I wonder why people insist in saying that Ron Paul promised things that he did not (like banning abortion)
But although I usually think republicans are a very bad bunch, Ron Paul is someone I wish win the elections in the US, for the sake of the world.

Romney is seriously a joke. There is 0 difference between him and Obama. Well, maybe a small difference in which corporations get babied. The guy thinks our second amendment means everyone should be able to have a 22 for hunting rabbits. Whether you agree people should be able to arm themselves or not, that is clearly wrong and the only reason someone would say stuff like that is that they are a pandering bullshit artist. It is also clear the media is pushing Romney on republicans. If you listen to conservative talk radio you hear people calling in all the time saying they feel creeped out because they don't know anyone who really likes romney but the media keeps covering him for some reason.

Since none of us can predict the future, I can understand why some people would still not support the election of Ron Paul as president despite agreeing with his principles.

Oh so it's now an argument of practicality? If there's a will there's a way, bro. All we're asking for is a society that doesn't use coercion as much. That doesn't sound impractical to me. In fact, it's the only moral system in my view, a system where the use of coercion is minimized. Does the prevalence of rape, crime and murder make it any less wrong? No it doesn't. |
