Any advice on custodial multi sig vendors like Casa, Anchorwatch, or any others?

Also, looking for most trusted hardware wallet.  Used to use Coldcard, and have a Ledger and Bitkey to try them, but looking for long term solution and want robust and trusted solution.  all the hacks have got me rethinking set ups.

Thanks!

With latest incidents with hardware wallets, as well as challenge to check whether a hardware wallet you bought is tampered or not, it's very uncertain to store your bitcoin in a hardware wallet.

There are non custodial wallets with softwares, and you can create single signature wallets or multisig wallets.

Setting up multisig on your own is better than the ones that you are talking about which are charged probably annually. If you want multisig, just do it on your own. It is a good solution to avoid hardware wallet hack that happened.

If you want to go for multisig, all the cosigners do not need to be using hardware wallets individually for it.

Those examples are "self-custodial", not custodial since they only have one cosigner key and the customer has the rest.

But those claims must be checked in their code if it's open-source. (use LLM to audit if you must)
Otherwise, you have to trust what they're saying.

-snip-  all the hacks have got me rethinking set ups.
Please elaborate those setups, even not detailed, so we wont have suggest what you already have.

I have no idea about all the names you mentioned but I have heard about ColdCard, not until this recent when the hack on ColdCard happened, that's to show that Coldcard wasn't as popular as you think.

I was shocked to read the news about this Coldcard hardware wallet, I kept asking what is ColdCard because I never knew such hardware wallet existed, they are flying under the radar but not completely well known.

The most popular hardware wallet that I know are Ledger and Trezor, don't quote me wrong, I am not saying the most secured, even though ledger is aclosed source one it's still popular than ColdCard.

I assume you are intend to use HW as cosigner in multisig setup with one of reputable vendors since you’re asking advice for both trusted hardware wallet and custodial multisig vendor. I’d advocate Passport Core by Foundation. It can be added as cosigner to Casa BTC vault. Another option though a bit more expensive is Foundation latest HW, namely Passport Prime, which is also supported by Casa.

Make sure you go with a crypto wallet that's open source so that their code can be known and shown by the public, going Multisig is the best thing that anyone can do and if you are talking about the most popular why not go Trezor?

All these wallets now offers Multisig so there is no problem with that, I would still go with a airgapped device and create the Multisig using airgapped device, get a hardware wallet and do the Multisig yourself.

Ledger is a risk that should be avoided at all costs, and Trezor can serve as a solid hardware wallet with the note that it should be purchased exclusively from the manufacturer. For those who are looking for the safest solution, read this post - or simply create a cold wallet on an old computer from which you will physically remove all components that can be used for wireless communication.

With what has happened with all of these, people have come to understand that popularity is not equal to safety.
And this have opened the curiosity of others if the former trusted and popular ones have been breached, what's next for us to be their alternative.

if you are talking about the most popular why not go Trezor?
He's probably also aware of the implant of chips on one of their products by its reseller and as well as the data leak from their third party.

Any advice on custodial multi sig vendors like Casa, Anchorwatch, or any others?
I have never used any of them, but I heard good things about Casa that is co-created by Jameson Lopp.
You need to think good if you really need service like this, since they are mostly used for securing larger amount of coins.

Also, looking for most trusted hardware wallet.  Used to use Coldcard, and have a Ledger and Bitkey to try them, but looking for long term solution and want robust and trusted solution.  all the hacks have got me rethinking set ups.
Trezor is probably one of the best open source long term solutions, since they have longest support and updates from all hardware wallets.
I would avoid purchasing it online with personal information, and I would buy in official physical shops or in bitcoin conferences.

All the hacks have introduced high level of consciousness in the industry. From self custody to centralised exchanges back. While we were looking out for quantum computers to do the dirty crackings and hackings, AI is already taking the revolution.

All these wallets now offers Multisig so there is no problem with that, I would still go with a airgapped device and create the Multisig using airgapped device, get a hardware wallet and do the Multisig yourself.

Why combine air-gapped setup with multi signature? Multi signature is already a kind of complicated already (not for experts though).
A properly set up air-gapped device is okay and safe.
