I thought about it and decided to join a few communities. I've learned about confirmation entries as a way to improve my win rate, and we also push and encourage each other whenever we don't hit stop losses😃

The point of this post is: Do you think joining a trading community can improve your market insight and win rate, or is trading alone the better option?

Anyone that works for you is what you should rely on. Don’t think because others are using a method and it works for them, then trying that method will also work for you. Trading can be very difficult, but with smart approach, it boosts your confidence level and your chances of getting it right. The trading community gives room for a competitive floor before taking a trade but sometimes it doesn’t boost your confident and trust in your own analysis. They have their own advantage and disadvantages, so it is better you go with the one that works for you best.

Do you think joining a trading community can improve your market insight and win rate, or is trading alone the better option?

Both are relevant, but you must actually know what you want. There are times you will need to consider the community contributions towards a particular trade or within a specific time frame of trading experience, while there are also times when you will need to focus more on what you can deliver in your own capacity to trade. You cannot be 100% accurate at the same time; the time of day from that community may not be 100% accurate, but bringing both together gives you more closeness to being accurate in your trading
While both are relevant and can be used simultaneously to make trading decisions, I think it's better to go for what works for you as a trader instead of using the two at once.

When you're trading with a trading community, there'll signals that might not personally sit well with your especially if they don't align with your own analysis and it might put you in a conflicting position on which to go with.

So sticking to trading with your own experience or with a trading community and sticking with either will make you not question too many movements of the market.

Connecting with like minded people is a good way to know the market from different perspectives. Different analyses will come, and you can learn a lot from them, along with many other benefits. However, I am not enjoying it for myself because there is a great chance that other opinions will impact my analysis, which may not align with my own. Rather, I prefer to learn alone, grow alone, and take care of everything. This way, I can make my own self analysis and be satisfied with the results.

Price action this year has been pretty challenging. I don't know if I'm the only one who's noticed this, but it feels like the market has been full of manipulation lately. Key levels don't seem to hold anymore, OBs fail, etc.

I got frustrated and stopped trading for about three months. Then I came across a thread on Reddit about how trading communities can help build confidence, offer different perspectives on the market, and help traders connect with like-minded people.

This year price action is so messed up that you will start doubting your own strategy. Last year price action wasn’t completely okay , but still far better than this year .  My losing rate has increased in the past months and I had to go on a break . Hopefully next year price action would be far better .  Now is to keep learning in order to adapt to the this new crazy price action.

Trading in a community is great when it comes to gaining different perspectives and learning from other traders. However, it also has its disadvantages.  if you’re the type to easily get pressure by others especially by their wins you will have to be extra careful when come to community but still is okay to connect with other traders.

If it works for you, why not right? You are learning from the communities you joined, so it's a positive thing for you. Just be careful in joining bad communities especially those who especialize on meme coins, those are typically PVP group and, pump and dump group. Avoid those even if you are getting attracted by the very big gains they are posting. You will just be their liquidity at some point.

There's a lot of trading communities out there and they could be led by many types of people. Finding the most suited for you is your priority and just stay on that community as long as you find it helpful for you. A good community can expand our insights and give really helpful opinions about our trades.

If you don't think that joining a community is a good thing for you, trading alone might be the best for you. There are many traders that isn't part of any community. Being self taught is the best for them.

I don't see any wrong from joining in trading community. But I don't think that would be the best option.

Personally, I still prefer trading alone because I can maximize my own potentials in trading using my own knowledge and skills, while I continue to acquire more and learned more of it every trading experience. Losses are real, but that's the reality in trading, you just have to maximize your wins and limit your losses, its the only way to survive for long term with trading.

The short answer is that, it does help. However, you've to be careful and intentional about it. Now, one thing you shouldn't let to happen is for you to let your trading career to become heavily dependent on the community for success. You still need to do your thing and other use analysis or thesis from the community members if and only if you've already done your analysis and their thesis only gives you a fresh perspective or insight or a trade /key level / macro stance, etc.

Another bonus is that it helps a lot with the psychology part which might be difficult to do on your own expecially when you hit a real losing streak.

As somebody who tried both of it (trading alone and trading alongside a community), having a community is always the better option.

More ideas, more strategies that will be shared, more knowledge that will be shared. These are some of the things that you could get when you're in a trading community. It's not only that, but I've been on some communities where there are some who are doing free trading sessions on Discord where they're sharing different strategies that you can use in trading (Introduction to different strategies such as SMC, ICT, and many more). Some communities though requires you to register under their referral link which is basically free, but in exchange, you will get lots of knowledge that could help you become a better trader. Well, at least this is mine, and we have different experiences.

What I will say is that, if there's an opportunity for you to join into a trading community that has free courses and knowledge to share, don't hesitate and join. As long as they don't require you to pay either one-time or monthly, join there. It's way better than doing it alone as you will learn from other trader's experience as well. Smiley

At the point where you are already successful in trading and have a strategy that is working for you, I think the best thing then is to not continue looking for more information because that can make things complicated and spoil the success you are enjoying.
Being in a group can be the exact distraction you should be avoiding because of the opinions that can be conflicting and make decision making much harder than it should be.

Do what works best for you, are you a team player or a sole player, knowing this is going to help you know which strategy works best for you having the best outcomes possible. Your real life behaviour/path could be of help here too, you should definitely try out both ways of trading and the way you got the most results and also found enjoyable should be retained.

It isn't just about making the money but having a passion for what you do and how you do it  because some days, that's what'lll keep you going and that's why you have to find the strategy that works best for you. I'm more of a sole type of trader and that's because I enjoy trading on my own terms and not having to compare analysis with others or allow them influences what I want to do.

Although I have had some good results trading with people but my best outcomes has been when I'm alone  (on my own) analyzing how the markets is going to react next.

You have a point, but don't you think, you'll get to push to be better when you see like-minded folks doing well?

You will definitely but it depends on your mindset. If you're pushing under frustration just because you want to be like them while you're not good like them, you're likely to make things worse for yourself by taking decisions you can not literally handle. Being in the midst of like minded people can keep you disciplined if you're there to become better by learning. It's a good way to help you understand so many strategies from others but if you are there to compete, then you may get a different result.

What I know is that bitcoin is not really a manipulated crypto, but I think other altcoins are more realistically manipulated compared to Bitcoin.
And I have witnessed that many times by those who have been in this industry for a long time in my observation.

Then the manipulation only works in business or investment matters like stocks, investment, and here in the crypto
market except on bitcoin only.

Do you think joining a trading community can improve your market insight and win rate, or is trading alone the better option?

It depends on the type of community you are enlisting yourself, because if you decide to get enlisted into a trading community where majority of the traders there are less informed, or less skilled, you are not going to benefit a shit from it, but if the community is full of knowledgeable users, you are going to benefit a lot, but take note that you can still be misinform or misled if you ask the wrong person on a particular subject you are ignorant of, because like minded people does not entails the same level of knowledge in trading.

I have it balanced that there are possibly good communities that doesn't exploit their members and could be profitable. But, the most of them have ways of making money from its community and that's why being a part of it will only give them the benefit. From sign ups, fake signals and other attraction that they'll offer just to stay and be active with it. Learning together is fun and become profitable but, having these group studies of trading doesn't work for everybody. Just take the knowledge and possible strategies that can be applied as an individual trader so you won't be fooled by any of those.

The point of this post is: Do you think joining a trading community can improve your market insight and win rate, or is trading alone the better option?
In the trading world, it's true that joining a community can provide us with a wealth of insight, especially if we join a good trading community. But again, that doesn't guarantee you'll profit from trading. Even if you have a trading community, when you open a trade, you're the one doing it. So, in my opinion, the community simply becomes a place to socialize and vent. In trading, our main enemies are our own emotions and lack of focus. That's what I'm experiencing right now: when we can't think clearly, the first thing we need to do is stop trading. That can be very dangerous. And don't forget, we must be focused and thorough when trading. If we're not focused, our analysis won't work well. Sometimes we miss things when we're not focused. So, in conclusion, a community is great, but it's not the primary factor in our trading success.

Depend on how they sharing the lessons to guide and help others. If they just want to benefit from the community, that will not good to join them. But if they helping others and teach people how to get the right time entering the market and many others, you can join them and learn from them. It is not many communities who can teach people and sharing many valuables information and lessons. If you find the one and really helping, you can join and learn and see how you can improve yourself.

It completely depends on one own experience. If you are an expert in market movements and chart analysis, trading alone is preferable. And if there is doubt about your own experience, the community is quite effective. Because when everyone analyses together, the chances of making mistakes decrease. And it increases the ability to improve oneself further. However, the problem in this case is trading according to someone else's analysis without correcting your own mistakes.

Therefore, continue the effort to improve oneself through community participation. Personally, I have never taken such steps. I know that both profit and loss exist in trading.

Find a mentor that will take you by the hand and watch over you that's one key thing towards becoming a successful trader, joining a community of traders is a good thing because it will help you to learn from various traders experiences, however upon that, you have to master a particular trading pattern that suits you, that's study yourself if you are a scalper, a day trader, or a swing trader.

I agreed with you, but now communities are changing, things are getting worse. Everyone is looking for personal interest. A few months back I joined one community for having improvement in profit. It worked well just for one week, then suddenly things got to the worst level, and mostly members lost big losses because no one knew what happened, but the mentor disappeared, so it ended in a big loss. Just because of this now, I always encourage trying to increase your knowledge and have good skills with plan. It is most important if someone can control his emotions; then he can do much better and have a good chance of profit alone instead of going into communities that are having nothing special for anyone.

I think that's one of their tactics that they'll make improvements and help with individual trades by teaching the basics of trading. But then, when he's seen enough rapport and they're being trusted by the start up community they're building. That's when they'll start to shill coins and make profit out of it by pumping one and making them as their liquidity that they'll use to exit eventually without notifying their members. So, it happens and people who are used to jump into different communities to improve their trading skills need to adhere with that caution.
