lol at those who're saying there's a fork. I'm on their IRC all the time. You know how many times "WC was forked"? More than 300 in 24 hours. Trolls coming all the time and scaring people, like they do here. 2 reasons. 1) Either they want to spread FUD, to get cheaper coin, 2) I've heard that some BC holders could be the people I mentioned above. ( I don't take anyone's side, I'm just a trader ) ( Also, it would be nice if price dropped a little bit I need more cheap coins ) It's the crypto-world. You don't need to spread FUD to make money. Use you trading abilities. Also, the developer is online all the time on IRC. ( He's away now ) -TWC

I'd really like to know what dev has in store for this coin, if he plans to work his coin once PoW is over.
Work the coin in what way? Honestly I think people rely on "devs" way too much and expect to hold everyones hand and guide them to riches. I think the most important factor is what the community itself does with a coin. Just my opinion. ok let me rephrase, will the dev work the coin with the community once PoW is over? hand in hand, can't rely solely on the community. edit: I'm coming from the angle if the dev isn't involved, it makes the community work 4x harder. Did Bitcoin community relied on Satoshi Nakamoto to work other than a open source code to see Bitcoin where it is today? The Answer is no!!! Now you say if the dev isn't involved makes your work 4x harder but if you want something to be successfull you need to work for it and to not waiting around for things to happen! If you or any other does not want to work for the prosperity of Whitecoin then move on and who cares to see Whitecoin grow can help by doing promo, creating services and buy more Whitecoins! It is very simple. If you care stay and help if you don't just move on!!!

I want to know the challenges we would be up against and possible time-frames for investing reasons. that's my purpose for asking. Has nothing to do with my desires for this coin to be successful or not. I already know it will be. Excuse me for trying to find out information to make an educated investment decision.

We've just seen a major difficulty drop in WC, now is the time for the true supporters of the coin to reap some more rewards. If you're not mining with chunkypools.com/wc already, consider giving us a try. We have consistent rewards, a great user experience, and many custom developed features. We also have a trading group and extremely supportive community. Our trade group recommend holding whitecoin BTW, buy on the dips.

1.9k net diff wtf?!?!
sitting on several big bags with a sum of over 2million WC bought at sub 1k sat ... im shaking with mixed emotions of joy and fear. to sell or not to sell
do both and sleep better =) also it helps long term. think about this....the more you risk the more your heart go crazy the less life you have to live, the less money you make. sell 50% keep the others 50. personaly i already sold 90% of my coins but i made something like 7x profits so im good and happy =) time to get back mining dog coin cya

Wafflepool is heavily mining WC right now. This is good Over 90btc worth mined already. It's shown as hidden on their stats page but they say block reward is 30000 which is the same as WC. https://wafflepool.com/stats

How do you unlock your wallet for minting but still leave it encrypted?
Encrypt your wallet. Then go into debug and type in walletpassphrase <yourpassphrase> <timeout in seconds>. Replace the first one with your password and the second one many seconds eg. 99999999. This will temporarily unlock it. When you close and open it will be locked again and you have to type the unlock thing in again. A couple things about unlocking your wallet to mint. One is after you type in the walletpasspharse command make sure you hit the red "-" at the bottom right of the console window to clear the console so you clear your passpharase. Also it is better to add the true argument. This tells the wallet to unlock for minting only. If you leave it unlocked the other way you are leaving your wallet wide open. walletpassphrase <yourpassphrase> <timeout in seconds> true is what you should type in console also clear the console so your passphrase is not just sitting there.
