Oh, because China made the 15th the deadline for its banks to cease crypto operations some of the FUD assholes decided that Bitcoin would die.

haha imagine what happens to the price of those hats when one day, it turns out that the NSA actually CAN read brainwaves from a distance  ... nothing is impossible, detectors get better all the time, Terahertz and X-Ray backscatter only work due to better detectors

I never understood the panic at the beginning. Bitcoin doesn't die just because one country decides to dislike it.

There so much drama and panic which is entirely unfounded and exaggerated. But one good thing about it is that short-term speculators are driven out of the market.

April 15th is also the due date for income tax filing in the US.  Most people get a refund of a few thousand dollars.  I would not be surprised to see a minor rally over the next couple of weeks.

So did the Chinese bank account ban come into effect or not? It seems like nothing has changed at all. Did they reverse their decision, was the news simply false, or did it not have any effect?

You're probably correct on that. I'm curious to know if any sort of ban actually took place. It did appear that the PBOC was set to take some action, but it doesn't appear that they did anything.
