The poor has all reasons to try and chase money as a gambler than the rich, although the rich also wants to make some money but they are always cool headed, there is nothing to FOMO after because they are self made already.

A poor man is a desperate man like they say, the rich is in a neutral state and there is no reason why things should work out the way they want,  but the poor? They will want to force their way, the type of customers that casinos truly needs.

Another good point is the rich knows how to risk what they can afford to lose, in the eye of the poor it will sound big but they can truly afford to lose it, and if they did lose it they have no reason to chase their loss because there is more money where it cames from.

Gambling is not specifically designed to appeal to the poor, it is the poor who seek to get economical relief from gambling because of their hardships.

For poor people gambling may look like a means to change their lives overnight, most especially when they’re struggle financially.

Well, most of the physical casinos that were built here in our country were in residential areas where rent and housing are cheap. You could already say that their target is those people who are near it although they would still prefer rich guys to come.
The only problem is that most poor people are the ones who are aggressive when it comes to gambling. They badly want to win in exchange for a good life, but the opposite is what happens most often, which may be the reason why casinos have a bad reputation, especially those in residential areas.

Gambling does not specifically target one group, but is aimed at anyone who is willing to take the risk.. As for why a larger number of gamblers tend to come from lower income backgrounds, it is because of their wrong mindset that places gambling as a source to earn more money quickly.. They think that gambling can make them rich quickly without the need to work hard.. Meanwhile, rich people tend to think that gambling is just for entertainment. That's why the number of poor people who become gamblers is so high, especially in developing countries where the economy is more difficult.

Gambling is for everybody whether you're rich or poor you can gamble according to the amount that you have, if gambling limits were what the poor cannot afford then we can say that it is specifically made for the rich and middle-class but I know many poor people that gambles. It's just sad because most of those who are addicted to gambling come from the poor, that's why some conclude that gambling is designed to exploit the poor. But gambling shouldn't really be a problem if we gamble responsibly, as we often read in their reminders, we wouldn't face these problems. Actually casinos are also helpful to us especially if we just want to be entertained as they have lowered their minimum bets in our country, even with $1 we can already gamble and enjoy it for hours if we are lucky.

So it's unfair to conclude that gambling is designed to exploit the poor as casinos don't necessarily operate that way, licensed casinos are regulated and have to follow certain requirements before they are given a license.

If that's how we think, we are just finding excuses for our actions as irresponsible gamblers.

Bro, gambling is for everyone and all walks of life, regardless of whether they’re rich or poor. And to be honest, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of or seen a promotion specifically targeted at poor people. Financially speaking, they do need money more than rich people, but that doesn’t mean casinos target the poor as their primary audience. In fact, I think it should be the other way around I mean, if casinos are looking for a target audience, it should be the rich since they clearly have more money than the poor. Right?

Yes, gambling is for the poor. And for the rich. People of all levels can gamble. Rich people gamble secretly because they gamble according to their status and the poor gamble with gamblers of their own level.
If I were a poor gambler, I would only see poor people around me gambling and getting addicted. But if I could be a rich gambler, I would not gamble with ordinary gamblers because I would gamble with those rich gamblers.

Gambling is for everyone,  both poor and rich Plat it, there is no segregation in gambling its only children that are not allowed to play it, that's the only restriction in gambling,  aside that it's a free to air for everyone that can play it. Your reason sounds enough to support what OP claims but in my opinion both rich and poor gambles for their own reasons and gamblers who are aware of how to gamble may sustain and succeed in life financially. There cannot be well practice or definition exist that gambling is only for poor because we can gamble for 1 cent and 1 million as well. So, anyone can gamble but the real question must be how long you could continue your gambling.

Gambling must be suitable for anyone who dominates their emotions. If a gambler lets his emotions to dominate then it will destroy them over the time. Gambling at minimum level and not getting addicted to it will help anyone to gamble for longer time regardless of they are rich or poor.

To be honest, gambling is not for the poor, but the reality is that poor people gamble more than rich people. Their mentality is that they will quickly gain a lot of money through gambling, through which they will become rich and fulfill all their desires. In what sense is gambling really a game of luck? If you have good luck, you can earn more money through gambling, research is needed through gambling, besides luck helps a gambler the most to win. There may be various reasons for a rich person to keep gambling secret. Among them may be that rich people want to keep their honor and dignity intact among the common people. They do not want to lose their honor and dignity, that is why even when rich people gamble, they hide it from everyone so that others do not know about it because not everyone sees gambling from a good perspective.

As for rich people, perhaps we simply don't see them gambling because our paths don't cross. Rich people live in mansions behind high fences topped with barbed wire. They don't want to interact with poor people. So, they gamble in establishments where poor people like us don't go.

Furthermore, it seems to me that the goal of gambling is completely different for rich and poor people... Poor people are focused on the outcome. They desperately want to win to improve their financial situation. Rich people are already rich. For them, the process of gambling itself is important. They enjoy the process and the atmosphere of the casino.

In general, our world is so unfair that hard work doesn't allow people to significantly improve their financial situation. They can only hope for luck. Sometimes, of course, people hit the jackpot, but more often than not, they lose, because you can't cheat mathematics.  🧑‍💻

You actually made some fair points. If someone is already struggling financially,  they are more likely to be drawn to gambling because they believe that they can make quick money from it and probably improve their life style. But unfortunately that hope can become a vicious circle where they keep losing money over and over again, but they’ll continue playing anyway as they hope the next win will make up for the loss.

This may be why alot of people believe that gambling is associated with poverty. But I wouldn't say that only poor people gamble though.  The only difference is that if a person who is already struggling to survive continues losing more money, it can have a lot more serious consequences on their financial situation.

Well not exactly,  you can't say gambling is for the poor alone,  by the way, the casinos do not have the poor as their only target customers, literally the rich even make better customers,  because their stakes are such that a single loss will cover the stake of multiple poor gamblers who are aiming to make thousands and millions from staking with very small amount. Both the poor and rich gamble and it is actually made for them both, only that their approach towards it differs a whole lot and that is why it will look like it is mostly a poor man thing than it is for the rich.

If gambling was for the poor alone,  there wouldn't be big and massive casinos been built with exclusives and vip inns, its a market for both the poor and the rich, you choose your poison and how you want your death. The idea of getting rich gambling is something even the rich sometimes does bank on, they want to get richer gambling,  so they stake heavily and hope good outcomes get them at the top withing the shortest time period possible.

I do not think that gambling is just limited to poor people. Both categories either rich or poor involved in gambling infact rich bets more money then poor because if the poor opens a bet and think like he will spend some portion of  his income it will be a penny in front of  some rich people who just risk a small portion of his amount in a bet for fun. The purpose behind gambling of majority of poor people is to earn a jackpot while some rich just doing it for fun so i think both are involved and both have there own perspective.

It is not only the poor who do gamble but the majority of the gamblers are poor people . These are mostly people who do not have source of income and  they believe that they can become wealthy through gambling. However, the rich may not see gambling this way, they  maybe gambling for entertainment rather than to make profit but there are still greedy rich folks that still want to make more money through gambling. Both the poor and the rich do gamble but with different mindset.
