This seems like one hell of an opertunity. It would be good to now with more certainty what's going to happen next.

I keep my laptop beside my bed on mtgoxlive and clarkmoody. The fan wakes me up when big activity happens. I wake up briefly a couple times a night anyway, so I check it then.

day trading vs swing trading?

depends on how much sleep you want to get.

of course, (trailing) stop loss orders would also help.

I leave one monitor on clarkmoody's site and the other monitor on Bitcoinica and watch them from my bed while I go to sleep.  I open my eyes at least 5 times and check the price before I actually go to sleep.  Then when I wake up to go pee I blink a bunch of times till I can see the price and then I go back to bed.  Then when I wake up in the morning I wake up an hour before my alarm clock to check the price.  Uh...yeah, addicted.

If the price goes wild I'll sit down and do some midnight trading instead of sleeping.

My Droid3 has 3g, and it sucks!  So I can't get real time tickers directly on it. So, I use team viewer, and just connect to my PC. Then use my typical layout of tabs.

Y'all are crazy to be daytrading/nighttrading/swingtrading a hyper-volatile crypto-currency on exchanges open 24/7/365.  And "they" say speculators don't do anything!

Though honestly, I'd have made slight more money if I'd bought and held the coins I bought at $2.05, rather than buying and selling repeatedly on the way up.  For example, I had all of my sell orders from $5.00 to $5.70 today, and so I completely missed out on the rise from $5.70 to $6.  But if no one were selling and rebuying, there'd be no liquidity and bitcoin wouldn't be quite so useful as a currency.  Oh well, I guess liquidity is my contribution to the currency, rather than code or articles.

i've mounted a small monitor on the ceiling directly above my bed @ a 45 degree angle down toward my feet so that i don't have to roll over or open my eyes fully.

this is in addition to my Android just in case it runs out of charge.

Wait hold on... if you're not trading, why do you wake up at night to look at the price? lol

Learn to sleep.

I've traded things more volatile, and that I could have lost my house on.

Sure, it wasn't pretty watching my large $15 buy in back in June fall to $2, but I'm in the black with an average price around $5 after six months of trading.  Happy to watch this for a long time yet.
