Do people really aim to be rich to show-off

The other day I was considering a statement I made about living poor, and later realized that it could be a de-motivating factor for people who aim to be rich in order to show off or flaunt the riches. I think this group are in the majority which explains why most rich people's homes or properties have lots of fanciful and unnecessary things.
There is another group who wouldn't care whether their riches are known about or not as long as they are useful to others/society... This should be the minority.
 
And there are people who want to be rich to escape poverty and be able to live a comfortable life.. This group of people are less likely to live poor or be selfless but their top priority is not to show off. They are more concerned about self and family.

It's quite surprising that "show off" is a motivating factor to be rich for many. What if nobody cares, would they consider being rich. This likely will be a desperate group of people who would lack patience and easily fall to the temptation of overnight riches.
As for the rich ones who can live poor, I think they will do well managing a country or even businesses, and will also be very patient people and less financially corrupt. It'll be much better to live or invest in countries, organizations or businesses run by such people since they are more likely to focus on wellbeing of people rather than to make as much money as possible to live selfishly/extravagantly.

Also for me the financial freedom is the real wealth. If i have a good amount in which i take care of my family cover there expenses plus i have emergency funds as well plus if someone needed money i give it to them that is enough and i do not need to show off to people that i have money and this is my bank balance.

A lot of those who are showing off their wealth now were people who vowed never to go public about their wealth but when they got the opportunity they even became worst as most of them do a daily vlog about their luxurious lifestyle. I know a lady who doesn't like posting pictures and videos on social media and she sees any lady doing that as people who are not matured but it was until she got an iPhone that she started doing those things she used to condemn other people that were doing it. There's peace in living a low-key life because it helps you to stay private and not release sensitive information about your personal life to the public. It is through showing off that most people get robbed and attacked because as you are showing off you may not know that you are drawing attention to bad people who can harm you.

Yes there are actually people like that, they use it as motivation and sometimes such motivation pays off. You know sometimes people want to show what they are capable of doing, they want to buy the watches, the cars not for any personal reasons, just to flex it.

Even as it's souds like a way to be motivated, it is not a healthy motivation by the way.

The only good thing about this type of motivation is that if it is strong enough you will be able to achieve your goals, its generally another way to be motivated, but I will not advise you should use that as a way to motivate your self.

Back in this days, becoming rich to live a comfortable lifestyle was a goal for those generation but the way making money has been come fairly easy now, that even a young man of less than 18 years can instantly become a billionaire overnight is what instigate the act of showing off riches because most of them make their money on social media or music and naturally the media is all about slowing off your personal life at least the modern media space. Well, whatever aim you have to get rich the most important thing is that you get the wealth that you are looking for because it would be a shame to aim to get rich to show off and end up having nothing after spending to impress others. The main purpose of having money for me is to create wealth, wise people use the money they have as an opportunity to make more money and not to show off to others that they are rich. You're extremely right, Some people want to become rich just to bully others, and also to feel superior. Some people will go to any extent to become rich even if it means following through illegal ways. We all have different plans, reasons and also the purpose of becoming rich. Some people want to be hold in high esteem, and have power over others. I have full assurance that having money through legal means can be so peaceful and relaxing, rather than doing something illegal. I believe sometimes the need to brag is due to comparing ourselves to others. Social media has made it worse, as people tend to post photos of the things they have bought and done to make it seem like they are rich, which means they need to show it. But it's not the same if it's something you enjoy and it's something people are paying you for, versus it being something that people have to see. A good car or a decent phone isn't necessarily a display of wealth, it's about what you have in mind. In my opinion a advantage to money is the choices it affords, the security and peace of mind it brings to you than the attention it gets. With what I've noticed with the real rich and wealthy people, they are not there to impress people, they don't like showing off what they have proven to the world already. That's why they don't care if someone flaunts in front of them and that's not a big matter to them. They'll even be targeted by people who has bad intention in knowing them. Truely show off is the multivating factor of many people who wants to become rich, and for me that is not the real purpose of wealth. But however it is not possible for everyone to have thesame lifestyle. The real wealthy people everyone needs is the type that care for the masses, a philanthropist type, but the reality is that wealthy people of that type are only about 5 in 100 in the world. I prefer to be a rich poor man or a philosophist than a show of type, infact I detest such set with passion. But Another thing is that she people are also "rich poor man" in appearance but can't help the masses, but I prefer the one that is rich but appear cool, humble and caring.

There are indeed many people like that in this life, as I've often seen such people in my own environment. It's also important to note that people who crave recognition from others are often more easily envious of others' success. I don't even like to get too close to such people because rich people don't actually need recognition from others, but rather receive it directly from others without expecting it themselves.

Showing off is part of being considered rich, rather be motivated to show off and become wealthy instead of staying humble while poor. The difficulty in becoming wealthy shouldn't be undermined, every wealthy person deserves to live in the best house, wear the best dress, and have the best accessories, if you consider it part of showing off, it's yours to deal with.

I don't really believe this will make sense at all, majority of people that do show off are the kind of people who do not have the money they are dreaming of, but just to deceive themselves they decided to make things real so that others will take them to the status they wanted. I don't see any reason why a rich man or a wealthy man to be showing off after everything is speaking for him or her already, people don't show off most at times you will see them living the most simplest life you can imagine from them, rich people doesn't have to tell you that he is rich, but by looking at the things they use you will speak for them, that is why they are not bothered to even tell people that they are rich because what is in them is in them and that cannot be taken away.
