Cloud mining is very profitable if you do it right. Cloud mining at cex.io is wrong. Very wrong. It should be illegal.

How can it be profitable?  What would you use?

Scrypt.cc is profitable without trading.   Don't know if it will stay that way, but so far it has been great.

When the products are ready, the manufacturers will do lots of "testing" (a.k.a mining) before shipping out them.

To summarize; You can obtain bitcoins just like you obtain any other sort of currency. Work, buy it (exchange) steal it or beg for it.
