I admit defeat with my thread war regarding AAPL and Bitcoin. After researching, I have come to the conclusion that AAPL is protecting their monopoly.
Just jotting this down, a prime example is PayPal. PayPal, in a number of countries is prohibited from operating, yet AAPL allows the PayPal app with full functionally in the app store. (Full functionally meaning the ability to pay in store, transfer, etc) However, the only reason AAPL allows this, is because both PayPal & AAPL make money from iTunes purchases, and both probably have a 'business contract' with one another.
However, as much as I despise this; that iOS is closed source; and how closed the Mac hardware is... I'll admit that I'll continue to be an iSheep.
I have tried Linux (Ubuntu), and Windows. Though I liked using Ubuntu, the one thing I missed was the quality, and quantity of apps. Sure there are open source apps, but replacing PixelMator? GFL finding a decent replacement. Don't say GIMP. I have used it and it's not a PixelMator replacement.
I had used Windows in the past, and decided to give it a whirl again. I instantly hated it. I guess even the thought of using Windows caused my instant hate. Another main "issue", is that I was indoctrinated when I was young, then when my first mac went, I had a PC. In 2008, I was indoctrinated again via the iPhone 3G, then the next year, I got my second Mac, which I'm still using today.
Hell, I even bought a Nexus 5 to use as a daily device to test Android. The first couple of months it was awesome. I loved being able to customize my home screen, and theme. However, then came seeing how fucking laggy some animations are. I pondered why a quad-core phone with 2GB of RAM would be laggy. My Nexus also has the screen dimming bug, where the screen dims even when using it. Next, is that damn annoying "BEEP!" when hanging up. I went to Google to find an answer. Nope, you need to root. Why does something so simple NEED A ROOT?

Wouldn't argue with that. iOS is a high quality prison, but to each their own.

With a screen name like yours, it'd seem you'd be a perfect fit for the Samsung Galaxy S5. Seriously, try it. It's pretty nice!

Well half the battle is being aware, that said I didn't really have much of a beef on apple less PRISM and the stuff in the other thread. As for windows I still prefer Windows 7 I instantly hated Windows 8 because I DO USE MY DAMN DESKTOP to put things to access later and the Start Menu rage lol. And well RIP Windows XP the patches stopped coming out so time for that forced upgrade for 25% of computer users http://www.npr.org/blogs/alltechconsidered/2014/04/12/301796021/tech-week-heartbleed-the-latest-bubble-and-windows-xp-retiresWhat does that got to do with apple not sure went on a rant but since I'm ranting what is the lifecycle of an apple product in software support. I know they always put out new phone models not so much knowledge on the IOS though and when they end support for their older products.

I am a salesperson for Apple and frankly it makes no sense that a company like Apple is not more bitcoin friendly. Our core values are supposed to be about challenging the status quo and celebrating ingenuity. I can't say for sure but I believe if Steve Jobs were still around things might be bit different between Apple and the bitcoin movement.

While I love the device itself, Android is what I'm starting to not like. So no matter what Android phone comes my way, it'll have the same annoying OS. Maybe they're trying to implement it as an API, that way everyone is (almost) happy. You just never know with Apple.

Anything is better than an apple product. Yeah, especially if the user hates using the other product. (That's basically like telling me to use Android/Windows Phone even though I hate those OS's) If users use Apple products, GET OVER IT. The time wasted by bashing people for the products they use can be spent on something better than bashing.

I'm sure that's what they like to say in their press releases and inductions, but everyone knows that this is not the case.

I couldn't care less what people use - they are more than entitled to burn their money (me included) on a closed system that is all about supporting corporate greed. What I don't understand is the rediculous nature of the Apple fandom (not the average user) given that their innovation has pretty much dissipated.

If you like Apple products you most likely need to buy multiple devices in order to use Bitcoin. Such is the state of things.
I, on the other hand, hate Apple products. Yet I own a MacBook Pro and iPhone because I need them to develop and maintain a mobile App for a charity that I support. I have to say that Objective C is a piece of shit programming language.

I hear you talking. I used to do web design, and as much as I wanted to, the lack of Adobe's support made using Linux hopeless. Inkscape is great though.

I suspect apple will allow bitcoin once it is big enough that they cannot ignore it. The ability to use bitcoin with a droid is an advantage over apple for some consumers. At this stage it is not enough of an advantage for enough consumers to threaten the apple's sales. However in the future if bitcoin is what many on this forum believe then you just won't be able to sell an iPhone unless there is a bitcoin app available.

I know that the enemy's enemy is not always a friend. But in this case, shouldn't we take Samsung's side? At least they will help in financially draining Apple, by capturing their market share.

What I don't understand is the rediculous nature of the Apple fandom (not the average user) given that their innovation has pretty much dissipated. As with everything else there are two sides to the coin. First of all the idea that "corporate greed" or profit as those without an axe to grind is a bad thing is simply wrong. "Corporate greed" has given us the automobile, light bulb, electricity, the internet, jets that can take us anywhere in the world in hours instead of days or even years. The ability to turn your ideals and talents into money is a great thing. As far as the closed system issue, when is the last time you heard about a virus hitting a Mac or an iPhone? I sell Apple products to windows users all the time that are sick of virus and spyware and the constant battle to keep their computer or portable device clean. They love that the apps are screened not only for malware and viruses, but for functionality as well. You won't find an app in the store that will run constantly in the background and use all your ram. You also won't find viruses and spyware in the app store. This is a really important aspect for a lot of people. Apple fans are passionate. I talk to them every day in my job and they are a fairly tech savvy and very passionate group. The remind me of bitcoin owners. I don't really care one way or the other what anyone's preference is, it just seems kind of silly that there is such a rivalry between the users of the various ecosystems.

Mostly chicks, soccer Moms, and teenage girls. Any self respecting, independent thinking, knowledgeable and tech savvy grown man has an Android phone. Thought this was a known fact!
