for them, because it can be exchanged for hard currency to fund weapons and keep power, and it's cheaper than almost any other option they have. Kim Yo Jong turning it around on Washington and pointing at US plans for seized crypto is clever propaganda. I'll give them that. But "you might benefit too" isn't proof that Washington did it. And the midterms? There's always an election around the corner. Pick any major hack, and you'll find a vote not too far away.

Almost half of the stolen money was frozen almost immediately by a few actors, stablecoin issuers and a handful of security councils. These few players can freeze billions of dollars of crypto with a single click, which is great when you've just been robbed, but scary when you think about how the same players could freeze your money without any good reason tomorrow. That freaks me out more than any mysterious figure pulling strings behind CZ.

Transactions with Bitcoin itself were unaffected. Nobody could freeze or roll back payments, or get a council of experts to override protocol rules. If you controlled your own private keys, you slept well at night last week. That isn't the case for everyone else, who trusted a company with a fancy fund name instead, and are now waiting for refunds..

You thinking that when there is accusations against north Korea and they did not respond means their are guilty is very wrong, how can you take silent for guilts when there is no evidence to point home the accusations.

Sometimes, some people will not give the accusers the attention they are looking for, since they already knows the origins and political undertones in the whole scenario, if there is evidence to drive home the accusations let them come up with it and safe us the guess of who is capable of hacking binance and moving out billions of dollars.

I mean lets be fair, what kind of government wanted to be associated with notorious group of hackers that steal and launder billion dollars of money? A government could be the most rogue but any government despite the characteristics definitely don't want to be associated with such group, we also don't have enough proof to know which country the hackers belong to so it's basically all speculations. You know what can prove this? on chain analysis and where the money went to. As the old saying, always follow the money.

I keep feeling like someone well known other than North Korea is behind that Binance attack, and this news just proven that I might be wrong after all.
And who, in your view, might have been the potential "attacker"?

Well, I wouldn't want to come up with any hypotheses based solely on news reports.

When you are accusing someone or a country, when the remain silent it's likely they are the culprit,
This argument is not convincing. Silence doesn't imply guilt; it simply means that one doesn't deem it necessary to respond to such a statement (perhaps a provocation?). Attempts to justify oneself often only serve to fuel suspicion. Moreover, baseless accusations have never carried any weight.

but in the case of North Korea they have never fought for themselves over these accusations until now.
Does a deviation from their usual behavioral pattern immediately make them appear suspicious (as if they’re hiding something) in your eyes? Smiley

Even FBI investigation said they are responsible, how so? Any proof? None I guess.
And why the Midterm election period?
Now, here is an interesting detail in this whole story. When I saw this news, I wondered: why is everyone so ready to believe a publicly leveled accusation without any evidence being provided? Is that really how it’s supposed to work? It has long been understood that an accusation made without evidence is slander - isn’t that right? Every claim should be backed up by facts (evidence).

And what does their constitution say? That an accused person is presumed innocent until their guilt is proven in accordance with the law (and confirmed by a court verdict)?

I would be more surprised by her statements if she had publicly taken the blame herself. Smiley I have no idea who is actually at fault here, but do you really think a thief would ever confess to what they’ve done?

Also, don’t forget that she is responsible for propaganda and agitation in the country, which means her statements might well serve a specific purpose.

Why is Trump silent about it? If that 6 Billion was stolen from US will he kept quiet? So unlike him.
And since when has Trump been appointed the global arbiter for resolving issues that arise in the crypto industry? Wink

CZ doesn't even seem pissed about it, he want the SAFU fund to replace it sharply.
Isn't this the case of more than meet the eye?
And how will anger help solve the problem?

I’d be very interested to hear what might be something hidden here (a conspiracy theory, perhaps?), because I honestly have no idea myself. Smiley

I think the reactions are all normal, the reaction from North Korea should've been expected because whether or not they are involved, you don't expect a country to sit idly or remain silent over such allegations, every government will deny the allegations then maybe order an investigation.
Trump has no affiliation with Binance in his capacity as POTUS, I see no reason why he should be meddling in the affairs of a corporation conducting it's business. If this Jack was performed on the US Treasury, then POTUS can have a stake in the matter.

According to Binance support..

"Latest Binance hacking investigation — November 4, 2026
The latest findings provide stronger evidence about who attacked Binance, how the hackers gained access, and where the stolen funds are now.

We can say the direction of the investigation is closed, but the claim is not valid yet until they are proven guilty. But while the investigation is ongoing, what we can do is find a better way to secure our funds from exchanges. Not safe until Binance says they are cleared and completely restored.

CZ won't take responsibility. He blames AI technology and makes it his scapegoat.
As long as Binance promises to refund all lost funds, they will forget about it. Many holders/traders never know about SAFU in the first place.

It's not so much who doesn't say anything but what evidence investigators have presented. When performing attribution for a large scale cyberscalpellation investigators typically document transaction flow. Identify infrastructure and understand how the cyber attackers operated. Even so. The results might not be available in its entirety. There must be a difference between suspicion and actual facts too. It's okay to guess on who else could have been. But until proven. Just another unsupported guess. I prefer to wait for the facts to be substantiated. And not act on political responses or misinformation.

Don't you feel ashamed of yourself for writing this, what were you even thinking? Do you know anything about technology, let alone intelligence and it's sharing? Yet, you are the one showing you know better.

In that case of you having a low experience in a field, if the whole world, especially those who knows about technology and intelligence sharing, and the sources are from both the government and private, especially the "independent organisations" all around the world, then you should either take it or say nothing you have no idea about.

It is possible that hackers from other countries might be adopting the same hacking and transfer of stolen funds pattern as North Korea. This will help them avoid suspicion since North Korea will always take the blame. It wouldn't be surprising if one day the world discovers that all these hacks attributed to that country are false. You know, it is common for some countries to blame their enemies for any evil act even when they are not sure.

Trump is more concerned about the midterm elections than these hacks. His destiny as the US president is now in the hands of his adversaries.

I don't know how OP wants CZ to react. Binance is doing damage control by assuring users that they are okay. Expressing anger might portray hopelessness or a lack of control.

Because he's so focus on election that he lost woefully technically. So he doesn't have time for other matters but now that election is about to be over, we might have his attention on this matter.

Well I don’t know how you expect CZ to react towards this, maybe go to all socials and be making noise about how badly he’s been hurt by this hack. Technically, it’s no longer the CEO of Binance and so it’s not in his place to call the shots; except maybe he’s still the underground Boss, but even at that, there isn’t still much he can do here.

Well, that's what he wants the public to believe but his actions say otherwise. He's not longer the CEO but he keeps speaking on their behalf? Just recently, he granted interview with Coindesk regarding this hack as if he's still in charge where he said some shitty things like "IF A CRYPTO EXCHANGE CAN BE HACKED, BANKS ARE IN A WORSE POSITION"

If he's not longer the CEO but just a share holder, then he should start behaving like one and move on. You can not claim to have resigned but still acting like you're in charge.

Many speculations releases and makes people guess who is the attacker. The real attacker will not respond this but they could enjoy the "fund" without telling to public. We cannot accuse anyone.

But some people might take advantage of this chaos, fishing in troubled waters and take the benefit to them. This case could be more than we thought but we should wait for the investigation on all so we know the real.
Meanwhile, we might see more attacks in the future as the hackers smarter than before. This could makes all needs to aware and careful with their business.

Well Old dogs know tricks. Everyone already knows that CZ is not only CEO on paper, but he’s pretty much the Boss underground. Binance still pretty much requires his expertise and experience so getting rid of him wouldn’t be that easy.

About his statement on the interview, Lol, I don’t know why you feel the statement is shitty, because I feel there’s a bit of truth in that, although technically both banks and CEXs are the same thing since they’re all Centralized after all.

When other exchanges were hacked, within a very short period, we realized who is behind it and currently binance have not come out to mention names. I was not comfortable with this respond because North Korea have been pointed hand to, in the past they could not be able to defend them which shows clearly that the were involved. But as for binance I think it is a different dimension which was why they media are now pointing fingers at North Korea and North Korea has come out to defend themselves. I am just waiting to see how this whole incident happened, I will give them few days to see what binance will say about the issue.
Based on the latest binance report, it all started from the job search platform, basically the hacker applied and interacted with one of the DevOps which is a kind of social engineering (social engineering) offering developers applications that they have modified, even binance anti-virus cannot detect it. DevOps downloaded the app and it was all chaos at first. Chronology and plot can be seen in this article https://www.binance.com/en/square/post/384328127385979

The question is, Is it an individual? group? lazarus group or another actor?

How do you know CZ is not pissed? Maybe he is just showing composure on cam, but definitely not when he's off cam, especially when he is alone. What will it do or help if he shows panic or frustration outside? It still won't change the fact that the stolen funds probably will not be recovered. So, just show in public that you are calm.

I also read about this theory that the US may be behind the attack, but I believe more that it's NK behind it and just confusing the public by spreading this made up story. I think that's their goal, and it seems to be working. They have diverted some attention to the US and made others think twice about whether it was really them.

Who told you that CZ is not worried? Have you seen how many post he has been making since the incident happened? CZ wants the customers to get back their funds because they made that assurance to their customers, that if such thing happened that they will get refunded with the SAFU money. They already made the arrangements for it. For him asking that the SAFU money should be used to replace the stolen funds, is not a valid reason for you to say that he is not concerned or worried about the stolen funds.

As for the tweet, I can that the two countries are now getting into pointing fingers at each other. No country want to be paint black in the media. Especially with something that is associated with the biggest theft known to mankind. What we want is evidence because evidence don’t lie. “He who accuses should be able to provide evidence”  As for now anybody is guilty till the culprits are caught.

Maybe he wasn't him to cry everyday about the situation and plead for a gofundme or support for what happened to his business before he'll realise that he's worried, CZ might not be reacting the way some people expected but deep down he's not happy cause such would've ruined the reputation of his business if some of the stolen funds weren't frozen.

It's one of the biggest internet money heist and even though North Korean popular government backed hackers are the culprit, I don't think they’ll accept the accusation, no criminal would accept they committed a crime until found guilty so since there's no prove even the culprits can deny.
