I have two USB Antminer U2 sticks.

I plug them in to my mother board USB slots.

I have installed the proper driver.

http://www.silabs.com/products/mcu/Pages/USBtoUARTBridgeVCPDrivers.aspx

Windows will not recognize the USB sticks.

What am I doing wrong?

Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit with 6-Core CPU and 8 GB RAM.

I tried BFGMiner and CGMiner and looked in my Device Manager in windows and it sees there are two USB devices there but no drivers are installed.

I try to manually install the silabs drivers and still no luck.

Can someone help please?

Just tried the driver on a completely different machine and same result.

Could my USB devices be bad?

Aha, you may wanna try "zadig" to patch the drivers.
I used this tutorial for bitfury, but it also works with the new antminers.
Also make sure to use a usb 2 port, not 3!

I did the WinUSB from Zadig - I can see that it changed the driver but it's still not recognizing my devices Sad

Yes 100% sure. Unless my entire mobo is USB 3.0 but only a couple of the slots are blue.

I tried these sticks on a different machine too.

Hmm, that is odd. I am using these settings, maybe that is the issue?

I tried your exact settings. I just don't know why I cannot get Windows to recognize the device.

This is driving me nuts.

I am about to throw these things out the window.

Possible I got two bad ones in a row?

It is theoretically possible, but very unlikely.
I have had about 50 working in a row, no DOA's.
I don't know what's the problem.

Try one at a time without any overclock settings. Your USB might not be providing enough power. Also start cgminer with the extra options -D -T
Then you might get some useful debugging information.
