Announcing the release of ETERNALCOIN "your coin for afterlife expenses"!

Launch Countdown: LAUNCHED!

Theology

Have you ever wondered exactly how you will pay for necessities in the afterlife?  Of course you have.  We all worry about such stupid things.  Well, worry no more.  Simply point your miners to EternalCoin (ETC) on April 10th and begin amassing the kind of fortune only the most righteous of souls have dreamed about!  Gone are the days when you needlessly worried about building a bank of points to get where you want to go.  With ETC you are almost guaranteed an afterlife seat next to those that look down upon you in this life based on your chosen lifestyle.  Heck, you may even be able to buy them as your servants.  How cool is that?

We are launching this scrypt based ticket to freedom on April 10th.  Be sure to visit this post often for updates.

Coin Specs

  • Scrypt based POW (proof of worthiness) (regular scrypt miners will work)
  • Initial Block Reward: 10,000 ETC
  • Block Time: 60 seconds
  • Block Maturity: 5 confirmations
  • Difficulty Retarget: 6 hours
  • Block Halving Rate: 6000 blocks (about every 4 days, rewards early followers)
  • Max Coin Supply: 120 million ETC
  • Premine: Of course!  This life changing shit wasn't cheap to procure.  0.83% (approx. 1.0 million ETC in the form of the first 100 blocks for bounties and past and future development fees)

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Is there anything new concept of this new coin? We have so many coins be creating day by day. Only those with technology innovation or concept innovation will have a chance to success. You should really go here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=558319.0 to see how Comm coin operatae. See how people are tied tightly by each other. Everyone is considering to contribute himself. So good luck ETC.  Grin

What is the latest status of this coin?
Maybe ppl here should consider to vote COMM coin from here.

This is so everyone has the chance to download the wallet prior to the launch without having a backlog of requests all at once.  The password to unlock will be posted at launch so everyone has the same starting point when mining begins.

I'd like to thank eduffield and the other developers for this critically important evolution in virtual currency. DarkCoin is what bitcoin should have been. Some might call it "Bitcoin 2.0" but would do better by saying: "DarkCoin is digital cash." - Child Harold - February 28, 2014

Well...now that you mention it, I seem to be destined for Hell. It's about time I worried about how I'm going to pay the freight while down there.

Some bullshit story whatever, you can name this coin kjdfnkdfnvdnf coin as long as there is an active dev team trying to get it on a reasonable exchange site and there is no IPO I will give it a try.

EternalCoin & Fusioncoin  Merged Mining Pool

http://pool.fusioncoin.org/eternal

Quote
What is FusionCoin?
FusionCoin is a hybrid PoW coin using SHA256 and Scrypt. Both are merged minable. full support of MultiSig address. More features (Contract, Smart Property and Decentralized Exchange) in development ...
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=512149

Quote
How does merged mining work?
Merged mining allows you to mine for FusionCoin and another coin like BitCoin at the same time. The benefit is that you don't need to move your hashing power to FusionCoin, instead, you're earning extra FusionCoin while not affecting your mining. This is feasible because FusionCoin accepts a certain format of PoW which can prove you've done incredible amount of hashes on another blockchain. You can do merged mining with FusionCoin and BitCoin or LiteCoin forked altercoins. Further readings for merged mining can be found here.

Fusioncoin is a free gift for miners.

Also, this is the first coin i've seen that has a .conf file in the wallet folder and not in user/roaming/appdata... is that normal?

This coin is likely to have tremendous problems very soon.

Another clone of Litecoin, using the Litecoin diff algo - which means max diff adjustment of 400% upwards, and uses expected versus actual block height to determine next difficulty

As of this post, we are at block 2601 right now.  With 1-minute block times, we shouldn't be hitting block 2601 until 43.5 hours after the coin launch.  We are over 10x ahead of schedule right now in terms of block height.

This means at the next diff adjustment, regardless of the current network hashrate, it will go up the max 400% of current diff, which would be 4.0, even though the net hashrate demands roughly 2.8 for the next diff.

Depending on how far ahead of schedule we are after that diff adjustment, it may go up even higher - even as the net hashrate continues to drop.  Within a day or two, network block times will be measured in hours, not minutes.

There are still alot of orphans because the diff is not high enough for the current network hashrate.  Normally, orphans would show up in your transaction history with a question mark next to them (generated but not accepted) but for some reason the ETC wallet doesn't display them at all, or they will show up for a second or two and then disappear.

You are correct. After I posted that I thought to myself "it could have been an orphan", but I am used to seeing it still show up in the wallet.

But, I ran listtransactions and sure enough it was an orphan. Damn buggy wallet. Smiley

Nope.  Nothing new here except the chance to own the only unofficial coin of the afterlife.  Wink

It doesn't appear this is happening.  We just passed the block 3240 adjustment and the difficulty went from 1.9 to 1.6.  We are still ahead of schedule as you pointed out but the adjustment should only be based on the previous 360 blocks.  I'm not sure what went wrong at launch but it seems to be adjusting fine now.

FYI....With block halving occurring every 6000 blocks we are over halfway to 5000 ETC block rewards.  If the average block time stays around one minute we will be halving about every 4 days.

Mining this Smiley Where can i find future plans/goals?

Thanks for your question.  In the short term we would like to get this coin to an exchange.  That way those holders that would rather have BTC or fiat instead of saving up for the afterlife may cash out at anytime.   Grin

Seriously, our plans do involve an exchange as one of the first steps in order to gain exposure and the ability to be listed on coinmarketcap.com (which equals more exposure).  At that time we will be working extensively to gain merchants that are willing to accept ETC.

no github?

Note: We are not affiliated with the previous EternalCoin.

  • Block Halving Rate: 6000 blocks (rewards early followers)
  • Max Coin Supply: 120 million ETC
  • Premine: Of course!  This life changing shit wasn't cheap to procure.  0.83% (approx. 1.0 million ETC in the form of the first 100 blocks for bounties and past and future development fees)

Pools

1. http://etc.pitythepool.com (Thanks Mortimer452!)

2. http://etc.sumpool.com

I don't know if there's any bounty for translation to Spanish, anyway here it is, I think this coin is interesting and has good possibilities, so here's my bit in its promotion.

Here's the link for the Spanish translation https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=567903.new#new

I'm a bit newbie with posting and translating here, so please tell me if it doesn't work properly.

Note: I'm from Spain but I tried to translate it as neutral as possible to the rest of Spanish locales, any suggestions are welcome.

We'd love to add eternalcoin but the linux wallet is a horribly bad copy of litecoin. The binary compiles to litecoind, and there is NO config directory set - all config files try to write to the home directory of the user running it.

All 120+ other coins we have added are configured correctly, and until the github source is fixed, we cannot add this coin. We don't have the development time to fix it for you.

Contact us using the support tab on allcrypt.com once this is resolved.

EternalCoin doesn't seem to locate the .conf file in ....user/AppData/Roaming/Eternalcoin as with other altcoins, for me the .conf file is working fine but try adding some other nodes to synchronice, the conf file would look like this:

rpcpassword=password
addnode=54.194.99.126
addnode=http://etc.pitythepool.com

If it stills not working, try deleting all files except the wallet .dat, .conf and the eternalcoin-qt_V1.0.exe

Regarding the link, I downloaded the zip file which had a password and it works perfect

If you already knew all this information, just ignore my advice
hope it helps Smiley

I must say when someone says ---- premine.... of course
it really shows how bad the scene is getting and sadly I do not see the trend reversing.

My wallet can't sinhr. too. I try to repleace the conf. but stiil can't. Give a link Wink please. Its a good coin but the walllet is bad.....
As I indicated in my previous reply, here's again the answer:
EternalCoin doesn't seem to locate the .conf file in ....user/AppData/Roaming/Eternalcoin as with other altcoins, this .conf file it's located in the Eternal folder itself (were you extracted the wallet), for me the .conf file is working fine but try adding some other nodes to synchronice, the conf file would look like this:

rpcuser=username
rpcpassword=password
addnode=54.194.99.126
addnode=http://etc.pitythepool.com
addnode=http://etc.sumpool.com
addnode=http://coin-base.info/eternalcoin/
addnode=etc.Crypto-Coinz.com
addnode=http://etc.okaypool.com/
daemon=1

If it stills not working, try deleting all files except the wallet .dat, .conf and the eternalcoin-qt_V1.0.exe

Regarding the link, I downloaded the zip file which had a password and it works perfect

If that doesn't work try making a backup of the wallet.dat file (don't delete this) and reinstall the wallet. Later you can restore the backup wallet with the wallet.dat file you backed up.

help whit wallet please, give a link...i had 100000 coin no where, they are from pool to no sinhr. wallet... Cry Roll Eyes
I don't understand your message, can you please be more explicit?

I've just used this 2 nodes since the launch and I had no problems at all:

addnode=54.194.99.126
addnode=54.187.37.110

The wallet syncs fine and I solo mined with my wallet lots of coins.

Maybe the confussion is because the file coin.conf is located inside the same folder where you extracted the compressed file.
I think this is better that locating and editing the file in the AppData/Roaming/ folder.

Actual reward is still 5000 ETC!

Blocks 1-5999 were 10,000ETC and blocks 6000-11999 are 5,000ETC.  We are right on track.  Blocks 12000-17999 will only be worth 2,500ETC.  This is a very fast distribution cycle that has rewarded early followers.   Roll Eyes

Just made a second attempt to add the coin - but it's unusable in linux in it's current state.

I think this coin has potential, specially when there are only 100 M and it still can be mined.

It should be added to bittrex or allcrypt..

Are you suggesting that EternalCoin has gone to its eternal rest? Grin

SwapHole appears to have de-listed this coin due to low price volume.
