All pools have been added to the OP, thanks to the owners for their support.

I submitted LGC to coinmarketcap so with any luck we should show up there soon. I'd also like to gain some user perspective on our logo. If you feel that we should go with something a bit more simplistic please let your opinion be known.

There's a few coins that are attempting to make the switch to POS over the coming weeks and we will be following them closely to see what the effects are. Just remember that over 4 million coins will be mined in the first 6 months of LGC's lifespan after that we are looking at a maxiumum of 67500 coins per month and possibly even less if we go with POS. Now is by far the best time to mine and hold.

We are working on getting a "Guides" section up on the website which will cover everything from Solo mining to hosting a p2pool and compiling wallets. We are hoping this becomes a useful community resource which indirectly brings Logicoin to the attention of new users.

At this point in time we need any and all help we can get in regards to marketing..If you feel that you can help out by writing an article about LGC or pomoting us on social media then please get in contact with me. We are very much open to suggestions and creative criticism so don't hold back!

Great news dev, I'm loving all the time and effort you are putting into making this one of the best coins out there to get involved with early, i would also like to say that personally i love the logo and don't understand all the talk of hiring a graphic designer to redo it, it seems pretty crazy for the community to ask you to pay for it out of pocket when you didn't even premine the coin, it looks great to me and i don't understand all the shit talk on the wallet ether which is the exact same wallet aesthetically that every other coin uses...

If the community wants these improvements they should be willing to ether put in the work I.e. photo shop the proposed new coin logo themselves, or donate to have a professional do it.

Great work dev looking forward to your next update!

Please support the LGC team by mining at http://lgc.x11pools.com:8652/ 100% of the fee goes to the LGC development team!

Hi

with all the talk of new logos, I was a little bored at work and came up with a concept (please bear in mind i'm no graphic designer and they were done in paint :-P)

https://i.imgur.com/7kh1RAt.png

I was thinking along the lines of simplicity to make it easily recognizable, but with the addition of the straight lines which make up most of it, it does give it a 'logical' feel to it too

I'm a fan of Logicoin and want to do my part for it, so if anyone likes these and wants to improve on them, be my guest!

Tweaked decanus21's logo and slapped it on a coin. It's a little rough, but you get the idea.

2.Download, compile and install Logicoin p2pool

Download Logicoin p2pool source : https://bitbucket.org/dstorm/p2pool-lgc/get/6891f0c35a27.zip

Extract dstorm-p2pool-lgc-6891f0c35a27.zip to the folder of your choice. It will put all the files a couple of folders deep.

Make a new folder c:\p2pool and copy everything in the dstorm-p2pool-lgc-6891f0c35a27 folder to c:\p2pool.

All your p2pool files and folders should now be in the root of c:\p2pool.

Open command prompt and go to c:\p2pool

Run the following command setup.py install build --compile=mingw32 install

You will see it finish with the following error.

raise ImportError, "No module named " + qname
 ImportError: No module named ltc_scrypt

That's ok because we're not mining Litecoins. We're mining Logicoins.

If you wish to charge a pool fee, edit c:\p2pool\run_darkpool.sh (you can't use notepad, you'll need something like ultraedit) otherwise, continue to step 3.

It is working perfectly.

When LogiCoin wallet is updated, do we need to compile the P2pool file again?

When LogiCoin wallet is updated, do we need to compile the P2pool file again?

It should just be a matter of taking down the node and updating the wallet. There should be no reason that we would need to alter any settings that would affect the p2pool source code.

Nice! Might work on some colour variations and put them up for vote.

Just to keep you guys updated. We contacted CoinMarketCap via email and twitter 36 hours ago and we are just waiting on a reply. Our social media profiles are more active and we will soon be holding a sweepstakes on facebook.

LGC will be awarded to 3 winners who will be chosen at random near the end of the reward halving.

1st place - 1000LGC
2nd place - 350 LGC
3rd place - 100LGC

At the moment all funds will be taken out of what the team has personally mined but we may begin to ask for donations as costs have started to add up and without a premine we have been supplementing those costs with income from our day jobs.

Regards,
Logicoin

Nice job! maybe add some gold circuitry to give it a bit more flavor? not sure if it's worth playing with other colour schemes as I guess it would be best to steer clear of looking too much like GPUcoin

Nice work on the logo's guys. Might have to put em for vote although I think the green circuitry looks a little too similar to GPUcoin.

p2pool node scanner at http://p2pools.org/lgc

i've added the ones from the op page. please add your own node if you can. for some reason, us.altmine.net couldn't be added.  Huh

Awesome work. I'll add this to the OP and keep it updated.

Yeah. Mine-coin.de has been my go-to pool, though lately I've been strictly p2p

Excellent work with the logos guys i really like the circuitry, it would be nice to see some coins with the full call letters though you know "LGC" i think we should start a contest so the community can vote on a new logo!

Hi

the reason I stuck to just the 'L' is to make it easily recognisable and transferable to other sizes / media. Having a large complex design is great to look at, but when you have to resize it to fit on the likes of coinwarz or the Windows taskbar, all that work is lost and it's almost unrecognisable. Take a look at some of the logos in coinwarz (for instance, GPUcoin) and you'll see what I mean. I think the simpler we keep it, the easier it will be to recognise and people will become much more familiar with it.

Just my thoughts anyway, I don't usually post this much on this forum but I really do have a good feeling about this coin  Smiley
